Sorry discussing the best feautures of CF5.0 is technical, there are somve
very intersting things that are in CF5.0 and the UDF's opens up a lot of new
methods and functionality. So why can't we discuss it in here!

well i'm getting into some deep MVDB (multivalue database) projects and am
making good progress even in the past 24 hours. we've located products that
expose the structures and items (records) of MVDBs for use with SQL-based
DBs and application servers such as CF.
glad you found it
Rich,
Try getting the output for UPS_Error to see if it is returning an error. I
was able to plug in your data and get results.

You just create the content of each tab as a separate page. Clicking on a

i send 48,000 emails using CFMAIL. i send them in batches of 8,000 and each
batch takes less than 3 minutes. so i end up sending all 48,000 in less than
25 minutes. if you try and send them all at once it's a problem. sending
8,000 at a time was the key for me.
i run CF4.5.1ENT sp2 on NT 4.0 SP5

CFMAIL is made to mail lots of people I regularly use it to mail in excess
of 100,000 mails a day to some of our bigger Newsletter lists - the key is

Thanks VERY much for assistance.
Is there a way for cf to see when a certain database was last modified?
Wanting to show last updated date to site content and product information on
front page and think being able to see when the database was last modified
would be the easiest way to do it.

If you are using the Remote_Addr to pull the data the following code example
should work fine (allowing you to parse out whatever portions you need)
although I believe a port will usually show up as 10.10.10.30:5000 so you
would have to change the deliminater depending.
Hope this helps.

I don't know if CF can do it without anything from the db, but I know I've
seen a lot of apps (including my own) where you put a column in the tables
"DateUpdated" or something to that effect, then all of your data access code
just updates this column every time it changes the data. then you can

Nope, CLIENT variables are stored on disk, SESSION variables are stored in
memory. CLIENT variables are designed to persist longer than SESSION
variables, and they don't require locking. The downside is that they are
slower, and they do not support complex data types (like arrays or
structures)
