There are some things which are so fundemental that a society (and this
is definately a society) that the enforcement of a patent is harmful and
wrong. On another note, I believe that it was UCLA (probably some
students) that actually thought of it.Doesn't UCLA receive State and

Michael,
The Pet Marekt Blue Print is a great example of a nice remoting
application. Further you can download it to your laptop (if you have
one) and give a *live* demo. In addition there is a very good marketing
presentation by Al Ramadan that may give you some ideas for your own

Dustin,
I have seen this problem before. Maybe this is a solution to your pain.
Make sure that (assuming your in an Windows environment) that you go to
the services manager and stop *ALL* Coldfusion services. If the
services are running this will prevent a successful installation. HTH.

Is any one familiar with
Cfide/mib/getmetricdataXML.cfm and cfide/mib/serverinfo.cfm
I am seeing these errors in the event viewer log and am wondering if
this is a legacy issue from CF 5 or is this a part of CFMX. I'd love to
know what I am seeing here. Thanks.

Also another great thing about Hall and Wan's book is that you have the
opportunity to learn MVC in depth. MVC has been tremendously useful to
me in building H.A. applications.

I normally try to contain myself, but sometimes people can say really
idiotic things.
On moving data and files etc... there are ways to get it done in
conjunction with cfmx, but you appear to be a one dimensional thinker.
You are out of your depth.
As for your theory for the 30 second download,
. Hence, it isn't a desktop application.
Out side of claiming you are smarter than I, what is your point?

If you have been fooling around with this since Friday, you are
investing more time that you had initially planned. You might better
use your time rebuilding the machine. Just using it for CF and putting
the IDE on it should only take at max 3-4 hours. In that way you would
know that your
trust MM at all anymore, which is very daunting
being that I have only been listening to them since they bought Allaire.

Not to be a jerk but you probably could if you passed the info to a

Hi all. Every time I think I've turned the corner with MX, it bites

OK Batman.
Wow. Talk about culture shock. There has been quite a bit said today
about the new (beta) version of the layout. I have checked out the site
and it was well done. Personally I was impressed with some of the
backend action going on. Pretty tight indeed. Try out the Your

We are using CFMX Enterprise on a Windows platform. The goal would be to
use the CFMX to connect to a .NET Asynchronous Web Service. I am not
sure if that will make a difference.
Thanks

Four words for you guys. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

still the law. Never place a client or yourself in a position that

I had the same problem described below. When I installed the updater, I
pointed it to my cfide on my R: drive which was wrong. I kept getting
application page errors. After trial and error, I browsed to the cfide
directory that was still on my C: drive under the inetpub\wwwroot
directory.
