12.3(24) and 12.3(2)T are different versions, with the T being the
technology train, I can believe it could have some new features that are not
present in the mainline 12.3 release.

Hello,
Just want to confirm what should be done. I have a router that resulted in a
bad NPE 225. Had a spare NPE 225 but it wouldn't work for some strange
reason. So had an old NPE 150 laying around so inserted. When the router
came backup noticed that a message flashed nvram corrupt on console.
You should call Cisco TAC and see if you can get contract. I doubt it.

Thanks for the confirmation. That is the process I was going to take. Do you
know of any reason why that would happen?

Looks like the NVRAM got corrupted for some reason, I couldn't tell you
why though.

I definitely have a back up of the configuration. Whew! But I was just
confused as to why the circuits came up considering the NVRAM corruption.
Miracle of course.
Thanks for your help and information.

Do you have a backup of the config? Assuming you're doing all this just to
migrate to a new box why not use the backup config to build the new box or
migrate? If you are going to fix it why not get the new working NPE and use
the backup to rebuild? I'm not sure password hacking the broken one
Right. I have a backup of config on the flash cards in the system. Anytime a
change is made it's copied to both flash cards and tftp to the server. The
only issue tftp is manual though and sometimes doesn't get done. RANCID from
now on. Haven't had time to setup but now it's a must.

Hi,
I was just wondering about the output of:
sh bgp ipv6 unicast neighbors x advertised-routes
sh ip bgp neighbors x advertised-routes
I have configured next-hop-self and think that the Next Hop column
should show the IP of my side of the (e)BGP session.
Quagga and Foundry XMR behave
the output of the command you have executed locally will *always* display the
*real* next-hop!
Execute the sh ip bgp neigh routes/received-routes - depending on config to
*see* what your peer sees as next-hop!
The more-important question *IS* -
why do you have 'next-hop-self' configured?
