Hi All
This is my first post so please be gentle.
Adding new out of the box ATA 187 to cucm v9 and the device obtains IP but is
not registering.
Am I missing something? Is there another file that needs uploading?
Default device load is ATA187.9-2-3-1
Any Guidance will be greatly
Hi Dave,
1. I'd take packet captures from the switch where the ATA is connected to
find out what it's doing. Whether it reaches out to the tftp server for its
configuration file. Then check if it downloads its load and contacts the
CUCM over SIP.
2. You can also manually set the IP, tftp and
Hi Guys,
Was just about to do a fresh installation of ucm/cuc/imp on a Cisco BE6k. Is
10.5 mature enough to go ahead?
Anyone has anything to share on whether to go for a 10.0 or 10.5?
Googling didnot yield sufficient results - if anyone can share there first hand

I am new to Call Manager and this group. Is there a way to download a trial
version of Call Manager to run in VMware? I can download updates but I am told
they are not bootable.
Thanks for any help you can give me,

Need some advice for international calls.
I want to be able to make international calls as easy as picking a line off
the phone but using a service like vonage to complete the call. I want to
be able to allow multiple people to use this line from different parts of
the building so it would look
You can get a sip trunk from a low cost provider and route Intl calls
there. Lot less hassle that way.

10.5 is going to be a long-term release with more updates. 10.0 will
probably not be getting any more updates. Most people don't run X.0
software in production unless a certain feature is really, really needed
immediately.
Think of 10.0 similar to 8.0 and 10.5 similar to 8.5. People are still
You can search online how to make the file bootable if you want to go down
that route. You'll get 60 days before the demo license expires.
You can talk to your Cisco account manager to get an official bootable
version and he might even be able to give you some permanent lab licenses.
You can
You just need to point the international route pattern to the Vonage
device. Vonage also offers business SIP Trunks.
You could make it so only a certain line can access the number by messing
with the partitions/CSS on the line.

I'd go with 10.5. Traditionally once the first non dot zero release is RTM, the
dot zero no longer sees development and Cisco generally steers you toward
upgrading off the .0.

I haven't run into any problems with 10.5(1) on CUCM yet. But... if you
want to use SRST Manager it is only compatable with 9.x until later this
summer when they release the new version.

I asked vonage about SIP trunks over the phone and their business unit is
either not very informed or they just do not off that anymore. I did
however talk to Via:Talk and they seem to be very helpful. They do offer
sip trunks for 42.99 a month and they have better rates then Vonage.

Jose,
That is not supported. If you are using a VM, you could always export the
virtual machine out.
If you are on physical hardware, some old schoolers create backups by
pulling out one of the disks in the raid array as an offline backup.

So, I have never heard nor seen such a thing, but is anyone aware of a wall
mount kit for a Cisco phone (7965 in this case) with a 7916 sidecar that can
easily mount to the wall?
I have a feeling I have some engineering to do here...
TIA,
Mary
