Fred: Give Norm Gustafson a call (360) 823-6357. He used to be in charge of big diesels (Catapiller) locally, and he taught a diesel class when he was a member of RCYC. He can give you advice over the phone, and if you want him to work on your engine, he'll do a good job. Alan Bergen On Tue,

Stus-List Diesel Injectors

If you're looking at blue smoke it's not as likely to be the injectors. Injectors usually get linked to black smoke / an overly rich mixture. Blue smoke is more likely compression related or somehow the lube oil blows by the rings and burns (It seals-up as the metal expands upon warming up) But

I had mine apart late last year and was successful in replacing the clutch lever and clutch eccentric, getting it back together, and operational. Symptoms were "catching" sound in the until and no positive "feel" for whether it was engaged or disengaged. The wheel didn't hang up but a couple dozen

I would have a Nordac 3Di as my 135 Genoa and probably as a main if North didn't try to extort money from me.. Last october, I put in an order fro the 3Di Nordac 135% genoa complete with a 50% deposit. A month later, instead of an update on the progress of the order, my local loft got a ransom

We bought a #2 (135%) made from the new 3Di Nordac material last fall.  We like it so much that we have not flown the #1 this year.  Great sail shape and it points very well.  I would highly recommend it so far. Jim ReinardyC

I had a Nordac performance main on my 25 mk1 with full battens. Combined with a Norlam 150 headsail we were competitive with larger boats under 15kts. Was still holding its shape after several years, but used an older main for cruising. Chuck Gilchrest Sent from my iPhone > On Jul 3, 2018,

I purchased one this year as a mainsail and have had it up only about a half dozen times. The shape is generally good, except for two issues I’ve noted: 1) there is an area near one of the upper battens that is messing up the shape that I need to investigate; and 2) when the luff backwinds in

I have been racing with a 105% Nordac genoa for ten years, and have had no problems with it. Recently I noticed a little wear at one spot the luff tape, probably due to a rough spot on the furler. I also have a 135% furling genoa which I use for cruising. It's four years old, and I haven't used

My Yanmar in my C emits a small cloud of white smoke when I first turn it over after sitting idle for weeks or months, but never blue or black smoke. My engine had a partial rebuild in 2007 which may have eliminated some of the issues of an aging diesel... I hope that's helps in some way? Dan

Have you checked your air cleaner/muffler for oil saturation? My engine has had slightly elevated blowby which caused more oil to be pushed past the separator screen in the valve cover. The oil is drawn back into the engine by intake suction during normal ops. When the engine was shut down the
