I think you might find that the bilge pump you have is a Whale Gusher. At least the pump in my 75 vintage 25 mk1 was a Whale. My problem was not the diaphragm but the flapper valves in the inlet and outlet of the pump. They no longer sealed properly after 25 or 30 years in place. A
