I used overlapping strips of duct tape on top of the hole, and finished off with a strip around the circumference.DamianC 34 GhostOn Dec 8, 2016 9:02 PM, Nate Flesness via CnC-List wrote:Dishpan turned upside down and duct-taped/tied to ropes to the handholds..NateSarah
They displayed it an the Annapolis boat show. My boat is wired for
separate switches, and I prefer simple over complex, so I went with the two
bulb unit. It added about 3 inches to my air draft. I forget the price
difference, but it was about $30 one way or the other.

I’d be interested in this thread as my 34/36 R is slated for the 25 year

So for 25+ year old boats that are not racing why do we replace rod with new
rod rather than with wire? I recall from somewhere that the cost of one rod is
about the same as traditional wire for an entire boat. What am I missing?

I'm going through this process right now (see the list archive for my email
thread asking questions about it last month). It's a pretty complex topic,
so not something easily explained holistically in an email. I'm working on
a blog post (svviolethour.com) about it but there's so much it will

I use an upside down bucket. Of course that is only required for a week or so
until boat is covered. I tie it down using the various blocks, fairleads etc
at the mast base

Hi Pete,
I got the estimate on a complete overhaul of my rigging, standing and running
last week from, I suspect, the same rigger. Breathtaking is one way of
describing it…
Anyway, you may be able to just re-head the existing rod which we did back in
2000. But I suspect that your rigger will

Even cruder and simpler: I typically set an oversized piece of plywood over the
hole (to keep out the water), then put a cinder block on the plywood (to hold
it in place). Never had a problem with leaking or blowing away.
Re-painting the mast is a different story. How big of a project are

Hello Listers,
My 30-2 is 25+ years young. I've been the owner since 2003, and I am
reasonably sure the standing, rog rigging is original.
I've met with a rigger and I am awaiting his recommendation ,including the
costs and other options. I'm hoping the existing rod [25 years old] can be
