Paul; Dave's application looks very good, you wouldn't go wrong emulating his
layout; we went through this same process on our 33 and 37 and haven't
regretted it;
one additional thought is that, if you are planning going south you might want
to have larger sections of sun protection and the
Hi Paul
I bought a 33 MK II two years ago and my wife said I had to get a dodger or a
bimini.
I opted for a bimini because I am on Lake Huron and not many manufacturers
nearby. I canvased the TO Boat show and no one was interested in making me a
dodger because they all said they need to see
Some thoughts after a few seasons with Windstar - 33-2, equipped with
dodger and bimini and bridgedeck mainsheet traveller. I would not live
without dodger and bimini, they were on my must have when I was shopping.
- Make sure the dodger window can be opened and stowed out of the way.
Mine rolls
Hi all,
After a few years of cruising Lake Ontario and the 1000 Islands in the St.
Lawrence River I'm planning on some extended cruising next season, maybe to
end up where winter doesn't suck.
My old 33 MKI is naked - no dodger and no bimini, and while I love that,
let's face it, some shelter

I replaced my hot water tank, last year (bottom rusted out), and discovered
that I had leaks due to the fact that the plumbing had two different kinds
of threads, and proper converters weren't used. Watch out for that.
Otherwise, it shouldn't be too big a job, unless you have access
challenges.
Listers,
Seeing a few articles and videos lately about people re-plumbing the fresh
water system on their boats using the PEX red and blue piping and quick-connect
fittings — and the crazy self-punishing jerk in me is wondering if I should
take on the task to replace the 26 year-old plumbing
Rick,
Can't offer you my sat phone, as it is joining me for the Annapolis Newport
race.
You can pick up used phones off of craigslist, but be sure that there is a
monthly plan offered by the carrier. I picked up a Globalstar phone for
$200. Not an endorsement of it, just an example.

Rick,
depending on your needs, consider Delorme inReach as an alternative (quite cost
effective) to a satellite phone.
I had very good experience in a very remote area with the device.

Rick,
I rented an EPIRB from BoatUS a couple of years ago. It was easy. The EPIRB
came FedEx, and I mailed it back similarly when I was done.
