I was told 3 way valves are a source of cloggs. Have an extra tank fitting
and a marcerator pump for overboard discharge. It's been 12 troublefree
years since I installed my tank. I didn't have a tank before that.

Fred/Bob, Thank you both for the very helpful info on Kracor. I'll contact
them. From their catalog, it looks like model 2-81823 might be a direct
replacement. Regards, Damian Damian Greene1982 CC 34 GHOSTBass Harbor, Maine

The direct replacement on my 35 was mold 5159 on the same page, model #
2-70824B.
Kracor didn't have it in stock and were going to charge me a $200 setup fee
plus the cost of the tank plus shipping. For the same money I had a custom
tank locally made to that spec and it fits like a glove.

I don't know what this is all about but all tanks are made to order--none are
stocked. It only takes a couple weeks to make one. I wasn't charged a setup
fee when I ordered a replacement for my port water tank.
By a custom tank do you mean a welded tank?

I tried the Kracor route as well and it was $7xx with shipping on top, to
Canada, it was another $150 or something? Sure, it's a drop in replacement
but there are better options, that's pushing 1k. I went to
http://www.plastic-mart.com. It was all online but the service was
excellent and the tank
You might consider giving this a try. If it works through the rest of the
season then you might avoid the trouble of replacing the tank. I tried it
on a new beckson port i put on my holding tank. I can't speak for the
strength of the bond but i can tell you that the tank doesn't leak.
It looks like I'll need to replace the holding tank on my 1982 CC 34 - weeping
crack in the sidewall at the discharge penetration (creating smelly mess in the
bilge). I could try to get it plastic-welded, but likely the best route for a
winter project will be to replace the tank, and the hoses
The original tanks were made by Kracor. They should be able to find the
drawing.
