After striking out at the Yellow-throated Warbler stakeout in Fort Collins, I
joined forces with Andy Bankert and Dave Wade, in spite of the snow, which
persisted all afternoon.
Douglas Reservoir was less birdy than last week. Highlights were Northern

While certainly not rare it's the 1st time in my 15 years at this location that
I have seen any BC's here.
They seem to like my 40 Yr old honey locust with rough irregular bark a lot.

Hello, Birders. A couple dozen of us had a wonderful time earlier today,
Sat., Dec. 12, in the winter wonderland of Greenlee Preserve and Waneka
Lake, eastern Boulder County.
Highlights were a beautiful *white-throated sparrow;* three *killdeer*

I started the morning at Lake Loveland trying to make out birds at long
distances in heavy snow. I was able to ID an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull
and several common species. No sign of the Dunlin, the Pelicans, or the
Glaucous Gull reported as recently as yesterday - but given the viewing

Olive thicket at the Tillman Bishop SWA on East Orchard Mesa across the
Colorado River from the Riverside Park in Palisade. Although a common
breeder, they are not often seen in the winter on the West Slope.

Made stops at Valco Ponds finding a Swamp Sparrow in the no.rtheast corner
