Like everybody has pointed out, this is a Sage Thrasher. Although Sage
Thrashers definitely look similar to *catharus* thrushes, this bird is a
Thrasher, not a Thrush.

You guys are awesome! I’m studying all these thrushes; it looks a bit like this
one, a bit like that one, and a bit like a third. It never occurred to me the
bird was a thrasher! I’d thought that thrashers were more southerly birds, but
the CO Breeding Birds Atlas has them nesting in my area.
We have recorded five FOYs for us today:
6 White-faced Ibis, at McClain Gravel Pit; may have flown north to Walker
Gravel Pit or maybe farther.2 American White Pelicans at McClain.1 Osprey at
McClain.
