Minor revision to my post - I misidentified the swan as a Trump, but it is
actually a juvenile Tundra (I forgot they could have disproportionately
large bills as juveniles too).

Well Steve's not 100% sure - bird shows two long individual head plumes and
clean yellow feet without yellow extending up the back of the leg at all.
(Both plus for Little). It shows some moderate plumes on back end, very little
on the chest, and Steve feels that the bill size is more Snowy

A Black Tern was viewed flying over the second of the two west ponds near CR 7
at the entrance to St. Vrain State Park at about 2 PM today. No parking is
allowed along this road and is sometimes strongly enforced. I did not see the
Caspian Tern previously reported before the storm.

I don't agree. It looks like a pale immature Ferruginous Hawk to me. It
appears to have a heavy barrel chested look, totally unmarked underparts, and
mostly pale head without the typical Prairie Falcon tear marking.
Of course better photos would help, but this does not appear to be a Falcon
song of Red-winged blackbirds and Western meadowlarks could be heard
everywhere.

I stopped at Glenmere today at around 3:15 PM in search of the kites
and just as I was getting ready to leave I found a pair circling overhead

like. The reservoir is still all frozen or almost all frozen. One corner
(South-west I think) was loaded up with mallards (1000+) and pintails(100 or
so) so I assume there must be some water in that corner, but most
of dark
morph and harlan's birds today everything was light morph!)

1 Cooper's
2 prairie falcon (one hunting starlings)
1 Merlin
Bombed out of roughies though!
