Last year a flock of eastern bluebirds spent several months around CU
South. I have been looking in hopes they’d returned, and they have!!
Currently watching them by some pine trees on the upper trail SE of the
tennis courts (about in line with the south pond).

A quick look at EBird suggests the last November cattle egret sighting was
in 2012.

The Baltimore oriole previously reported on the west side of Pella Crossing
open space was still present and singing this morning. Also of potential
interest is a breeding plumage red-necked grebe in the pond just north of
the parking lot.

Currently watching a black tern foraging over the private pond that can be
viewed from the northwest area of Walden ponds (the pond with all the bee
boxes). Lots of swallows feeding on the pond too. Tern is bigger and has a
loping flight. Way cool!

Saw the Blackburnian briefly at about 1:30 from the paved bike trail, just
arounda bend from the N parking lot (if I step to the east side of the bike
trail I can see cars). Red-eyed vireo also continues.

This morning along the Eagle Trail (west of Boulder Reservoir), about 600m
from the trailhead I observed a northern mockingbird for about two minutes.
It was flying about and perching on agave stalks. Did not see where it went

While doing our BCNA Wintering Raptor Survey route this morning, Melissa
Mezger and I say a Say's Phoebe on a telephone wire, on Mcaslin south of
Superior. It was near a barn on the west side of the road, calling like
crazy over the din of some starlings.

There's an ibis actively feeding at the back of cottonwood marsh this

A trip to Sombrero Marsh in Boulder this morning yielded a marsh wren, blue
winged teal, and a brief glimpse of a swallow (white belly, my hunch is
tree swallow but not positive on the ID). Lots of other good ducks and
birds!

On a trip to Marston his afternoon, no terns seen but we did have great
looks at 3 female Wilson's phalaropes in breeding plumage, as well as a
Bonapartes gull. They were all on the south side shore, seen from the park
off of jay road.
