Had a surprise visit in my yard from a Pygmy Nuthatch today. As I am just a
few blocks east of downtown Colorado Springs, El Paso County, my regular

Tonight I tracked the Chimney Swifts that circle downtown Colorado Springs to
find their favorite chimney. Seems they are fond of the chimney at the
downtown fire station (Colorado Avenue and Weber Street). The show started at

quadrangle for the BBA II project, a Mississippi Kite flew overhead. It flew
over Hwy. 85, south of the Academy Boulevard interchange, and about 3/4 mile

three kinds) that ebbed and flowed in hostess Beverly Jensen's yard early this

Last night at 5:00 PM (like a cuckoo clock) the Rusty Blackbird popped up in
the tree next to the paved walkway and started singing! Wow. At the time I
was watching a Cinnamon Teal in the creek.
I was standing on the paved walkway, about 50 yards west of the underpass.
