Hi COBirders,
My yard list stands at 205.
I have lived on Long Pond in north Larimer since 1994 and have been obsessively
keeping a list since that time.
Best bird would have to be an adult male Cerulean Warbler (accepted by the
CBRC.) Another good warbler was Cape May.
Biggest “ugh”
So we change the name of Swainson’s Warbler.
Wintering Swainson’s Warblers are in the Caribbean and southern Mexico and also
central Jamaica.
How are we not imposing our values on other countries where these birds are all
addressed by their ENGLISH common names?
And to quote Jon Dunn: “The
Hi COBirders,

COBirders,
The Common Gallinule is still present in the same marsh as previously reported
in Wellington SWA, Larimer.
Today I found in the middle section of the more north marsh, more towards the
middle of the lake. Eventually came out into the open and walked around
feeding.

COBirders,
I just had a probable SWAINSON’s WARBLER at Last Chance in Washington County.
Never got a 100% look at it. Crawling & foraging on the ground & crawling low
through the currents. I initially thought it was a Worm-eating Warbler but then
got another look. The behavior was typical of
COBirders,
I had a pretty major fallout of Chipping Sparrows at Long Pond in north Larimer
today. Mostly on the shore of the lake picking at the mud, they numbered in the
hundreds. They were everywhere. It was really quite something to see. I did
pick out one Clay-colored Sparrow among them.
I just found a Brant on Milevak Res. among thousands of geese. No sign of the
Pink-footed or Barnacle.

I just had a GYRFALCON on Hwy 14 just west of RD. 47 in Weld.
The bird flew south along Hwy 14 & then crossed the rd, & flew north into a

come back up so I assume it caught prey.
