For the Department of Homeland Security, I might perhaps suggest a parasitic
bird, such as the Brown-headed Cowbird.

I’d better make sure. So do Colorado birders count birds flying in or out of
the reservoir for both counties or just one or the other? And if the latter,
which?

Hi all,
Just in case anyone is still in need of a Sabine's Gull, I saw what I would
expect to be the same bird again today, Sunday, September 28th. I had great
views of it in flight, while standing at the handicapped accessible fishing
site (Carolyn Armstrong) in Cherry Creek S.P., Arapahoe
Hi all,
I'm back in your great state. Wonderful weather and not bad birding! I'm here
for a wedding and won't have much time for birding, alas. I did manage to sneak
in a little today, though.
A brief stop at the rest stop in Julesberg, Sedgwick County immediately yielded

Hi all,
I went up to Conifer with my, alas, non-birding family today (Dec. 26th). It
wasn't very birdy at high elevations, with a raven Mountain Chickadee being
the only species I saw, and a few more usual suspects (crows, magpies, a
Red-tailed Hawk and Steller's Jay) lower down. On
Hi all, Kathy Mimm-Dunning, Glenn Walbek, Loch Kilpatrick I did a tour of
Southern Southeastern Colorado on Thursday, May 24. A highlight was Hepatic
Tanager on County Road 310 near Walsenburg, Huerfano Co, where we began our
day. It was initially a bit skulky, but eventually perching
Hi all,
For what it's worth, I have certainly seen Canyon Wrens on buildings in
Arizona. So it certainly does seem possible on campus buildings, which
(especially if they are older style architecture) can mimic cliff habitat.

At any rate, I found lots of stimulating reading in both posts. (As
well as Jeff Jones's post on this topic.) I am on quite a few different
state province birding e-groups, and Co-birds is definitely one of the
more informative enjoyable to read.
