Good afternoon,
The Ani was seen by about 1/2 dozen folks around 1:30 this afternoon. It was
east of the pedestrian/trail bridge, about 1/4 mile upstream, on the north side
of the stream. It was perched near the trunk of a tree, very unperturbed. It
would drop down occasionally, and then back
Bird is currently best viewed from south side of creek. It is on the eastern
end of eastern island. It moves in and out of view often very still, or
preening. Vocalizes once in a while.
Parking on 37th near Alton is close by.

In-case anyone is interested in what the Denver Groove-billed Ani is

Westerly Creek bridge can be accessed from the corner of Boston Street and 37th
Ave. From that corner you can see the bridge below. When I left an hour ago,
the bird was in the cottonwood on the right just before you reach the bridge.

Ani seems to be moving back downstream (west). It was just calling from
under the Westerly Creek Bridge on the south side. It then appeared in the
thickets on the west side of the bridge where it called for a bit, then
disappeared into the foliage. Thanks to all for the continued updates.
Can anyone tell myself and Dale Peterson where the westerly creek bridge is?

Got great views of the Ani just now. Could this be an escaped bird? It flew up
to many of us as if waiting for a hand out. At one point five of us were about
eight feet away from it for about 6 minutes or so.
