My husband and I camped in Picture Canyon over the weekend. Rose-breasted Grosbeak male, American Redstart male, Painted Bunting male and female. Not sure how much these birds range, but I saw a single female at our camp, the pair about 3/4 mile down the trail near the cliffs with the gated slot

I was outside this afternoon raking and cleaning out garden beds. As I was putting things away I started hearing some peeping call notes that grabbed my attention. Found them quickly and one even deviated in flight to fly right by my face- then landed in the tree- checked out the suet - didn’
