I am please to announce the Code4Lib 2017 Conference will be held March
6-9, 2017 at the new Luskin Conference Center on the UCLA campus. The
contract was signed Tuesday afternoon, so we are finally in a position
to make this announcement.

I should point out that conference organizers will look at the budget
and total sponsorship levels on Monday, November 28, to set the
conference registration fee. Our current level of support is lower than
we hoped, but we are working to catch up.

UCLA uses Moodle, branded as the Common Coollaboration & Learning
Environment (CCLE). Eight years ago, Library IT tried to develop a
Moodle block for courses, but that didn't work out -- we didn't have
time to become effective Moodle developers.
After that failure, we took an approach of coope

(FCIG) will be an earlier proposal deadline for hosting, 1.5 to 2 years
in advance. If the conference is to remain this big and keep costs
relatively low, organizers need more than 10 or 11 months to sign a
contract for a venue.
