Could you please tell me why maven can't be used for building project
for java 1.3 target runtime ?
Typically, because we don't trust it. It means that Maven is running
in a JDK 1.4+
Discovery has the same issue as dbutils by the way - the build.xml is
limited and I guess the previous releases were done from Maven under
JDK 1.4. I would be hoping to do the same again.

Hi Simon,
Not at all, I appreciate your help. It all sounds good to me. I'm currently
waiting for a final confirmation from Fernando as to whether 0.3 fulfills his
needs, then we can tag and release. The vote has been done already.

Hello
The file you're looking for is navigation.xml in the xdocs folder:
http://svn.apache.org/viewcvs.cgi/jakarta/commons/proper/discovery/trunk/xdocs/navigation.xml?rev=155413view=markup
This file adds menu items to the left hand side navbar.

hi tim
all i did was remove the xml file from xdocs and handcraft a html
document in docs. this is really intended to help folks who link to the
old url and i hope to commit and regenerate (at least some of) the
mavenized sites with the new beanutils url soon.

In addition:
The download link to binindex.cgi doesn't use the # a name and the
commons-discovery-0.2.tar.gz contains a commons-discovery.jar and not a

Unsure if either of these are meant to be standardised on, but I think
they should be.

On Mon, 5 Jan 2004,
commons-discover is gone.

hi richard
i've cut a few commons releases and i'd be willing to volunteer to act as
release manager (if no one else wants to jump in).
if you want to cut it yourself then you might find the draft extended how
to release documentation (http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/releases/)
useful.
Try it again :)

On a related note, how do you update a 'mavenized' site such as
discovery? It looks like James Strachan built the last one for
discovery, how do I go about updating it, or can someone

maven has a fancy goal that generates the site and updates

This does not appear to be a discovery error.
That said, there are a few NPE exception in commons-logging 1.0.1. And
these were fixed. Please a recent nightly build and see if that corrects
this problem.
