penBeacon operates in the 2.4GHz band,
but does not follow any particular standard (e.g. no Bluetooth, no
Wifi). But it's small and very low power.

In order to run it on a Neo you need to install python-pygtk,
python-pygobject (might need ipkg install -force-overwrite since it
pulls in libc6-dev, but that's another story) and python-pycairo.

usual notion of "developer packages" does not apply to
Gentoo systems, since all packages are built from source by default all
necessary files to compile against packages are always installed. So,
just installing libsdl is enough.

But again, this shouldn

And finally: Should the discussion really be one-dimensional and flat,
well that's just a special case of a tree and no problem at all for

Adobe's Flash is not even
available for x86_64. When I was wondering why nobody at Adobe seems to
have 64bit compiler I was told that part of the problem is that they
use a JIT compiler for Actionscript which happens to put out x86
opcodes. Good luck trying to get them port that to ARM.

different solution has been mentioned already: If all PIM data is
kept in a central database anyways, then encryption can be done there.
E.g. three levels: "No encryption", "Item-level encryption in PIM
database", "Full filesystem encryption".
. I didn't read it any
closer but it might be worth looking into.
