True enough, but Mr. P. is in Loopy Land with that post. I expect the next

The is goal is to move people to the cloud where most
believe tech is headed.
Let's all give a hearty baa for the Windows sheeple
as they happily trot off to be shorn.
Don't forget that mac baaa or whatever you MFB do...apple
is headed that way too.

urged list members to dump their ISP provided email and move to the cloud
via Gmail or the like. An idea with which I agree with whole-heartedly.
By the time you figure in the cost of the MB, CPU, new RAM, etc... you may be
better off looking at Dell's outlet if not their brand new desktops. But if
you want to do it yourself, I say go NewEgg.

I was able to upgrade my system for $150 after rebates. New MB, dual
core processor, 2GB memory, and power supply. Microcenter has some
good deals too, especially now.
Staying with XP was a prime motivator for upgrading rather than buying
new (Vista). All totaled, I got a better deal upgrading.
You get longer warranty on almost everything, 3 to 5 years on hard drives.
If you are comfortable building your own, it is the only way to go, you'll
save over pc's and a lot over macs.

What's your point? That IBM is getting involved with cloud computing
should come as no surprise. That they are taking an enterprise approach
with an emphasis on reliability and security should be no surprise either.
Or are you just trying to muddy the waters by adding
Now Tom that is pretty low even for you.
Don't play innocent with us. We know you too well. You don't like the

pattern of obfuscation and dancing all around the topic instead of
addressing it.

Your recent rants on MS phones.
Where? When? All I did was post a very funny quote from the Inquirer.
They are known for acerbic reporting that is often spot on. I didn't even
start that thread, just responded to it.
You are trying to discredit me by spreading falsehoods.
Baa.
But what I get tired of, is the one sided biases that some folks show
when they review stuff.
I recently watched a review of the Blackberry Storm done by (Get

not use either phone and have them compare and see what they

No,

You probably can't move your XP to a new motherboard. You must buy a new
copy of Windows. Check your EULA.
Are you saying there are circumstances in which if your motherboard
goes bad, that you are not allowed to replace it and use the same
operating system? Is this something that is automatically checked or
you just have to know?

My wife is finally replacing her old Powerbook with a new MacBook Pro.
This will be our first Intel based Mac. She likes using Appleworks.
Will she be able to use it on her MacBook Pro?

** List info,
I didn't suggest that. Google wants computer mfrs to include Chrome
on their installs. I asked, since you obviously don't think MS should
be competing with Google and not updating their products to conform
better to changing markets, that instead MS should go old-school and
start leaning on

Then there is also the matter of the class action suit against MS over

Yep. They let the marketing trolls do their thinking for them again and got
sucked in Intel's whining.
Dirty tricks are not the same as competition. Taking unfair advantage
