I've always used a vacuum to suck mine out for years...i stayed about 2' away
from the motherboard.
When you reverse it and blow the dust out of the cpu, how close would you
get...an inch or more or any distance that will mostly clean it?

Usually a louder fan means the fan bearing is starting to fail.
There is nothing to do for that except replace the fan. Usually it
takes a fair amount of time for it to fail and it will continue to get
louder but ...

No dust.
No clogged intake filter.
No intake filter.
No loose screws.
No loose wires.
No WD40 for me.
No loud radio for me.
WWDC should see Snow Leopard. If there's also a new iMac,
that's the way I'll solve the problem.
