I recommend going to a MarketPro computer show. If you can't find a screwdriver shop there, there aren't any. I just checked the website for the shop that, 5 years ago, built the computer I still use. The company, as such, still exists, but it doesn't appear as though they build boxes anymore.

Two system builders I know of online. MWave and Newegg. (I am not sure Newegg does it) Mwave used to build boxes and sell them as barebones units. It has just gotten cheaper to sell other vendors boxes though. One place to look for reviews is indeed Newegg. All their stuff have reviews on

I also see some are buying these cheap 10 netbooks (MSI,IBM,Sylvania) etc and they wipe out windows (they're sellin' cheap under $400 with 160gb and 16 with 1.5-1.6 speed cpus) and then they throw osX on it and get the drivers they need off the net and they've got a poorman mac ...waddaya thinka
