Tom will tell you they are more expensive, but when I check, crucial beats
datamem's prices.
When I checked, Crucial's prices they were high, sometimes very high. I
think it is silly to overpay when there is no difference in the product.
For years Crucial has claimed special sauce and I think
I second Crucial.

I second both Datamem and Crucial, and nominate OtherWorld. All have
good products. Buy from any one of them. My last online RAM purchase for
a PC was from datamem where I saved about 50% over Crucial. Depends on
the rate of the day. Sometimes Crucial is less, but
As someone who installed hundreds of sticks of memory / year for years,
it was my experience that there is different levels of quality of
memory and you pay for the difference... but not much in the case of
Crucial since it is the retail arm of Micron one of the largest mem

In case anyone cares,
(1) Crucial.com lists memory for the HP Pavillion a6600z for $23 for 2
GB card;
(2) datamem.com does not sell memory for HP a6600z;
(3) haven't looked at OtherWorld yet;
(4)
Crucial sells only first drawer and in my experience their memory's
performance and failure rate easily attests to that. I imagine Micron
sells it 3rd drawer productn unbranded or rebranded thru external channels
That is certainly the Crucial fable.
In 25 years of working with computers I
What about crucial.com they always seem to beat most prices - and be
careful sometimes memory has to be added in pairs.

I highly recommend crucial; very good service and excellent quality of
memory. I have probably bought about half a terabyte of RAM from them over
the past 5 years or so. Out of that, I think I had one bad stick, which
they replaced.

Crucial also offers a range of discounts, depending on whether you are
a repeat customer, business/reseller, etc.

One of the advantage of using Crucial is that they will offer to run an
automated scan of your computer and tell you *exactly* what you have and
what can be added/substituted.

I recommend crucial as well; just be aware that their scan is not always
accurate (though it usually is). It thought an averatec laptop of mine
had more memory slots than it did but that's the only mistake I've ever
seen from the scan which I've used over a dozen times. Their online
support
I second Crucial.

I use datamem.com. Good product
Go to crucial.com and check. It's quite possible the two slots may
need to be filled with a matching pair of rams.
