[CGUYS] iTunes purchases
I log in to iTunes from my 2 Macs my PC at work. Why does the Purchased window only show what music I've purchased with each individual computer? It's the same account, so shouldn't purchases made on my Mac show up on the PC? As I understand, I can authorize up to 5 machines to play the music. Several of us share out libraries at work, I'd like to be able to put my purchases in my PC library too. tia. david David Turk Manager, Preservation Imaging Services Indiana Historical Society Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center 450 W. You can drag anything into it that you want. You're also going to have to import the song into iTunes on the computers that you *didn't* buy it on. Just copy it/them onto a memory stick and import from there. Then drag it/them into Purchased. BTW, even though you can authorize 5 computers, with the new iTunes Plus, you can play them on any number of computer. They're DRM free. * ** List info, subscription management, list rules, archives, privacy ** ** policy, calmness, a member map, and more at http://www.cguys.org/ ** *
Re: [CGUYS] iTunes purchases
iTunes purchases are limited to the machine on which they were originally downloaded. The easiest way I know to get downloads from one machine to another is to Transfer them from the iPod by directly hooking it to each computer and selecting transfer purchases from the iPod. Another way is to burn a backup CD and sneaker net the files between machines. This also gives you a backup disk. Re: [CGUYS] iTunes purchases
You need to physically copy the folders with the purchased music to your other machines. You bring them in to the new iTunes via FileAdd New Folder to Library. Make sure you have the Copy Files to iTunes Music Folder When Adding to Library option checked in PreferencesAdvanced. When you first play one of the tracks, iTunes pops up your account info asking you if you want to authorize that group on this new machine and tells you how many of up to 5 machines you have authorized. [CGUYS] Upload speeds
Hi, I'm configuring a Logmein Hamachi VPN for a pal in DC and I cannot find any information about what Comcast's alleged upload speeds might be. Can you give me a clue? Re: [CGUYS] Upload speeds
There are different packages, but median might be 350kbps. I'm unaware of any method of finding out for sure, other than to run a few online speed tests and average. [CGUYS] Best touch typing tutor software for OS X ?
Does anyone have any experience with the various touch typing tutorial software available for OS X and can recommend one over the others ? [CGUYS] How to use an (OS X) computer for beginners...?
I should have added this to my last post about touch typing software recommendations. This person could also use some software tutorials designed for complete computer newbies on the use of a mouse and other parts of OS X and perhaps the internet. I know Apple has some online tutorials but in looking at some of them they seem more oriented for people who have used PC's etc before... not a raw beginner. Cost is not an issue. db * ** List info, subscription management, list rules, archives, privacy ** ** policy, calmness, a member map, and more at http://www.cguys.org/ ** *

Re: [CGUYS] Digital audio recorder
The Zoom and models like it from other manufacturers are designed for recording musical groups and have a lot of digital menu functions and capabilities that will overwhelm your client's and will cost you a lot more than you need for good quality voice recordings. Overkill which will cause you nothing but problems and unnecessary expense. Good pount, but not the H2. I think you are thinking of the H4. * ** List info, subscription management, list rules, archives, privacy ** ** policy, calmness, a member map, and more at http://www.cguys.org/ ** *
