The rerouting feature does have its limitations. For those of you familiar with the DC area, try going from, say, Reston, VA, to Ft. Myer on a route that uses I-66. Google will not let you do that, no matter how you try to force intermediate waypoints. So, it appears to be increasingly useful,

It seems you have no shortage of good advice here but: If I were you I'd look closer at each CPU hog and see what it's doing or if there are settings you could change to stop this behavior. For example, there are certainly setting in Camino you could alter, but I'd start by closing one tab at

I usually google processes I'm not sure of, more often then not the result is from http://www.liutilities.com/ which produces a program called wintasks. This program allows you to do what you are asking. Not sure about a freeware app that has these kind of options. Between using google and the
