I added the line:
NOZEROCONF=yes
in /etc/sysconfig/network
and restarted the network. Now route -en shows no DHCP route. So this fixes the
problem

I upgraded to initscripts-7.06-10mdk and replaced the ifup script with the latest from
the CVS.

I am not sure that your bug report is correct, since you only show the routing
table. Can you confirm otherwise that the dhcpclient has been run?
