I would start by validating your html code http://validator.w3.org/ (20 errors at the moment) Also validate your css code http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/ (26 errors at the moment) There is a good chance that you problems will either clear up or become obvious after you validate the page. [css-d] display 'filmstrip' at bottom of page
Dear list, I'm building a mockup for a magazine with jquery. The carousel generates a filmstrip in html (see below) on the page http://tijdschriftei.nl/ (user is jasper, pass is EImagazine (caps!)) But, I want the filmstrip seperated, on the bottom of the page, and with a grey background with width 100%. However, I can't seem te seperate the strip from the rest. Any pointers? It is rather complicated to execute but does work extremely well cross-browser. The Stu Nicholls article you pointed to is old. And more current versions of his menu that work cross-browser tend to be a kludge of CSS, CSS hacks, and tables. The container (.csc-textpic-imagerow) is 466 pixels wide. Each image is 101 pixels wide, with an additional 8 pixels padding (4 each side). The list items containing them (apart from the first column) have a left margin of 20 pixels. (4 * 109) + (3 * 20) = 496 pixels. Dear List, I have a strange occurence with an floating div. In Firefox and IE, on http://trouwvervoeronline.nl/bussen/rode-dubbeldekker/ the right div is embedded (because of the float:right attribute), but in Chrome it isn't. Anyone know why? Dear list, In Chrome a vertical line appears because the content is wider then the frame. The margin-top on the h2 is outside of the blue box (#header). That doesn't happen in IE, 'cause you have declared a 'height' on the div (triggers 'hasLayout'), and that prevents the margin of collapsing through. Try adding a 1px border at the top of the div. That will fix the issue. I *do* see a problem in IE 7 -- when you apply page zoom the background does not enlarge, making for an odd-looking display. This is a known IE 7 bug. I suggest adding an extra (IE-only?) wrapper around the entire contents, and putting your background image on that. It's only backgrounds on BODY that IE 7 does not zoom.
