I seem to have almost excatly the same problem except that I could not solve it
by removing the Cygwin-X folder. In this case during the reinstallation of the
xinit package the folder is recreated again and then the original error message
(xinit.sh exit code 3) reappears. The directory again
rs to "../xxNVIDIA*" folders didn't work.
(Windows still found "restored" the useless driver from a
DriverStore/Repository.)

Running the following lines let windows physical memory grow until no
more left (task-manager: physical memory). The taken memory is never
freed until os restart. This happens also while compiling huge
projects. Tested on three different Windows 7 x64 machines with actual

Have cron installed on my laptop so I just tested. And yes, that is
how @reboot works on Cygwin. It runs the job right after the cron
daemon is started, regardless how many times you restart the service.
On Linux it seems to detect that the system really was rebooted.

Just to make sure I just disabled Kaspersky and tested again. That is
not the cause of this problem. It would have surprised me a lot, since
nano and the echo command work as expected.
