Is there any chance that darktable will support Windows lnk-files aka
file shortcuts?
On Windows I use these a lot, and pretty much every application supports
them. As for GTK based applications, Gimp also doesn’t support them,
but Inkscape does.
The file format of the shortcuts is nothing

Thank you Eric! In the end I suspect that the problem was related to my
laptop and some glitch... shame on me!
Today, after a reboot, I tried both v3.4.0~git15.b2a685928 (latest stable)
and 3.4.0-1.1 (latest release, that you suggested) and both work fine: the
bug I reported is not showing up. I

Dear developers:
thank you very much for this great piece of software!
It offers chances, I'd never expected before to take advantage of raw
files. I'm using D500 & D850, Ubuntu 18.04, 64 bit, 32 GB RAM.

There you find the file: *darktable_3.4.0-1.1_amd64.deb* dated *december
25* 2020.
Maybe this will help you?

It seems to me, that the initial rating (when importing a picture
or folder) doesn't work anymore in darktable version 3.4 in a
Debian/GNU Linux system (which works fine in version 3.2.1).
My tests are: remove pictures, delete the xmp files of them and
import them again.
I changed the
The cache is in ~/.cache/darktable directory
But if it crashes after importing a filmroll, then it’s usually not the cache
but the library containing stuff darktable can’t process.
You might rename ~/.config/darktable to ~/.config/darktable.old and start from
scratch.
If that doesn’t work, you
