At least it was a sony dsc hx10v. Stupid thing broke. I thought the battery
just needed to be replaced. When I got the new battery (and then three
after that) it would charge and then the red flashing battery icon would

take a look a hugin.
I use hugin for panos, but it has a HDR module as well. Accepts JPG as
Input.

I export from DT as TIFF and merge these in Luminance. Then from
Luminance back in DT. Luminance can align images - some times it is good
some times not. If you use tripod and self trigger (don't touch the
camera) it should work well.

My camera takes braketed images but only saves as JPG. What would make
darktable the bomb is if you would allow us to make HDR images with JPG
images. LuminanceHDR allows for one to do this but the last time I tried
using it the resulting image turned out blurry.
