What is the number of worker threads set to in the dt preferences?

Does dt use CPU while hanging?

Yes, it does. One CPU core is 99% loaded all the time until operation
is finished. Interface is not responding.

Actually, I guess this must have something to do with thumbnail
creation. I can easily trigger the crash with
$ rm -rf ~/.cache/darktable
and then scrolling up throught the photo collection. Now darktable
always crashes immediately when I start it. I have attached a ggb
backtrace of this.
This may be a general load issue on your system. Maybe check the temperature
sensors and run a RAM test.
Cheers

Hi,
I just realized that since this year darktable is not setting the default
"creator" for imported pictures anymore. I have set my name in the "creator to
be applied when importing" field. And I actually never changed that. How can I
debug this?

Hallo,
is the exFAT-Filesystem supported by darktable?
In the past I used SD-Cards up to 16 GB which are formatted whith a
FAT-filesystem. My new card is a SDXC-card with 64 GB space. My camera
(Olympus) formatted the card with an exFAT-filesystem.
On the first import linux (Ubuntu 16.04)

heya,
worker_threads=8 does sound high. i'm using 2 here. note that all
image processing is parallelised to all cores independently of this
setting. this is just for slight overscheduling of different tasks, to
hide the few bits of scalar code between the parallel sections. i.e.
on a 16-thread

Hi,
I’m trying to find a concept how to use darktable from two computers
simultanously.
I learned from google, that one can either sync the library.db file or use one
one common.
I decided to use one common library.db.
So far I havn’t tried to use a second PC.
My questions:

Generally my system is very stable, even under heavy load. I do not
see crashes other than the one related to darktable, and that one is
limited in
