The command is not at issue here; the best parameters for the command after useradd console is what interests me if any are needed at all. I can use sudo to enter any account on this machine so will probably password protect the console once set up if that's the way I decide to go. Re: bittorrent help needed
I’d suggest that you’d be better off using an existing userid, rather than setting up a new “console” userid. I don’t know how the deluge package in Arch is set up, but it may already have a preferred non-root userid. Check /etc/passwd. And, if you haven’t already done so, read all the manual pages and take a look in /usr/share/doc/deluge* for anything relevant. As of now, no console userid exists in /etc/passwd. I will need to research how best to set that up after lunch. I'm trying this on archlinux. I installed deluge and python2-identity-service. After having run the iptables commands in the archwiki entry for deluge to open ports I ran deluge -s console. Then I ran deluge and was told I couldn't connect to localhost since the username didn't exist. I had also added the user to the deluge group earlier too. The network is wifi and going out over dns to comcast.net. Deluge will also not allow me to configure.
