I am unable to find any code doing this in the debian version of LTSP.
The only way this could happen is by preseeding the debconf value
ltsp-server/build_client to
libswingwt depends on libswt-gtk-3.1 and eclipse depends on
libswt3.1-gtk-java. The 2 libraries cannot be installed together.
if libswingwt is installed there is also no way to (re)install eclipse.

I use LTSP for work where sound at the terminals is not something I
want. All ESD and alsa dependencies should be unnecessary.
The LTSP packages are supposed to work out of the box, and sound is
intended to be one of the parts of LTSP that should work as
