This one was caused partially by an broken detection for gnome2 and the fact
that glademm defaults to gnome1 which is not (longer) available for debian.
I have now patched the source to correctly detect and emit gnome2 files. However
I cannot build my testcase because

To anybody wanting to debug this, you need to disable the
0005-Reduce-RT-prio-logging-severity.patch introduced in 0.9.10-2.
The patch hides the warning messages that show that the configuration
file is ignored.

I've tried with the latest SID kernel, but it didn't fix the problem.
The strange thing is that the Vanilla Kernel I'm using has had no problems on
another system and on Etch and on that Etch upgraded to Sid (dist-upgrade).
I honestly think that it isn't a Kernel problem, but a
