With squeeze (and lenny) I was able to use one automount map via ldap to
nfsmount fileserver:/home on client:/nfs/file

IMO, the problem is that if some things are debianized then the example
file, update.cf, needs to be debianized too.
With the following patch the example set of files work as expected:

After upgrading from 2.6.26 to 2.6.32 (backports) kernel I'm having trouble
booting. The "Assembling all MD arrays" portion of
/usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/local-top/mdadm needs to wait until all
disks are available. I tried using "udevsettle 10" which didn't seem to change
anything

In ainsl version 1.1 a fix was introduced to escape '+' characters. This
inadvertently prevented the -s o
-s is the default. Option two, a warning regarding
ntpdate with the -s option in the man page.

I had the same problem. After installing module-assistant the build
proceeded fine. The fix is to make fuse depend on module-assistant.
