Is there any update on this? I think it would be fantastic to see this
package included in Debian. I don't think it would take too much work

I was running Lenny and needed to upgrade my kernel to 2.6.30 for my
wireless card. However, after upgrading my kernel to 2.6.30 my
brightness keys no longer worked. I was also unable to adjust the
brightness with gnome-power-manager. I initially noticed the issue

I actual believe this is a problem with fontconfig not with poppler. So

packages to update: bwidget, checkpolicy, setools, tcl8.4, and tk8.4
Checkpolicy and setools are recommended by
selinux-policy-refpolicy-target but nothing recommends bwidget, tcl8,4

This is also happening on a Lenovo 3000 N100 w/ linux kernel 2.6.22-3-686 and
