I tried other machines, but the kernel refused to boot on any

It seems to be OK on Montecito-based machines.

that binutils-multiarch contains ld, as, etc., shouldn't
it provide binutils? Or be managed via
/etc/alternatives? This'd then solve bug #425574 as well.

I'm trying to get a fixed-frequency grey-scale monitor going on the external

VSYNC, HSYNC and level) The monitor does NOT do EDID or DDC.

Itanium machines have no floppy drive.

I recently upgraded xemacs21, and now I'm seeing frequent segfaults.
Here'a typical lisp backtrace:

the subject says it all: after recording a bit, and hitting stop instead of
pause, I wanted to reset levels then resume. So I pressed pause then record.
Audacity then hung, apparently waiting on a futex.
To reproduce:
Start Audacity.

In an installation with large numbers of machines, it's convenient to store SSH
public keys in LDAP. The lpk patch http://dev.inversepath.com/trac/openssh-lpk
allows this. I can understand not everyone would want this (not everyone
authenticates using LDAP
.
There is no `procedure'. I'm going along, reading emails, and then
there's a large one (maybe it has some mime attachments or something
... usually PDFs) and wl hangs.
Is there any way to get a lisp backtrace from a hung xemacs?

I'm not sure where teh problem is: in wl, elmo, flim, semi, or
what.
Tatsuya Hmm, could you please try the wl-beta package?
It still happens with wl-beta, but not quite as often.

For an i2000 (Merced), running on the VGA console, the initial splash
screen looks awful ... it seems to have lots of weird characters that
don't display on it. And the kernel seems to hang straight after
elilo has loaded it.

For what it's worth, I tried the `etch' installer from
http://ftp.au.debian.org/debian/dists/etch/main/installer-ia64/current/images/netboot.tar.gz
on the RX2200 with the same result.
I can boot via DHCP with a home-built zx1defconfig top-of-tree kernel
from kernel.org.
