there diffinitely is a bug somewhere
i have seen the same problem
at first 100% cpu is consumed for a long time
strace does not show anything
but ltrace shows a lot of memcpy/memmoves:
memmove(0x8a12b40, 0x8a17018, 1, 0x83407b0, 0)
