I have, since entering this report, tried KMail on two seperate systems
running Sid. I find that the ~/Mail directory is not touched or
created by version 1.8.2 that is currently in Sid.
Since KDE 3.4.2 is soon to be in Etch, I think my report may be safely
closed.
