Bug#454420: gitk does not work with git diff colors enabled

Ok, now I know that the actual bug is in my configuration. If

diff = true

is changed to

diff = auto

things start working again. So I guess the bug can be closed -- or might
become a wishlist bug, that gitk spits out an error message that points
to this potential problem instead of suggesting that the world has ended

the split would allow developers to develop their own solutions without

note that in ubuntu ltspfsd even depends on ltsp-client to prevent the
udev scripts being installed in normal systems (no matter if they are

imho the split is a good compromise for us all, i could keep the dep

urgently want the scripts in normal workstations, mario could work with
only the core package and users would not be able to break ther systems
accidentially.

Bug#454560: please add owner bugs to maintainer address view

2007-12-07 Thread Simon Richter

Hi,

Don Armstrong wrote:

They won't ever show up on the maintainer= page, because you aren't
the maintainer of those packages. However, it would be useful to allow
people to express or relationships in the queries (this doesn't
complicate the underlying code much) so you could say: give me bugs
where I'm the maintainer or the owner.

Could that be the default for the shorthand version (i.e.
bugs.debian.org/[EMAIL PROTECTED])?

 Certainly it would be useful.

We need a completion framework for translation which might or might not use
gettext in the back end. There were some discussions about this a while
ago, I think about the time we first got the line editor to use multibyte
characters, but I can't find them now. This is a big project somebody will
have to volunteer for.

Dear maintainers,

nvidia-kernel-source version 100.14.09 cannot be compiled on the latest kernel
version
(2.6.23-1-amd64). I have to use the older version of this package, as all
newer versions of the nvdia-packages let my system unexpectly freeze.
This might be related to nvidias or xorgs new ABI, I do not know. There is a
bugreport about this behaviour sent by me.

Anyway, according to this, I need the older packages get compiled, otherwise it
is no use for me, to upgrade to a newer kernel. Sorry for that !

2007-12-07 Thread Daniel-Constantin Mierla

Hello,

Rene Mayorga [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

Hi,

BTW regarding to your previous mail; I'm using postgresql and Radius
accounting with 1.2 and there is no problem, I did'nt try using it with

Reading the code, it handles that fine. The only problem I have is
that the main openser package will now depend on the radius libs.

to give more details here ...

Indeed, the acc can do recording to multiple backends in parallel:
syslog, sql server, radius and diameter (this is more or less
unmaintained) -- where is done actually, is given by module's
parameters. By default, acc module is compiled only with syslog and sql
backends support. The reason, as Julien said, radius support will
introduce a dependence of libradiusclient-ng which is not available as
package in all OS supported by openser.

There are discussions to eliminate this dependency by having a new
module as driver to communicate with radius server, and the other
modules to use a generic interface exported by this module. Same is for
SQL backends, there are drivers specific per implementation (now: mysql,
postgres, unixodbc) -- the modules that need access to SQL servers do
not depend on client libraries.

Now it is late to get it in upcoming 1.3, so it is postponed for the
following release.

Cheers,
Daniel

I have commit access at pkg-voip svn if you're busy I can add the proper
patch there.

I'll take care of it.

JB.

Bug#454729: Dell Wireless Control

Hi!

This is about the (not exactly new)

For my Laptop (Inspiron 9300), dellWirelessCtl doesn't support setting
stuff, afaict, although the keyboard hotkey works. A newer BIOS is not
available.

So I guess either hal shouldn't pretend that the wireless options exist, or
network manager should just stop trying if this stuff is not supported
instead of filling the syslog every few seconds.

Bug#454722: RM: postgresql-8.1 -- RoM; obsolete, superseded by postgresql-8.2

2007-12-07 Thread Martin Pitt
Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

As explained in [1], Lenny will ship with the latest PostgreSQL only,
which is currently 8.2, and will be 8.3 in a few weeks when it is released.

A while ago I filed bugs against packages to rebuild against the new
libpq soname and drop -8.1 specific dependencies. Of those, only two
are left:

 - nagios-pgsql (#419286): I will bump the severity of this to serious
 - postgresql-pljava (#419305): this package is hopelessly
unmaintained, not in testing, and already has three RC bugs; I'll
bump the severity of this bug as well.

So I think it's time to remove 8.1 from unstable now. I would
appreciate lowering the number of PostgreSQL packages which we have to
maintain.

FYI, due to the introduction of server/client metapackages, and 8.3
not changing the libpq soname, the switch to 8.3 will be pretty
smooth.

Thank you,

Martin

Bug#454749: slay goes on a rampage when invoked as a normal user

2007-12-07 Thread Erik Bernstein
Package: slay
Version: 2.6.1
Severity: important
Tags: patch

Hi,

with mean-mode enabled, slay forks infinitely when invoked as a normal
user. The introduced misuse trap should only match usernames without the
attached blanks.

In case of luser-punishment, the preceded su-command prevents slay
from killing. Instead it just prompts for the password (while the output
is redirected to /dev/null).

Severity: normal

In some cases when data is inserted into an mysql-db over a php-page the

I found the reason in a php-bug that is reported here:

No, I haven't. Should I?

Or perhaps you have disk corruption. Use debsums to find out.

Well, all the debsums for emacs22-common are OK, except for those

 Hi,

to me this sounds like the shlibs file in libxmlrpc has a too low version.
This would be a bug in libxmlrpc and not rtorrent. rtorrent would just need
a binNMU after libxmlrpc is fixed.

Well I already fixed this making rtorrent build-depend on a version
major to 1.0 of libxmlrpc (which is needed at least to make it work with
rtorrent) but still not uploaded, waiting for my sponsor.

That is fine.

OK. AFAICT these are the three relevant devices:

00:0a.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: nVidia Corporation Unknown device

Should be supported by the forcedeth module

All three modules are available during the installation, so they should
be loaded automatically.

Detect network card:    [E] I need to modprobe it myself before the cd start
 to detect the card.

What module exactly did you modprobe?

Detect hard drives:     [E] Doesn't detect my HD and the modules are up.

Could you send us the /var/log/syslog and the output of 'lsmod' for an
installation attempt?
You should be able to save that information to a file and then copy it to
a USB stick or something.

Even better would be if you could run the menu option Save debug logs in
the main menu of the installer after the disk detection step of the
installation and send us all the files that are in /var/log/ after that
(gzipped!).

If you get the network working and if you have another system from which
you can connect to your laptop, you can also retrieve these files using
the web option in Save debug logs.

I'd love to have an easy way to configure Tomcat with APR support. According to

we would need

 * OpenSSL libraries (already packaged as openssl)
 * JNI wrappers for APR used by Tomcat (libtcnative) (not yet packaged)

Building instructions can be found on the page, too.

Bug#449217: Re Bug#449217: backport request: Build-depends for libxmlrpc-c3-dev

2007-12-07 Thread Goswin von Brederlow
Hi,

the reason to do this would be for backports. For people wanting to use
the sid version on etch. The problem is that when you try the Build-Depends
do not show that you need a newer xmlrpc version and rtorrent fails
mid build.

It would just be nicer to reflect this.

Bug#454741: DoS by using keyserver mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

2007-12-07 Thread Michelle Konzack
Package: gnupg
Version: 1.4.5-1
Severity: important

Hello Maintainer,

while Working Offline, I am using n my gpg.conf the option

keyserver mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

which has a weird behaviour if you have set mutt to autoretrive gpgkeys.

If you are in a Mail-Thread, each time you hit an unknown GPG-Key,
it send a message, which mean, if the person has respond 10 times
in a thread, you will send out 10 requests for the key...

This is definitivly a DoS-Attack on the keyserver... specialy, if my
Outgoing will be automaticaly flushed, if my sendmail wraper find an
internet connection...

I have already accidently sendout 480 messages where around the half
of them are duplicates or more...

I think, gpg should store its requests in a cache and send only a new
request if it does not find the key in 10 days or so... (configurable)

Note: currently i am doing this with a sendmailwraper...
(see previously message to another problem with gpg)

GnuPG 1.4.5 email keyserver request

As you can see, I use courier imap as my MTA. I have read the manpage
to gpg but there is NO HINT, HOW to configure the From: email address.

Since I do not know, HOW gpg has gotten this bizzar E-Mail, I have used
a wraper script of

8--
#!/bin/bash

echo $* ${HOME}/Maildir/.POSTPONED/new/$(date +%s)
echo ${HOME}/Maildir/.POSTPONED/new/$(date +%s)
cat ${HOME}/Maildir/.POSTPONED/new/$(date +%s)

And then I have gotten this:

8--

To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Subject: GET 0x5EA01078

which look like gpg is doing a

grep ^${LOGNAME}: /etc/passwd |cut -d ':' -f5

currently I am using a sendmailwraper of

8--
#!/bin/bash

EXENAME=tdsendmailwraper

SERNO=$(date +%s)
LOGDATE=$(date --rfc-822)

for CNT in $(seq --equal-width 0 99) ; do
  FILE=/home/michelle.konzack/Maildir/.POSTPONED/new/${SERNO}_${CNT}
  if [ ! -f ${FILE} ] ; then break ; fi
done

FQDN=$(hostname --fqdn)
RFCDATE=$(date --rfc-822)

echo Received: by ${FQDN} (${EXENAME}); ${RFCDATE}  ${FILE}
echo Date: ${RFCDATE}  ${FILE}
formail -f -A Message-Id: -I From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ${FILE}

chown michelle.konzack: ${FILE}
8--

and set ${SENDMAIL} to this wraper to get this pig running, but I think,
this problem should be solved realy fast. Please note, that I am working
Off-Line and can not check signatures directly from the keyserver. This
is, WHY I am using keyserver mailto:; and if I go into a Internet-Cafe,
my POSTPONE folder will be automaticaly flushed.

Bug#454744: adduser refuse to create user even with --force-badname

2007-12-07 Thread Michelle Konzack
Package: adduser
Version: 3.97
Severity: normal

I need to install virtual-users on my courier-imap-server and must
install the $USER as

/home/[EMAIL PROTECTED]

but if I use:

8--
adduser --home /home/[EMAIL PROTECTED] \
--shell /bin/bash \
--uid 3186 \
--ingroup virtualusers \
--force-badname \
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
8--

I get this:

8--
adduser: To avoid problems, the username should consist only of
letters, digits, underscores, periods and dashes, and not start with a
dash (as defined by IEEE Std 1003.1-2001). For compatibility with Samba
machine accounts $ is also supported at the end of the username
8--

So how to create local hosted virtualusers?

Under Sarge it was working... and under Etch I need to edit /etc/passwd
/etc/shadow, /etc/group and /etc/gshadow by hand...

It seems, that --force-badname does not work.

It is not realy funny, since I have already 186 such virtualusers

Bug#449271: rtorrent: Specify minimum libxmlrpc-c3 version

2007-12-07 Thread Goswin von Brederlow
Hi,

to me this sounds like the shlibs file in libxmlrpc has a too low version.
This would be a bug in libxmlrpc and not rtorrent. rtorrent would just need
a binNMU after libxmlrpc is fixed.

Please investigate this and if so forward the bug and raise the severity.

Bug#454678: forwarded message from [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[ Sorry, forgot CCs to Ben and the BTS last night when I posted my reply.

---BeginMessage---

Ben,

Thanks for the bug report. I am off two minds about it as discussed below.
But as it does indeed create a crash / segfault, I am passing this on to the
R bug tracker. A suggested two-line patch is below; I tested the patch
against a 'vanilla' 2.6.1 source tree.

On 6 December 2007 at 19:32, Ben Goodrich wrote:

| Hi Dirk,

|
| args(utils:::edit.matrix)
| mat - matrix(rnorm(30), nrow = 10, ncol = 3)
| edit(mat, edit.row.names = TRUE) #crash

I can confirm that it crashes 2.6.0 and 2.6.1. I also spent the last little
while building a (non-stripped) debug version that reveals:

Now, two comments.

Firstly, we all prefer if R would not crash. So this may need some fixing.

Secondly, I think you are rather close to bordering on user error. As your
snippet shows, you need to invoke args on the non-exported edit.matrix to
learn about the edit.row.names argument. Moreover, you also know full well
from looking at this that this will only be true when there actually are
names set --- and you then proceed to call it when there are none. Guess
what: it blows up.

So we could fix this in a number of places. Here is one which I tested; R
Core may opt to apply this, or a better version, or to drop the issue:

Bug#454736: ITP: ttf-wqy-zenhei -- WenQuanYi Zen Hei The first open-source Chinese font for Hei Ti

2007-12-07 Thread ZhengPeng Hou
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Zhengpeng Hou [EMAIL PROTECTED]

* Package name: ttf-wqy-zenhei
Version : 0.2.15-1
Upstream Author : Qianqian Fang, Wen Quan Yi Board of Trustees
* URL : http://wqy.sourceforge.net/
* License : GPL
Description: WenQuanYi Zen Hei The first open-source Chinese font for Hei Ti
The WenQuanYi Zen Hei is the first open-source Chinese font
for Hei Ti, a sans-serif font style that are widely used for
general purpose Chinese text formatting, and on-screen
display of Chinese characters (such as in Windows Vista and MacOS).
Simple and elegant font outlines and slightly emboldened strokes
makes the glyphs presenting higher contrast and therefore easy
to read. The unique style of this font also provide a simple
interface for adding grid-fitting information for further
 fine-tuning of the on-screen performance.
  .
WenQuanYi Zen Hei contains arguably the largest number of Chinese
Hanzi glyphs of all known open-source outline Chinese fonts: it has
20194 Hanzi glyphs covering 97% of the Unicode CJK Unified
Ideographics . This font provides full coverage to the required
 code points for zh_cn, zh_sg, zh_tw, zh_hk and zh_mo locales. The
total vector glyphs in this font is 35206 including over 10,000
Hanguls, Japanese kanas, Latin characters and symbols from many
 other languages.
 .
The primary purpose of developing this font is to provide CJK
(Chinese-Japanese-Korean) users a visually pleasing, standard
compliant, platform independent and compact solution for displaying
and printing Chinese on their computers.
 .
This package has dropped the embedded bitmap font out.

Hi !

As it seems, at least the C binding of the library do not return NULL

Output with attached example is:
/nonexistent.mp3: safe file !

Bug#454493: Display PCI slot for nics, if available

2007-12-07 Thread Otavio Salvador
dann frazier [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:

...
In fact, as to Otavio's point, it probably makes sense to do the
module loading outside of hw-detect (e.g. his acpi-support-udeb
suggestion), and just let hw-detect use the interface if its
 available.

Yes, I think it's starting to makes sense to have something like that
and put all this in one cannonical place. Does someone objects if I
start to prepare this udeb for review?

...
We've had other requests to provide additional identification of NICs (see
#450605 and merged BRs) and so far we (or at least I) have been thinking of
some way to display the MAC address, possibly by allowing to switch between
display of the current descriptions and MAC address.

That would help some users, but I'd like to see us find a more general
way to display all the available information that a user might use for
identification. And I expect a separate display, or view for each
 may prove not to scale.

I do like the genearl principle of Geert's proposal:

  http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=450605#31

With the exception that I don't like splitting the option list from
the selection widget (and as Bastian points out, its not possible
 anyway).

 Some brainstorming:
  * Modify cdebconf to permit per-option descriptions, and use those
descriptions to provide details about each nic. Frontends could
use this to implement a more info button, or just include the
description text in-line.
  * Modify cdebconf to support multi-line choice fields. Make each
interface choice be a multi-lined option that includes things like
vendor, model, mac, slot.
  * Change the flow from select iface - configure iface to:
  select iface
v
display info about iface confirm
v
configure iface
This is probably the only one possible w/ today's cdebconf, but its
pretty non-intuitive.

I personaly like the description idea since it looks to be more
suitable for the way we have the dialogs now. Others?

The newest release of xscreensaver has a new saver called
'lockward'. This saver is not present in the Debian package.

More generally, there are several savers/hacks which appear in
the list of available savers, but are not actually installed (such as
m6502, Xmountains, Xsnow, SphereEversion, and others). Are there
 reasons for excluding particular savers?

The principal reason I'm interested in seeing 'lockward' in the
Debian package(s) is because I wrote it.

Hi Leo, this was my error, is actually fixed in my version but still not
released since I'm working on some others minor bugs, but in 5.04-2 you
will be able to use it (very very soon ;-) ).

Yes.

No.

No other text editor on my system does this. This is quite inconvenient and
might cause data loss, e.g.: launch Mousepad, open file, copy contents into
clipboard, close Mousepad, delete the file, believing the text is still in
the clipboard... and oops, it wasn't.

The solution here is to use xfce4-clipman-plugin. There is no other way to

Bug#324708: chkrootkit: Move /etc/chkrootkit.conf under /etc/package/

2007-12-07 Thread Jerome Warnier
Debian policy is quite clear on the subject:
10.7.2 Location
Any configuration files created or used by your package must reside
in /etc. If there are several, consider creating a subdirectory of /etc
named after your package.

If your package creates or uses configuration files outside of /etc, and
it is not feasible to modify the package to use /etc directly, put the
files in /etc and create symbolic links to those files from the location
that the package requires.

See http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-files.html#s-config-files

If I felt my /etc was full of files, I would not submit a bug against a
package which has only one file in it.
I would close this bug or tag is a wontfix.

It shouldn't be necessary in general, however, in some situations
not doing so leads to problems such as the one you're having if the
package has complex macros, etc.

One thing is sure--if cl.el really was miscompiled we would know
already, it's used by hundreds of packages.

Yes. I personally agree on that too. It makes more sense to me the

A patch :)

debports is ok for me.

Will try applying this at the weekend.

Hi,

Indeed, the acc can do recording to multiple backends in parallel:
syslog, sql server, radius and diameter (this is more or less
unmaintained) -- where is done actually, is given by module's
parameters. By default, acc module is compiled only with syslog and
sql backends support. The reason, as Julien said, radius support will
introduce a dependence of libradiusclient-ng which is not available as
package in all OS supported by openser.

Based on this I'll just enable radius and not diameter. I've found and
fixed a little bug in the diameter support while I was at it.

Bug#454726: xscreensaver-gl: New Saver 'lockward' Missing from 5.04 Release

2007-12-07 Thread Leo L. Schwab
Package: xscreensaver-gl
Version: 5.04-1
Severity: minor

The newest release of xscreensaver has a new saver called
'lockward'. This saver is not present in the Debian package.

More generally, there are several savers/hacks which appear in
the list of available savers, but are not actually installed (such as
m6502, Xmountains, Xsnow, SphereEversion, and others). Are there
reasons for excluding particular savers?

The principal reason I'm interested in seeing 'lockward' in the
Debian package(s) is because I wrote it.

Is this sufficient to you?

A complete unstable environment seems much more work. I can maybe setup

2007-12-07 Thread Gabor Gombas
Package: linux-image-2.6.22-3-686
Version: 2.6.22-6
Severity: normal

Hi,

After upgrading to linux-image-2.6.22-3, networking no longer works. In
fact, lspci does no longer show the network card at all.
linux-image-2.6.20-1 (version 2.6.20-3) works fine. dmesg and lspci for
both versions are below; I think the most significant part is this
change in dmesg:

 PCI: Bridge: :00:1e.0
- IO window: d000-dfff
- MEM window: fea0-feaf
+ IO window: disabled.
+ MEM window: disabled.
   PREFETCH window: disabled.

The network card (driven by 8139too) is behind that bridge...
The MB is an Asus P4P800S/SE.

 Bart,
 I'm packaging a python module,
 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=433270 is about a
java tool: so why did you close the bug? If it's for the name,

I realize now that it's different software. I should not have closed
this bug.

 I will
rename the source (along with binary) package to python-processing.

Yes that is a good solution.

Bug#454568: [Linuxwacom-discuss] Bug#454568: xserver-xorg-input-wacom + ksmserver = X crash

2007-12-07 Thread Brendon Higgins
Thank you. I didn't expect that to work (seeing how simple kcminputrc is), but
it did! Add another one to the tally.

This result is kinda perplexing, though. My first suspicion was that perhaps
something adjusting the mouse parameters was the culprit, so I removed the
[Mouse] section and tried that. Even with only the [Keyboard] section in the
file the problem persists. It seems only when the entire file is gone I can
login without hiccup.

So this is a workaround. Not perfect since I can't set startup numlock status
or mouse acceleration threshold, but these aren't too important.

Peace,
Brendon

Dirk Bierfeld wrote (Fri, 7 Dec 2007):
A friend of mine had the same problem that KDE causes an X crash. He
figured out that when removing ~/user/.kde/share/config/kcminputrc KDE
will start without any problem. Perhaps that will hepl. I either havn't
Xorg 7.3 nor KDE so I can't proof it, but it worked for someone else too
 at least.

(Wasn't sure whether to report here or to KDE devs. Here goes...)

I've got a weird problem. If I have the wacom drivers enabled in
Xorg.conf and login to KDE (4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-3) as normal the X server
will crash near the end of the KDE splashscreen, and I'm sent back to
the KDM login screen. This doesn't happen when I disable the wacom
  drivers in ServerLayout.

What's weirder is that X does *not* crash if I switch to a console VT
while KDE is booting, then switch back not long after booting has
finished. Then everything seems fine. But if I leave the screen in X
  while KDE boots, crash happens.

By going through the steps in startkde manually I've narrowed it down to
some point inside the call to ksmserver. Something ksmserver starts
seems to puke with the wacom driver for some reason. I'm not sure how
to go about narrowing it down further than that, though I want to.
Advice on an approach to take would be appreciated.

Xorg.0.log that ends in such a crash is attached, but it doesn't appear
  to be very informative.

Hi!

I have been analyzing packages for the piuparts test, and have
observed that lyx-common fails the piuparts because it doesn't purge
some files.

The gzipped log of the piuparts run for lyx-common is
attached. The problem is that the process

Install Etch lyx-common - upgrade to sid - purge

seems to let the following files remain unremoved:

   /etc/lyxrc owned by: lyx-common

Please consider fixing this bug, as it is a Lenny release
recommendation [1].

Thanks.

Bug#445834: eGroupWare 1.4.002 still in experimental in Debian

2007-12-07 Thread Peter Eisentraut
Am Montag, 3. Dezember 2007 schrieb Ralf Becker:
by chance I've seen this bug explaining why eGroupWare still sits in
experimental. Is there a way to automatically subscribe me to these kind
of bugs, so I or the eGroupWare project in general can react?

To subscribe to bugs (and other package events, as you choose), see
http://packages.qa.debian.org/e/egroupware.html. Put your email address in
the box on the left side a bit down.

Some first comments on the issues you mentioned:

The list of issues I received from Carsten Wolff after he worked on upgrading
some installations. I cannot comment on the personally.

 - There is no migration path from the old LDAP addressbook to the new
   one.

 The releasenotes (www.egroupware.org/wiki/releasenotes1.4) contain a
link describing the changes in addressbook
 (www.egroupware.org/wiki/AddresbookAccountsConcept) which contains at
the end a link describing how to Update an LDAP based addressbook
 (www.egroupware.org/egroupware/index.php?menuaction=phpbrain.uikb.view_arti
cleart_id=57).

As LDAP is used by quite a small percentage of our users (with usually a
high sysadmin skill level), we choose to not provide a more automatized
 procedure for the upgrade.

There also a readme describing the new LDAP addressbook backend, linked
right where you switch the addressbook from SQL to LDAP (also offering
 automatized export SQL -- LDAP):
 www.egroupware.org/egroupware/addressbook/doc/README

 - Addressbook ACLs change meaning without notice, meaning people won't
be able to read what they used to be able to.

This might be an other documentation issue, as there are some reasons
not to do an automatized conversion: it might not always do what's
desired. The issues can be resolved easily by each user by moving the
contacts he want to share into the appropriate group addressbook. We
might have an automatic solution moving all non-private contacts which
are available via a group-grant to other group-members, it the
respective group addressbook. We choose not to do that automatic, as it
might not always give you the expected result, eg. when you made a
contact available to multiple groups, while other people made there
contacts available to an other set of groups.

There's been several mails on the lists describing in detail what to do:
3 clicks by each user or one line of SQL by the admin and the issue is
 fixed

 - Shared folders no longer work with Felamimail and Courier IMAP.

Unfortunately the FMail developer abandoned the current FMail codebase
and noone else fixed that bug so far, thought I'm not even sure there's
a bug report for it in the projects bug tracker.

 - icalsrv is completely broken.

Really. You are talking about 1.4.002? Many people reported it working
better then ever (specially with Lightning/Sunbird) in 1.4.002. There
was a bug with one of the other iCal clients with the content-type,
which was fixed after 1.4.002 in svn and which will be included in the
 next maintainance release 1.4.003

To my point, this an issue that you have to fix at your program's compilation,

Bug#454745: star: fails on setting xattr on symlink

2007-12-07 Thread Václav Ovsík
Package: star
Version: 1.5a67-1.1
Severity: important

Hi,
I'm playing with selinux. Star is considered only tool on Debian (AFAIK)
capable of backuping/copying selinux contexts (stored as xattrs in
filesystems). When I tried to copy filesystem with star found, that star
is not capable to handle xattr of symbolic links (it does dereference).
This is setxattr/lsetxattr/getxattr/lgetxattr problem.
The problem is solved in newer upstream versions, at least version
1.5a75 from CentOS is ok.
Please upgrade to more recent version of star.
Best Regards.

Bug#454712: libgphoto2-2 -- Doesn't purge all files after piuparts Install+Upgrade+Purge test

2007-12-07 Thread Kumar Appaiah
Package: libgphoto2-2
Version: 2.4.0-8
Severity: important
User: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Usertags: piuparts-stable-upgrade piuparts-stable-upgrade-20071130

Hi!

I have been analyzing packages for the piuparts test, and have
observed that libgphoto2-2 fails the piuparts because it doesn't purge
some files.

The gzipped log of the piuparts run for libgphoto2-2 is
attached. The problem is that the process

Install Etch libgphoto2-2 - upgrade to sid - purge

seems to let the following files remain unremoved:

   /etc/hotplug not owned
   /etc/hotplug/usb not owned
   /etc/hotplug/usb/libgphoto2owned by: libgphoto2-2
   /etc/shadownot owned
   /usr/share/hal owned by: libgphoto2-2
   /usr/share/hal/fdi owned by: libgphoto2-2
   /usr/share/hal/fdi/preprobenot owned
   /usr/share/hal/fdi/preprobe/10osvendor not owned

WARNING: Just to make a known point again, to be sure: Please note
that directories not belonging to libgphoto2-2 alone should be removed
only if they are empty.

Please consider fixing this bug, as it is a Lenny release
recommendation [1].

Thanks.

Kumar

Bug#454756: wine: Missing 32bit support libraries

2007-12-07 Thread Ben Hodgetts
Package: wine
Version: All
Severity: important

Wine, when compiled from source (upstream source) shows that Debian is missing
certain dependencies which cause loss of functionality in Wine on x86_64. These
are libpng, libcups, libcapi20, libhal and openssl. This means that 32bit
support packages need to be made for Debian for Wine to work properly (just
like there is currently a lib32asound(-dev), etc to give ALSA support).
