Bug#409593: ITP: libengine-openssl-tpm -- openssl engine utilizing tpm as a backend

2007-02-04 Thread Joshua Rubin
Package: libengine-openssl-tpm
Version: 0.4-1
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: libengine-openssl-tpm
  Version : 3.7.2
  Upstream Author : (unknown)
* URL or Web page : http://trousers.sourceforge.net
* License : GPL
Description : openssl engine utilizing tpm as a backend
This is a simple openssl engine that uses the TPM found in many
 IBM\Lenovo computers.

This is a very simple package including an engine for openssl and a
utility to create a key with a tpm. I am unsure if there should be a
-dev package or not, since I would not expect any package to link to
this. This package depends on libtspi1 which has ITP #409578. Here
is the contents of my current package:

/usr/bin/create_tpm_key
/usr/lib/engines/libtpm.so.0.0.0
/usr/lib/engines/libtpm.la
/usr/lib/engines/libtpm.so
/usr/lib/engines/libtpm.so.0

Thank you,
Joshua Rubin

Bug#409479: ppp: [INTL:da] Updated Danish debconf translation

2007-02-04 Thread Christian Perrier
I am not sure how what repo is Marco using, but if anyone cares i have
been keeping track of ppp's changes (and sybcing with releases) in
darcs. A copy of my repo is available and can be browsed[1] with a
regular browser or cloned/branched/got via darcs:

 darcs get --set-scripts-executable
 http://users.alioth.debian.org/~eddyp-guest/darcs/ppp/

OK. Given the recent answer by Marco, I think we can go for a short
call for translations with a deadline like Feb 8th 23:59 if the call
is posted today.

Eddy, would you mind posting it ?

I think that you can do both a call for updates:

podebconf-report-po --summary --deadline=Feb 8th 23:59 UTC

And a call for new translations:

podebconf-report-po --call --deadline=Feb 8th 23:59 UTC

Bug#408818: eth1

2007-02-04 Thread Phill Thorpe
Hi there de-buggers

Ive lost the bug report number. Im the guy
that had the problem where the installer could
only give me an ethernet connection when I ran with:
install interface=eth1

Anyway I reinstalled Deb and it worked correctly the
second time. Could this be because there already
was a Debian OS installed the second time and the installer got the
settings from the OS?
The first time I installed onto a blank hard drive.

I did put a couple of:
set -x
into the file ethdetect
not sure if I put them in the right places or
in fact Im not sure if the was the right file.

If anybody wants to give me clear instructions,
or point me to a URL with clear instructions I will
do it all again from a blank hard drive and see what
happens and what we can find out.

Anyway Im not particularly concerned about it now,
as Ive got everything I want and thats a good operating
system.

Thanks and regards
  Phill.

Bug#409597: wine wont startup, with every thing.

2007-02-04 Thread Paul van der Holst
Package: wine

Version: 0.9.29-1

Severity: grave

Every time I want to start wine, I get the following error. I have tried to
remove / purge the files but nothing helped so far.

Also search Google or something won't help either.

Hopefully it is a simple error, though kind of irritating.

I am using the latest debian unstable version..

Thanks,

Paul

Thank you for the package update you did, it looks fine.
I'm not inactive, I just didn't update this package yet.
Daniel feel free to sponsor his package it looks fine besides the
changelog/nmu/maintainer/uploaders

things. He even incorporated my patches to fix the directory
search for some files that was (and still is broken) upstream.

Of course, this should not be necessary. On installation the context

/var/lib/texmf/web2c/pdftex, but it seems that one is not found. What is

If you actual _can reproduce_ then file a new bugreport.

Bug#409598: linux-image-2.6.18-4-amd64: 64bits kernel + 32bits userspace: DRI doesn't work

2007-02-04 Thread Xavier Bestel
Package: linux-image-2.6.18-4-amd64
Version: 2.6.18.dfsg.1-10
Severity: normal

Hi,

when using the -amd64 kernel image with 32bits userspace, and launching
GL applications:
- the screen is garbled (the content of 3D windows is splattered all
  around the screen).
- the perf is rather weak (glxgears gives 2000fps, whereas in pure
  32bits it's 4000fps).

I'm using an R300, with free drivers from unstable/experimental, DRI is
enabled.

Thanks,

Hello,

I try to get a virtual server going using openvz. I have an empty file system

So I did

kauz:~# vzctl --verbose create 101 --ostemplate gentoo-20060317-i686-stage3 \

After that, I find the virtual server's entire file system below
/var/lib/vz/private/101 . The directory /flish/101 is created, but remains
empty. When I vzstart, it does access the root file system below
/var/lib/vz/private/101 .

Bug#409602: bumprace locks up when game over during crash

2007-02-04 Thread Bas Wijnen
Package: bumprace
Version: 1.5.2-1
Severity: grave
Justification: causes non-serious data loss

I crashed (in 1-player mode) my ship during the last ticks of the clock, so
that Crashed and timeout were on screen simultaneously. After that, it
asked me to enter my name for the high score list, but the keyboard was not
working. I switched to a vc to kill the program, after which the resolution
of my desktop was wrong, and the mouse was no longer working. I managed to
shut down the running programs using keyboard shortcuts, but I don't expect
normal users to be able to do this. They'd have to restart the computer, or
at least X, which is why I consider this a data-loss bug. Feel free to
downgrade the severity if you disagree. It is a very rare situation after
all.

Bug#383470: rrdtool generates overlarge graphs.

2007-02-04 Thread Yuri D'Elia

On 4 Feb 2007, at 03:04, David Martínez Moreno wrote:

Hello, Yuri. Could you please explain yourself a bit?

First of all, do you experience yet the problem? I would need to
know
further your case in order to reproduce it. Is it associated with
a specific
dataset, or is it erratic and happens with several sources? Does
14all.cgi

uses rrdtool graph or some binding to generate the graphs?

I've been experiencing the bug for several weeks, then reported it,
and then it continued to be reproducible for a couple of months.
Due to my lack of time and some other problems with rrdtool graphs in
general I switched to a custom solution, so I no longer use rrdtool
since a long time.

The setup at that time was a pretty common mrtg+rrdtool+14all.cgi
setup. 14all.cgi uses the rrdtool perl bindings provided by the
rrdtool package. 14all.cgi is/was a stable package (it wasn't updated
in years).

The problem wasn't associated with any specific dataset. It happened
on any source that it was monitored, but it happened occasionally (I
can speculate it depended on the dataset, since the problem was
consistent). One of the possible results is still here:

  http://www.yuv.info/~wavexx/tmp/index.png

(there's some referrer checking, but it's still valid: access it
directly).

Unfortunately I don't have any means to check if the problem is still
there. As for my other reports about rrdtool, if you can't get more
evidence, close them. I can't debug them now.

Thanks

This package is one of the very last not using po-debconf.

As it seems, Simon, that you don't intend to remove that debconf note,

I'm ready to do so and prepare the whole patch for you. Indeed, I
*will* do it, either by a NMU or by sending you the whole patch if you
prefer a normal maintainer upload to happen.

Without news, I will initiate the switch to po-debconf tomorrow.

Following the introduction of linux-2.6, Linux patches packages started
being renamed too. Please follow by renaming to linux-patch-openvz, for
 consistency.

Hello,
I could reproduce this on pergolesi.debian.org's amd64 chroots with
1.4.4 however there is currently some stuff missing for properly
debugging it. I have emailed debian-admin to get it installed.

It seems to be fixed in 1.6.x. - Could you install libgnutls13 from
experimental and verify that you cannot reproduce it with this version
either?

Bug#409607: FTBFS: missing versioned build dependency on libgnomevfs2-dev

2007-02-04 Thread Mike Hommey
Package: gedit

Severity: normal

During a build for experimental, I got the following error:

gnome-vfs-2.0 = 2.16.0
) were not met:

Requested 'gnome-vfs-2.0 = 2.16.0' but version of gnome-vfs is 2.14.2

Sounds like a versioned dependency on libgnomevfs2-dev should be added.

Ohh I thought it was essential. I'll add it as a recommend.

If you try to add cron-apt to a machine which doesn't have cron, it
would be nice to get a little prompt from apt-get.

Hmm. I wonder where I should add that one.

Bug#408981: samba: smbd 3.0.23a and later does parse multiple backends in passdb backend

2007-02-04 Thread Steve Langasek
On Tue, Jan 30, 2007 at 07:04:59AM +0100, Christian Perrier wrote:
The samba packaging team decided to include code for fixing smb.conf
*when that file contains the (wrong) value we were providing by
 default on sarge*, namely:

 passbd backend = tdbsam, guest

We *only* fix the default provided smb.conf file, *not* user crafted
smb.conf file, to respect the wise Debian package mantra: thou shalt
 not change user-modified settings.

More precisely, we fix any settings that include the (already deprecated)
'guest' backend as a trailing option.

But in a case of using multiple backends other than guest, I don't think we
should presume to auto-upgrade.

  I have

  passdb backend = ldapsam:ldap://localhost, tdbsam

You should remove the comma and everything will work as before. Please
note, however that tdbsam here is now useless.

I doubt it will, it will probably still be broken because the passdb backend
value is still being parsed as a single value, not a list.

Anyway, I think the suggestion of a NEWS item or a debconf error message (in
the case of a comma-separated list that we can't auto-migrate) is a good
one. I know you won't be happy about adding a debconf template at this late
stage, Christian, but even untranslated it would probably be better than
giving users no warning on upgrade.

Bug#409612: xlibs-data: Modifier mappings broken

2007-02-04 Thread tuomov
Package: xlibs-data
Version: 1:7.1.0-11
Severity: important

The modifier mappings in stock keyboard layouts are broken.
For details, I'll just attach the Ion FAQ entry below from
http://iki.fi/tuomov/ion/faq/entries/Modifier_releases.html.
(I have not myself experienced that problem, though -- I don't
use Xkb crud at all, because customisation of Xkb based layouts
is too laboursome, difficult, undocumented etc. -- but users have
experienced it on various systems, and this seems the easiest
channel to report the problem.)

---

_Ion doesn't notice that a modifier has been released
(in actions that use like `kpress_wait`, such as META+C,
or in “grabmenus”)._

This is most likely to be an X bug/keyboard misconfiguration,
when you have changed the “META” key of Ion to Mod4, or
something else that supposed has one of the Win-keys bound to
it. For some reason, some Xorg comes with some totally broken
stock keyboard layouts that define multiple keycodes for the
`Super_L` and such “keysyms”, one of them spurious. However,
various part of X or Xlib can not handle that, and report the
wrong keycode when queried.sup1/sup

To check if this is the case, first run `xmodmap` to check
what key is bound to the Mod4 (or perhaps Mod3 depending
on the configuration) modifier. You may see a line like
this:

mod4Super_L (0x7f), Hyper_L (0x80)

The number 0x7f=127 is the keycode, and this is highly likely
the wrong keycode. Check with `xmodmap -pke|grep Super_L`
to see what keycodes have `Super_L` bound to them. If you
see something like this, your keymap is misconfigured:

keycode 115 = Super_L
keycode 127 = NoSymbol Super_L

The keycode 115 is the keycode for the real left Win key,
and 127 is spurious. However, the modifier subsystem only
seems to see the latter. Putting the following commands
in `~/.Xmodmap` and runnning `xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap` should
fix the issue. You may also want/need to repeat for the
other Win keys (`Hyper_L` and 0x80=127 in our example case).

remove mod4 = Super_L
keycode 127 = NoSymbol
add mod4 = Super_L

(The `remove` command is needed for some reason to not confuse X.)
Unless your system configuration is totally weird (and I wouldn't
put it past systems built to run Gnome), next time you start X,
`~/.Xmodmap` should be loaded automatically. On a working modifier
configuration running `xmodmap` should display a line like below
(0x73 following `Super_L` being the important part).

mod4Super_L (0x73)

---

sup1/sup `XKeysymToKeycode` in particular can only
return one keycode. However, `XGetModifierMapping` should
be able to report more, but for some reason doesn't.
Maybe it uses the former.

This is one of the known bugs with Mesa software rendering which are

It seems mythtv uses actually both (GL for menu rendering) - I was now
able to trigger a similar segfault without any video running, just by
skipping through the menus:

I have a machine with an Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 processor, and when I start
'kdetv', the mechine reboots immediately. Other TV viewers ('xawtv', 'tvtime'
and 'zapping') do not crash the machine (although none of them works good enough
to display a TV image). I use the 'nv' x.org driver.

Bug#409472: ttf-dejavu: Condensed fonts not working

2007-02-04 Thread Ben Laenen
I have also a laptop running sid, and kde. I am able to use DejaVu
Serif Condensed font. I don't fully understand why desktop is unable
 to use the font.

 Please advise.

Two possible causes:
* you're using an old DejaVu version ( 2.9)
* you're not using the newest fontconfig (2.4.2).

The reason why:
we set in DejaVu 2.9 the so called preferred family and preferred
subfamily tags. That didn't really affect anyone back then since there
was nothing that supported it in the Linux world. The idea behind these
preferred families is that some environments only support four styles
of the same font (regular, italic, bold and bold italic). Any other
style that would belong to that family cannot be accessed. Hence we
have two different family names for the normal and the condensed
faces.

example in dejavu:
sans book: family: dejavu sans; subfamily: book
sans condensed book: family: dejavu condensed sans; subfamily: book

However, more advanced programs can handle more than four font styles,
so you want to be able to tell in a font that condensed fonts are
really from the same family as the regular ones. That's why preferred
family/subfamily was added: these ones have the names advanced
programs should use.

example in dejavu:
sans book: pref. family: dejavu sans; pref. subfamily: book
sans condensed book: pref. family: dejavu sans; pref. subfamily:
condensed

As said, no-one probably noticed these new tags until fontconfig 2.4.2
came out: fontconfig now suddenly started using the preferred families
of a font. Which had the consequence that all software depending on
fontconfig now all saw the condensed sans fonts in the one big dejavu
sans family.

Now, unfortunately Qt (and thus also KDE) doesn't support condensed
fonts variants in the same family. Consequence: no condensed fonts from
dejavu in KDE anymore.

So after this little history, the possible solutions if you want to have
condensed:

* fix Qt -- the only proper way, but the most difficult one of course.
* patch fontconfig to disable preferred families, bug #401411 can help,
but then you'll disable them for all other fonts and for gnome (which
supports more styles in the same font a little bit better)
* or just don't upgrade to fontconfig 2.4.2 and keep using 2.4.1
* patch DejaVu to remove the preferred family tags.

I hope this clarifies the complete situation about this and explains why
people get different results sometimes.

Greetings
Ben

a NMU of your package to fix its pending l10n issues.

Bug#409619: synaptic: text width set to 80 columns

2007-02-04 Thread Antonio Regidor García
Package: synaptic
Version: 0.57.11.1+b1
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

The text in the package description window is set to a fixed width (or line
lenght) of 80 columns.
Maybe this is ok for a console program, but for a GUI program it wastes a lot
of screen space at
small font sizes (in my system a half of the description window is wasted).
Please, don't set the
text to a fixed width, wrap it to the window. Maybe this is not a problem of
synaptic itself,
simply the descriptions are written this way, but they can be easily adapted to
synaptic replacing
\nletter with letter using a script.

Thanks and greetings

Antonio Regidor García

It seems mythtv uses actually both (GL for menu rendering) - I was now
able to trigger a similar segfault without any video running, just by
 skipping through the menus:

As a workaround, I think you can set it up to use Qt instead of GL for
the menus. GL probably doesn't provide much benefit without hardware
acceleration anyway.

Bug#408981: samba: smbd 3.0.23a and later does parse multiple backends in passdb backend

2007-02-04 Thread Christian Perrier

Anyway, I think the suggestion of a NEWS item or a debconf error message (in
the case of a comma-separated list that we can't auto-migrate) is a good
one. I know you won't be happy about adding a debconf template at this late
stage, Christian, but even untranslated it would probably be better than
giving users no warning on upgrade.

We can give it a try. Would you mind proposing a wording and I can try
handling the interaction with translators?

Bug#409620: syslog-ng doesn't display program name for gconfd

2007-02-04 Thread Marc-Jano Knopp
Package: syslog-ng
Version: 2.0.0-1
Severity: normal

Subject: syslog-ng: Does not print program name
Package: syslog-ng
Version: 2.0.0-1
Severity: normal

As opposed to sysklogd-1.4.1-18, syslog-ng2.0.0-1 does not print the program
name for
gconfd (and maybe other programs) (both packages with default configuration):

,[ /var/log/messages, written by sysklogd (wrapped) ]---

| Feb 4 12:57:34 pc9 gconfd (mjk-unsafe-5403): starting (version 2.16.0), pid

| /gconf.xml.mandatory to a read-only configuration source at position 0
[...]
| Feb 4 13:02:31 pc9 (mjk-unsafe-6439): Exiting
|
`

The difference can be easily seen in a direct juxtaposition:

  sysklogd : Feb 4 12:58:20 pc9 gconfd (mjk-unsafe-5403): Exiting
  syslog-ng: Feb 4 13:02:31 pc9 (mjk-unsafe-6439): Exiting

Using the template

  template($ISODATE $HOST [$FACILITY:$LEVEL] \tPROG: $PROGRAM, PID: $PID, MSG:
$MSG\n);

the output looks like this:

,[ /var/log/messages, written by syslog-ng with a template (wrapped) ]---
|
| 2007-02-04T13:15:31+01:00 pc9 [syslog:notice] PROG: syslog-ng, PID: 5893,
MSG:

,
| MSG: (mjk-unsafe-9003): starting (version 2.16.0), pid 9003 user 'mjk-unsafe'
|
`

Strangely enough, the process that's called gconfd in sysklogd's output is
actually shown as

  /usr/lib/libgconf2-4/gconfd-2

in ps's output.

To get repeated outputs of gconfd, I started

  firefox gconftool --shutdown

after (re-)installing each sys*log* package.

And after re-installing sysklogd, I killed syslog-ng manually (that's probably
a bug in a postinst or prerm script which I'll report separately).

I chose severity normal, as the missing program name can make debugging
difficult if the logged program is not in memory anymore, so that it cannot
be found by the displayed PID anymore.

Bug#398877: vm should depend on emacs21 *OR emacs-snapshot*

2007-02-04 Thread Romain Francoise
Manoj Srivastava [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:

No, that would mean that working under emacs-snapshot is
supported. While VM might indeed work with emacs-snapshot, it is
not really something I support, since I don't yet run
emacs-snapshot, and a bleeding edge emacs is not something I want
 to be saddled with supporting.

That doesn't make much sense; if you're serious about this you
should also skip byte-compilation for emacs-snapshot in your install
script, and avoid registering VM's entry points (in vm-init.el) when
running in emacs-snapshot. At the moment, having emacs21 installed
alongside emacs-snapshot is enough to make your vm package support
emacs-snapshot.

See dictionaries-common for an example of a package that stays off
emacs-snapshot completely.

Thanks,

All releases of setserial since 2.15 use the file /etc/serial.conf to
configure the serial ports. You can edit it to your own likings, or use the
automatic serial port configuration, which is the recommended way of doing
it.
msgstr
Tódalas versións de setserial posteriores á 2.15 empregan o ficheiro /etc/
serial.conf para configurar os portos serie. Pode editalo ao seu gosto, ou
empregar a configuración automática dos portos serie, que é o xeito
recomendado de o facer.

Bug#409217: apt-proxy now fails to deliver Release.gpg to sarge boxes

2007-02-04 Thread Chris Bell
Apt-proxy-v2 is retrieving and updating the file Release.gpg but not
delivering it on demand to boxes running either sarge or etch, although I
can see the file in the normal location within apt-proxy cache. I suspect it
is not found because apt-proxy is searching in the wrong places.

Bug#408929: emacs21: crash on spam

2007-02-04 Thread Romain Francoise
Steve Langasek [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:

I've tagged this bug security, because it wasn't clear to me
whether this was a potentially exploitable problem. Do you think
 that tag applies here?

Yes, I think it does. Crashing Emacs is a denial of service attack
against the various applications that run inside it, and can cause
data loss... Whether code execution is actually possible, I don't
know.

(On the other hand, VM should not display images by default, but
that is a separate issue.)

Bug#409623: gallery2: Upgrade enables php4 while php5 is enabled

Hi,

during upgrade of gallery2 I encountered the following message:

It seems that postinst enabled php4.load even if php5.* exist as enabled apache

Please adapt the postinst script in this matter.

Bug#402592: foo

2007-02-04 Thread Martin Schulze
tags 402592 wontfix upstream
severity normal
thanks

After being pestered about this bug I've contacted Werner on this regard.
He told me that this can happen with all GNU utilities and is an inherent
feature as they all operate without fixed limits whenever possible.
For example, a user ID in OpenPGP or X.590 can be 4GB large...

His suggestion: use ulimit if you face such problems.

Thus, adding tags and adjusting the severity.

Regards,

Joey

Bug#409622: os-prober unmounts partitions unnecessarily (linux-boot-prober)

2007-02-04 Thread The Abattoir

Package: os-prober
Version: 1.14
Severity: wishlist

linux-boot-prober unmounts mounted partitions unnecessarily when run
with the '-mounted' parameter. I'd already spoken to someone on the
d-i list(i can't find that thread now), and was asked to submit the
patch through the BTS. I've attached the patch to 50mounted-tests.
I've tested the patch and it works well on my system.

Thank You

This is one of the known bugs with Mesa software rendering which are
being investigated upstream (but still not fixed even in the latest
releases). Are you sure mythtv isn't using OpenGL instead of Xv?
It seems mythtv uses actually both (GL for menu rendering) - I was now
able to trigger a similar segfault without any video running, just by
  skipping through the menus:

As a workaround, I think you can set it up to use Qt instead of GL for
the menus. GL probably doesn't provide much benefit without hardware
 acceleration anyway.

I actually double checked this after sending the mail and it *is* using
the Qt renderer (by default and I never changed this) - it still crashes
in OpenGL code, which puzzles me.

Bug#409628: bastille: Bronken dependency on perl-tk

2007-02-04 Thread Antonio Regidor García
Package: bastille
Version: 1:2.1.1-13
Severity: normal

Hi,

When starting bastille in a gnome terminal I obtain the following message and
the program exits:

WARNING: /usr/bin/perl cannot find Perl module Tk.
The above module(s) is/are required to correctly display
the Bastille User Interface. If you are unable to find a
pre-compiled module for your OS, they can be found at:
   http://www.cpan.org/modules/01modules.index.html
If you installed the modules in another installation of
perl besides the one listed in the error message, you may
override Bastille's search path by setting the
$CORRECT_PERL_PATH environment variable to the directory
that the desired perl binary is located in.
If you don't want to use the default X11 interface then
run 'bastille -c'. For more information on available interfaces
see bastille(1m) or run 'bastille -h'

The problem dissapears when I install perl-tk. Can you fix the dependencies?
Thanks

Antonio

Bug#409627: ITP: vim-addon-manager -- command line manager of Vim addons

2007-02-04 Thread Stefano Zacchiroli
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Stefano Zacchiroli [EMAIL PROTECTED]

* Package name: vim-addon-manager
  Version : 0.1
Upstream Author : Stefano Zacchiroli [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL :
svn://svn.debian.org/svn/pkg-vim/trunk/packages/vim-addon-manager
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: Ruby
Description : command line manager of Vim addons

vim-addon-manager is a tool for managing addons for the Vim
  editor.
  .
Using the vim-addons command line the user can list the addons
installed on its system (i.e. which are registered in the vim addons
registry) and install or uninstall each of them in its per-user
  configuration directory (~/.vim).
  .
Override of addons which are enabled per default on the system, so
that they are not enabled for the current user, is possible too.

Draft packages are available at http://people.debian.org/~zack/vim/.
Comments are welcome, especially on both the descriptions above and my
ruby-related choices, since I'm not familiar with any ruby specific
packaging issues.

Cheers.

Hi Mark,

there is no question anymore if to wait or not to wait. But I've
prepared a new version of the package, cause we got a new translation.
Please find updated package here:

http://gnukanne.just-imho.net/debian-devel/smstools_3.0.2-3.dsc

And please upload them as soon as possible. Wanna have this release
cleared to continue with newer version in experimental.

Thanks in advance
Best Regards

Mark Purcell schrieb:
so how do we proceed with our upload? Is there any process in this case
 that happened here?

 Patrick,

 No problems.

We just need to configure a -3 build which encorporates what has been
delivered by the -2 upload. Which I think it does already.

 The question is of timing.

Do we wait until -2 is accepted and then propose the -3 upload.

Or do we just upload -3 and ask debian-release to unblock.

Bug#409634: iceweasel: left-clicking blank RHS of text input fields puts cursor at LHS

2007-02-04 Thread Josh Purinton
Package: iceweasel
Version: 2.0.0.1+dfsg-2
Severity: normal

In any text input field with blank space remaining after the data in the
field, left-clicking on the empty right-hand portion of the field puts
the cursor at the very left (first) position in the field. This bug does
not exist in Konqueror.

 $ echo input type=text value=0 test.html
 $ iceweasel -safe-mode test.html

Now:
1. Check all 5 Safe Mode options and click Continue in Safe Mode; a lone text
field with the value 0 appears.
2. Click somewhere in the empty right-hand half of the text field. One would
expect the cursor to go immediately after the 0, but instead it goes
   *before* the 0.
3. If you click the empty space a few pixels to the right of the 0,
the cursor goes there. But if you click any farther to the right than
that, the cursor goes instead to the beginning of the field.

Bug#409633: seahorse: Asks for ssh private key passphrase even when useless

Without seahorse as an agent, ssh doesn't ask for the passphrase in such

Bug#409401: tetex-frogg: wrong dependency: s/tetex-base/texlive-latex-base|tetex-bin/

2007-02-04 Thread Frank Küster
severity 409401 important

Frank Küster [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

tetex-frogg Depends: tetex-base. However, tetex-base does not provide
any functionality to use the files included in tetex-frogg. Instead, it
needs the latex or bibtex commands.

This seems to be a general problem with a couple of packages. It
doesn't seem to be a problem in practice - otherwise it would have been
detected earlier. And in fact it could be argued that tetex-frogg kind
of enhances tetex-base (which means it wouldn't need any dependence at
all), and can be used by tetex-bin or texlive-latex-base.

Anyway, I don't think this sort of bugs (in this and other packages)
would warrant exclusion from etch, therefore I lower the severity.
Note, however, that tetex-base is going to vanish in lenny - then this
bug will be RC again. And it doesn't hurt to fix it even in etch.

Bug#409642: sbuild: update-sourcedeps couldn't find dependency files

2007-02-04 Thread Kenshi Muto
Package: sbuild
Severity: normal
Version: 0.52

source-dependencies information provided by buildd.debian.org seem
stopped a service since Since 2005.

update-sourcedeps command in sbuild trys to download:
wget http://buildd.debian.org/andrea/$ARCH/source-dependencies-stable.gz
wget http://buildd.debian.org/andrea/$ARCH/source-dependencies-testing.gz
wget http://buildd.debian.org/andrea/$ARCH/source-dependencies-unstable.gz

But these files don't exist.
I couldn't find any alternative locations.

Thanks,

2007-02-04 Thread Hendrik Naumann
Package: kdebluetooth

Justification: renders package unusable

*** Please type your report below this line ***

If I do an apt-get install kdebluetooth and restart kde the
kbluetoothd is not starting until sdpd is running, wich is
part of bluez-utils.

I think this may also be the reason for #381604

Bug#177180: this bug: #177180/grep: option to stay on the filesystem

2007-02-04 Thread Justin Pryzby
The accepted way of doing this is with
  find . -xdev -print0 |xargs -0 grep foo

Indeed, even grep -r is considered to be bloat, since find supports
many options which don't each need to be implemented in grep, too.

Bug#409630: icon and desktop entry patch for abook

2007-02-04 Thread simon . addareyss
Package: abook
Version: 0.6.0~pre2-1
Severity: wishlist

A little patch that adds an icon for abook (taken from xfmail), and a
desktop entry. There is also a little patch to make things compile with
gcc-2.95, I guess you don't need that anymore, but it doesn't hurt
anyway.

Bug#409547: [Vladimir Volovich] tex-common: TEXMFCNF setting in 85Misc.cnf

2007-02-04 Thread Frank Küster
Frank Küster [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

 Dear Vladimir,

please use the list address for communication with the TeX maintainers,
 thanks.

Now this is a bug report, please keep the bugnumber address in Cc - you
can drop any other addresses.

 - On the other hand, on a TeX Live based system:

 access(/usr/share/texmf/web2c/texmf.cnf, R_OK) = 0
 stat64(/usr/share/texmf/web2c/texmf.cnf, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644,
 st_size=25611, ...}) = 0
 access(/usr/share/texmf-texlive/web2c/texmf.cnf, R_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such
 file or directory)
 open(/usr/share/texmf/web2c/texmf.cnf, O_RDONLY) = 3

So there's no actual duplication in TeX Live. The informational
setting in texmf.cnf in tex-common should probably be corrected to
   match the texlive case

is it because of a compile-time default for TEXMFCNF?

Just to remember this, I send this to the bug report. Finally, it needs
to be fixed in tex-common, but not before the settings in texlive are
settled.

Regards, Frank

Bug#405973: Same problem here

2007-02-04 Thread Matteo Beniamino
I have the same problem here. Some infos: the bugs only occours when
there is a collection to open at startup, i.e. if the file parameter
in $HOME/.config/gcstar/GCstar.conf is set. Cleaning by hand the
parameter allows me to run gcstar and open the collection using the File
menu: I have to do this every time I restart gcstar. I don't know if
this make difference, but my collections have been imported from gcfilm
files. You can try to reproduce the bug using the attached .gcs file and
setting the File parameter accordingly.

One last thing: I guess Marco is Italian like me, anyway forcing locale
to C doesn't seem to solve the bug, so it might be just a coincidence.

Bye.

Bug#409645: fuse-utils: Installation unusable for many reasons

2007-02-04 Thread David Baron
Package: fuse-utils
Version: 2.6.2-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Fuse got installed, probably as a dependency from something else. All of a
sudden, I get on my bootup a failure started fuse module. I never elected to
start this. Maybe initscripts activated it. However:

The /etc/init.d/fuse-utils script has:
1. Incorrect script name. fuse instead of fuse-utils. Would only effect
the usage error message so not very important.
2. Has a mount point /sys/fs/fuse/connections. No such directories exist on
/sys/fs and they cannot be manually created.
3. Reportbug tries a /usr/bin/fusermount on checking package integrity.
Fails due to permissions (duplicate bug but listed as fixed!)

Bug#409644: libfuse2: please include a versioned shlibs file

2007-02-04 Thread Sebastian Harl
Package: libfuse2
Severity: serious
Justification: renders related (by dependency) packages unusable

When running a program linked against libfuse2 2.6 using version 2.5 of the
library it aborts with the following error message:

  /usr/lib/libfuse.so.2: version `FUSE_2.6' not found

This can be avoided by including a versioned shlibs file which in turn would
create correct package dependencies.

Cheers,
Sebastian
