Bug#448418: radioclkd segfaults on amd64

Commenting out the if block surrounding the call to CalculatePPSAverage on line 709 and always using the else block instead prevents the segfault. The preceding comment if possible use an averaged offset suggests this is OK (but perhaps less accurate or less efficient? I'm making changes now without understanding the implications...). I guess the problem is in the libc qsort call, I pass in an array of timediff which is int's but tell qsort that it is of size long. Not a problem on an ia32 machine as the two are the same size. Bug#448447: zekr-quran-translations-en: [debconf_rewrite] Debconf templates and debian/control review
BTW, while preparing the call for translation updates for zekr-quran-translations-en, I noticed that you (Mohammad D.) ar ementioned in the Persian translation of debconf templates. I therefore assume that you're actually a native speaker of Persian. As in charge of the i18n/l10n of the Debian Installer, I'm still trying to revive the Persian translation work for it, initiated in the past with Arash Bijanzadeh. So, in case someone you know...or you...would be interested contributing to this work (which involves quite a lot of EN-FA transation), please let me know. This is definitely an area where I would be delighted to see some improvement as we had to temporarily deactivate Persian in Debian Installer because of the lack of maintenance of the translation. signature.asc Description: Digital signature

There is leftover code for it, but that doesn't mean it's supported. Bug#426260: color is disturbed when tvtime changes default color settings
On Tue, 29 May 2007, A. Górniak said: ...(tvtime has no separate hue/colour controls)... For the record, 'tvtime' has 'hue/saturation' which is the same thing. On the bug itself, I'm getting the same dropped colors, _sometimes_, but only after recently upgrading to an AMD mobo -- on my previous Intel mobo it never happened. Possibly relevant 'lspci' data: 00:00.0 Host bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8375 [KM266/KL266] Host Bridge 00:01.0 PCI bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8633 [Apollo Pro266 AGP] 00:08.0 Multimedia video controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt848 Video Capture (rev 01) 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV15DDR [GeForce2 Ti] (rev a4) The 'nvidia' card is the same as on my old system, (moved it over), it's probably not the immediate cause. What happens is that I'll close 'tvtime', and it worked fine; then do some other stuff, maybe run some video viewer, then on restarting 'tvtime' everything looks too green. Restarting X ('nv' driver) restores the 'tvtime' colors. On one occasion proper colors were restored without restarting X, but I'm not sure how -- if I find a reproducible method I'll post it. HTH...
Bug#448514: that last update made Chinese ugly
Right you are, the /etc/fonts/conf.d/61-traditional.conf fixed it. More effective than meta http-equiv=Content-Language content=zh-tw. Of course please do one day remind me to remove 61-traditional.conf when a real fix comes. OK, will be back to test more on Nov. 6 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Package: ftp.debian.org hi, please remove libmusicbrainz-queries-perl aswell as libmusicbrainz-client-perl from the archive. MusicBrainz have developed a new XML Based WebService API and the old RDF web service has been deprecated and should not be used for new development. Even tho the old RDF based Service is still working, MusicBrainz may stop providing access to their rdf based data after 2007, so it certainly does not make any sense to ship it in an upcoming stable release anyways. Bug#448597: rkhunter: fails to retrieve hashes on systems with prelink and little disk space
Package: rkhunter Version: 1.3.0-2 Severity: normal Hi, When running rkhunter on a system with prelink, the hash checks can fall foul of prelink's checks for sufficient diskspace. I'm not sure whether this should be considered a bug in rkhunter or in prelink... Anyway, the symptoms are that rkhunter takes ages to run, and fails to find any hashes for the binaries it's interested in. The reason is that the prelink wrapper script (which is specific to Debian) checks the free disk space and requests user confirmation if less than 5 KB is available; the user confirmation has a 20s timeout, so rkhunter sits around waiting for prelink for 20s every time it's invoked when disk space is insufficient. 5 KB might seem negligible by today's standards, but I use separate /, /usr etc. on all my systems and one of them recently dipped below 5 KB on /. I haven't checked whether prelink really needs all that space to prelink binaries in / in this situation; I'll give it a shot later today. Here's an extract from rkhunter.log illustrating the problem: [11:04:24] Warning: No hash value found for file '/usr/bin/lastlog' [11:04:44] Hash command output: Partition /dev/md/0 (/) has only 49890 KB free.::!! WARNING !!:It's recommended to have at least 5 KB of disk space.:Prelink would _really_ damage the ELF files on those partitions.::Aborting prelink. [11:05:04] Warning: No hash value found for file '/usr/bin/ldd' [11:05:24] Hash command output: Partition /dev/md/0 (/) has only 49890 KB free.::!! WARNING !!:It's recommended to have at least 5 KB of disk space.:Prelink would _really_ damage the ELF files on those partitions.::Aborting prelink. Obviously rkhunter can't do much about this particular failure mode in prelink (other than perhaps calling prelink.bin directly if the disk space issue is irrelevant for verifications), but it would be nice if it didn't attempt to run prelink however many times after the first failure. Bug#448606: wammu breaks on contact update in case number contains spaces
Package: wammu Version: 0.23-1 Severity: minor Hi, in case you decide to enter a number with spaces e.g. +49 171 2280134 wammu happily accepts this via cut'n'paste but later fails to write the number to the phone dropping all entered information. Actually this is a multifold bug - I would expect wammu to allow any input and normalize the number automatically or warn if impossible and thus should silently remove spaces or maybe tell the user about a broken format. It should not fail and drop all entered information. As a side note there is also a editing bug hidden. Can you check your iceweasel configuration to make sure you're using Sans Serif? The screenshot I sent is showing konqueror, but it's the same in iceweasel. In iceweasel the Sans-serif font is 'sans-serif'. I have to decrease the font size once (Ctrl+-) to see the effect. And then, can you see what: $ fc-match -v 'Sans Serif' returns? I've attached the output using both versions of fontconfig. If those look good, How do I tell? please try to reproduce this with something simpler, like 'xfd' (using the -fa option) or even the 'gwaterfall' program which you'll find in my git repository: git://keithp.com/git/gwaterfall. No success so far, i.e. gwaterfall seems to display all fonts just fine. Some further information that might be helpful: I'm using the en_US.UTF-8 locale. I've even attached a list of font related packages installed ont his system (dpkg -l | grep font). Bug#446324: lighttpd: stderr not closed
Michal Čihař wrote: I can reproduce it only in postinst (the code is actually already in phpmyadmin package, just the debconf option for lighttpd is not there as it would break). After some more testing it seems that some interaction between debconf and lighttpd causes this. You can reproduce it by following script: #!/bin/sh . /usr/share/debconf/confmodule invoke-rc.d lighttpd reload The fix for this seems to be to use invoke-rc.d lighttpd reload 3/dev/null however I don't know why this fixes it, at it looks to me more like a workaround than a fix to me :-). I think it's related to this code: # Only do this once. if [ -z $DEBCONF_REDIR ]; then # Redirect standard output to standard error. This prevents common # mistakes by making all the output of the postinst or whatever # script is using this library not be parsed as confmodule commands. # # To actually send something to standard output, send it to fd 3. exec 31 if [ $DEBCONF_USE_CDEBCONF ]; then exec 15 else exec 12 fi DEBCONF_REDIR=1 export DEBCONF_REDIR fi My guess is that this code is opening fd 3 (stdout is fd 1, stderr is fd 2) and not closing it. Then Lighttpd inherits fd 3 and doesn't close it either. I've no idea who is supposed to close it though. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#446825: Clarifications.
Hello: I have looked a little further into the issue. The problem is not as general as I thought, gs mostly work, and the kde printing system is not broken. The problem is just a presentation problem. Printing preview are not working with current sid ghostscript, but printing actually occurs. Bug#448612: idjc: stream status button stops working sometimes, making it unreliable.
Package: idjc Version: 0.6.9-1ubuntu1 Severity: normal Hi there! I'm in love with the program after some install fights, mainly with jack. It looks like a python version of muse, somehow, with a better user interface for sure. I'm asking for a kind change in the stream button though: Sometimes, after time of use, when you have people listening to the stream and everything working, the stream button stops working. I'm talking after one hour or two of use... And that makes me go always (even when it is already working) to the icecast monitor page to see what happens. Can that button's reliability be revised a bit, and also, from a user interface point of view, wouldn't be better if it blinked (slowly...) Thanks! Bug#448609: wammu: gammu should offer phone vendor/type and connection type settings instead of protocol names
Hi Dne Tue, 30 Oct 2007 12:25:19 +0100 Florian Lohoff [EMAIL PROTECTED] napsal(a): Wammu should really have a phone database and possibly detect the possible connection methods e.g. serial, irda, bluetooth on first startup and then let the user select the phone (or autodetect) and the connection method. Wammu should then select the correct protocol by itself. This is basically what guided configuration does, have you tried that? It should be probably a bit more advertised ... any idea? -- Michal Čihař | http://cihar.com | http://blog.cihar.com signature.asc Description: PGP signature

Bug#448600: Wammu overwrites clipboard on Create Contact or Edit Contact
Hi Dne Tue, 30 Oct 2007 11:58:24 +0100 Florian Lohoff [EMAIL PROTECTED] napsal(a): when double clicking on a contact and the Edit Contact dialog opens wammu overwrites the clipboard with the phonebook location number which is the first entry in the form which is selected. This also happens when using Create - Contact then the clipboard gets overwritten with a 0. This is really annoying as one edits a contact and trys to insert a number finds himself with a overwritten clipboard. This looks like wxGTK/wxPython issue to me as Wammu definitely does not touch clipboard itself. However I will look for workaround. -- Michal Čihař | http://cihar.com | http://blog.cihar.com signature.asc Description: PGP signature
Bug#448614: idjc: integration with easytag autocomplete tagging facilities, and also with the mpd scrobbler
Package: idjc Version: 0.6.9-1ubuntu1 Severity: wishlist As devoted to stream on our server just free music, I have to face on the day-to-day a lotof tag editing. I like the metatag function on the system, but for becoming a real tagging feature (maybe this is not desired), could use of some of the tricks the easytag autocomplete feature uses... on the same tagging field, it could be nice to have an implementation of the last.fm scrobbling... like the mpd has (mpdscribble, discontinued now but still working) or the xmms. thanks! -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers feisty APT policy: (500, 'feisty'), (500, 'dapper-security') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15-28-686 Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages idjc depends on: ii jackd 0.102.20-1 JACK Audio Connection Kit (server ii libc6 2.5-0ubuntu14 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libflac7 1.1.2-5ubuntu2 Free Lossless Audio Codec - runtim ii libjack0.100. 0.102.20-1 JACK Audio Connection Kit (librari ii libogg0 1.1.3-2ubuntu2 Ogg Bitstream Library ii libsamplerate 0.1.2-2audio rate conversion library ii libshout3 2.2.2-1build1 MP3/Ogg Vorbis broadcast streaming ii libsndfile1 1.0.16-1build1 Library for reading/writing audio ii libspeex1 1.1.12-3 The Speex Speech Codec ii libtheora00.0.0.alpha7.dfsg-2ubuntu1 The Theora Video Compression Codec ii libvorbis0a 1.1.2.dfsg-1.2 The Vorbis General Audio Compressi ii libvorbisenc2 1.1.2.dfsg-1.2 The Vorbis General Audio Compressi ii libvorbisfile 1.1.2.dfsg-1.2 The Vorbis General Audio Compressi ii libxine1 1.1.4-2ubuntu3 the xine video/media player librar ii python2.5.1~rc1-0ubuntu3 An interactive high-level object-o ii python-centra 0.5.12ubuntu4 register and build utility for Pyt ii python-eyed3 0.6.11-1ubuntu1Python module for id3-tags manipul ii python-gtk2 2.10.4-0ubuntu3Python bindings for the GTK+ widge ii zlib1g1:1.2.3-13ubuntu4 compression library - runtime idjc recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#448615: dh_installdocs : Please consider a separate handler for debian/copyright for embedded use
Package: debhelper Version: 5.0.59 Severity: wishlist File: /usr/bin/dh_installdocs This is just an idea at this stage, but Emdebian currently removes all /usr/share/doc/ contents in order to make suitably small packages for embedded use. It would be beneficial if debhelper could help us by separating the handling of debian/copyright from the other documentation so that the Emdebian distribution could remain legal (by distributing the copyright files) without being burdened by README, TODO and other package docs that are simply unnecessary on an embedded device. When storage space is such a problem, it would also be useful if the new handler would support compressing debian/copyright when a build option is specified - maybe ifneq ($(DEB_HOST_GNU_TYPE),$(DEB_BUILD_GNU_TYPE) or a custom DEB_BUILD_OPTION that Emdebian could use on top of nocheck, nodocs etc. (Seeking wider adoption of nodocs and some kind of consistent meaning to nodocs is another topic for discussion.) Emdebian could then recommend wrapping dh_installdocs in the above test with the new handler as an alternative or debhelper could do the same internally. Whether or not the package ChangeLog files and debian/changelog will be distributed has not been decided yet. Copyright files are typically small. Installing changelogs (even compressed) could end up with users being prevented from installing necessary applications, just to provide room for the changelog.gz files. All ideas welcome. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-2-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages debhelper depends on: ii binutils2.18.1~cvs20071027-1 The GNU assembler, linker and bina ii coreutils 5.97-5.4 The GNU core utilities ii dpkg-dev1.14.7 package building tools for Debian ii file4.21-3 Determines file type using magic ii html2text 1.3.2a-3 An advanced HTML to text converter ii perl5.8.8-11.1 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii po-debconf 1.0.9manage translated Debconf template debhelper recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
