Hmmm, I am using wdm and fvwm over 9 years and never had problems with
it. My ${HOME} is in NFS and accessed parallel on my Develstation using
Sarge, Etch, Lenny and Sid and ~/.xsession is read on all virtual
machines.
Could you run wdm using strace?
