Bug#509712: Announce of the upcoming NMU for the arcboot package
Dear maintainer of arcboot and Debian translators, Some days ago, I sent a notice to the maintainer of the arcboot Debian package, mentioning the status of at least one old po-debconf translation update in the BTS. I announced the intent to build and possibly upload a non-maintainer upload for this package in order to fix this long-time pending localization bug as well as all other pending translations. The package maintainer agreed for the NMU or did not respond in four days, so I will proceed with the NMU. The full planned schedule is available at the end of this mail. The package is currently translated to: cs da de es eu fr it ja nb nl pl pt pt_BR ru sv vi Among these, the following translations are incomplete: none If you did any of the, currently incomplete, translations you will get ANOTHER mail with the translation to update. Other translators also have the opportunity to create new translations for this package. Once completed, please send them as a bug report against the arcboot package so I can incorporate them in the build. The deadline for receiving updates and new translations is Sunday, December 27, 2009. If you are not in time you can always send your translation to the BTS. The POT file is attached to this mail. If the maintainer objects to this process I will immediately abort my NMU and send him/her all updates I receive. Otherwise the following will happen (or already has): Wednesday, December 16, 2009 : send the first intent to NMU notice to the package maintainer. Bug#542540: fmit: FTBFS on GNU/kFreeBSD due to missing include
Cyril Brulebois k...@debian.org (20/08/2009): Package: fmit Version: 0.97.7-2 Severity: important Tags: patch User: debian-...@lists.debian.org Usertags: kfreebsd No reply in months, I've uploaded an NMU which fixes this FTBFS. a single tweak is needed to get your package built on GNU/kFreeBSD, which you can find in the attached patch. It pretty much looks like all those other include-cleaning-related issues when porting to a newer gcc version, see build logs[1]. I could trigger this FTBFS on a Linux environment, so I guess there are some tiny architecture-related disparities. Anyway, since exit() is used, let's just add the include as initially suggested. Bug#508524: lenny - regression - ffmpeg lacks important codecs
Am 19.12.2009 01:53, schrieb drbob: I tried the method as described by hjsalchow but found that whilst it produced some deb files for me they too had the codecs stripped out. The debian rules script is crafted to remove the codecs even if you use get-orig-source. Yes, debian/rules has to do two things here: Strip the codecs out of the source tarball (in get-orig-source) and then strip the calling of these codecs out of the remaining code. I managed to recompile with the mpeg2 encoder enabled by editing debian/rules to stop it stripping out the codecs from the original source. I describe what I did in more detail here: http://gbdrbob.wordpress.com/2009/12/07/ffmpeg-mpeg2-debian-lenny/ Nice instructions, but: If you set DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS on a separate command line, you should export them to the environment. This is why I suggested to set them on the same line as the calls to fakeroot debian/rules resp. dpkg-buildpackage. Regarding the problem with the package version remaining the same, you can add a new revision number by running e.g. dch --nmu or similar. I'm sure there must be a more elegant way to do this but it worked for me. Hope this helps those who need mpeg2 and don't want to use packages from unstable on their system. No, there isn't! Rebuilding the Debian packages to achieve extra codecs is completely unsupported. We introduced the internalencoders options just for convenience reasons. Cheers, Fabian -- Dipl.-Phys. But I haven't done anything as intense as you in this regard. http://www.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/95399/functions/setsockopt.html The above URL documents how to use the SO_RCVTIMEO and SO_SNDTIMEO options of setsockopt(). http://74.125.153.132/search?q=cache:rEDEp2tvku8J:article.gmane.org/gmane.network.gnutls.general/227+GNUTLS_E_AGAIN+timeoutcd=9hl=enct=clnk The above URL states that the way to set timeouts on the GNUTLS handshake (and presumably other GNUTLS library calls) is to use setsockopt(). I expect that you can use setsockopt() with OpenSSL too. While it's pretty stupid to not have a simple timeout parameter for a function call such as the ones we are discussing, it would be totally stupid to have no way at all of specifying a timeout other than SIGALRM. -- russ...@coker.com.au http://etbe.coker.com.au/ My Main Blog http://doc.coker.com.au/ My Documents Blog -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. The rationale of the patch is that in fact that variable is not being used as a const char *, hence the declaration should be dropped. I still think that the variable is correctly used as a const char *: It's used once as the first argument to strchr(), which, according to POSIX, is a const char * and once as the only argument to string(), which, according to the [C++ reference], accepts a const char * as well. That's not the problem, there's two though, strchr returns a pointer inside the string argument (arguably strchr should have a return type of ‘const char *’, which would not have allowed this to happen in the first place), that argument might later on get modified if not NULL, by setting its contents to the NUL charater, or when it gets passed to setOptions which takes ‘char *’. I think ideally getProjection and setOptions would take a ‘const char *’, and duplicate the string locally if the need to modify it, as one might want to pass a literal string which would also fail, or might not want the caller to get stuff modified, but this is not a problem for the current code base. regrads, guillem -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#559143: SOLR 1.4 debian packaging
@solr-dev: Could sbd. from upstream help us out with a working tomcat.policy for solr? For now I just granted all permissions to solr. Hi Jan-Pascal (et al), I've uploaded the current state of my packaging effort of SOLR 1.4 to http://github.com/thkoch2001/pkg-debian-solr (This is a new repository and not compatible with the one found at the same place until today) I still have some things, where I'm stuck, listed in debian/TODO, for your convenience copied here: - Review web.xml. - enable junit tests on build? - Build javadocs? - Decide, where dist/apache-solr-dataimporthandler-1.4.0.jar should go: - /usr/share/solr/WEB-INF/lib/ - /usr/share/java Or should maybe all jars go to /usr/share/java and be symlinked? - Review debian/tomcat.policy - Delete obsolete topgit branches from 1.3 And I forgot one todo issue in the file: - test with Jetty About GIT and topgit: - upstream tarballs are available from the git repository with pristine-tar - the git setup is the default one proposed by git-buildpackage. So git- buildpackage should work on this repository without any configuration - patches are managed with topgit according to this workflow: http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/vcs-pkg-discuss/2009- December/000688.html Best regards, Thomas Koch, http://www.koch.ro -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. I try many different combination of volumes with no result. I suggest that you run alsamixer -V capture so that you only see the recording controls. You may need to use a switch, rather than a sliding control, to boost the recording volume. For example, there may be a switch to change the input from line-in to microphone mode. I'm going to close this bug because the original problem is fixed. Ben. -- Ben Hutchings Once a job is fouled up, anything done to improve it makes it worse. Thanks for the suggestion but as I say no new channel appear so the capture section is empty (by the exception of digital channel). The original problem was the lack of the channels and that is not fixed. The only difference is that I can now record with digital but I still need capture channel (or other one) to increase the volume. I record with digital on .26 and only by increasing capture volume I can hear well. If you believe that I must open a new thread to solve that issue I'll do that. But I think the problem is the same.
