Sure, but it will help focus peoples' attention on Epiphany, of which
some people still don't know it even exists. I also didn't mean to
compare Epiphany to those two browsers, just mention them. My suggestion
can be found in the attached patch.

What do you mean sinf/cosf is supposed to be twice faster ?

Bug#572966: flexml: should this package be removed?

2010-03-08 Thread Martin Quinson
close 572966
thanks

Hey there,

You must be kidding, right? This package works just fine and have no bug
beside a request for removing someone from uploaders. There's a bunch of
requests from lintian about the packaging format, but since the software
works just fine (and does so since 3 years), nobody should need to
rebuild it anytime soon, so I dont feel the fact that the rules do not
follow the lastest stadards as release critical.

Moreover, I'm not very active, but I'm not completely MIA: I read debian
mails, and react to important matter. Since I use flexml on a daily
basis, if something goes wrong with that soft, I'll handle it.

Finally, a popcon score of 100 is quite a huge amount given the fact
that this is a developer only tool, targeting only C programmer forced
to add some XML in their project, but not willing to add a depend on
some fancy library.

That is why I'm closing this bug report.
Thanks for you QA work anyway,
Mt.

libpam-ssh does the right thing here, and doesn't have a bug.
libpam-ssh only runs in common-session, not

common-session-noninteractive. cron needs fixing.

/etc/pam.d/chfn:@include common-session
/etc/pam.d/cvs:# @include common-session
/etc/pam.d/su:@include common-session
/etc/pam.d/cron:@include common-session

schroot and su probably qualify as interactive, and polkit-1 may as well.
cups, cvs, and cron definitely don't, and chsh and chfn shouldn't have sessions
at all. other might or might not qualify as interactive; ideally, nothing
should ever use it.

The Bug seems for me a little bit strange :-)
My NIC r8169 works perfect. But after 2 month or so i have a problem with my
NIC. If i reboot my PC, my NIC isn't dedected correctly.
I make reboots again but it doesn't work. But if i use Knoppix 6.1 ones. My
Debian Squeeze system (NIC) works perfect. But after reboot its still the same
problem!

Here is the dmesg output, if the NIC doesn't work:

Bug#573008: smbind: database error on postgresql

2010-03-08 Thread Giuseppe Sacco
Package: smbind
Version: 0.4.7-3
Severity: important

Hi, I just installed smbind and select postgresql as database backend.
Now, when I load url http://localhost/smbind/src/configtest.php, I get
this output:

[...]
Testing database INSERT into zones table...OK Testing database INSERT
into users table...OK Testing database INSERT into records table...DB
Error: null value violates not-null constraint

This is probably because the statement INSERT INTO records (host)
VALUES ('test567') is using a table with many required and unspecified
fields:
smbind= \d records;
Tabella public.records
   Colonna | Tipo|
Modificatori
-+---+--
id | integer | not null default
nextval('records_id_seq'::regclass)
 zone| integer | not null default 0
host| character varying | not null
type| character varying | not null
pri | integer | not null default 0
destination | character varying | not null
valid | character varying | not null default 'unknown'::character
varying
Indici:
records_id_key UNIQUE, btree (id)

So, in your statement, you should also specify type and destination
required and not null fields.

Bye,
Giuseppe

Bug#567617: Acknowledgement (lxpanel - mouse pointing problem)

2010-03-08 Thread klaus zerwes

 Hi Klaus,

Hi.

I just uploaded lxpanel 0.5.5 which content several minor bug fixes.
 Could you
please help to confirm if this problem still exist with the version?

Sorry for the late reply. I have not subscribed the list, so I only
check periodically the webpage for updates.

Yes, the problem still persists!

There seem to bee two problems / phenomenas.

1. The panel:
I a application window has the focus, only the second mouse click on a
launcher will start the application. The first mouse click will
sometimes switch the desktop (it seems to me that the desktop is the
first one I choose to switch to using the desktop pager).
If I perform first a mouse click on the desktop (which will take the
fokus from the application), the first click on the launcher will
perform as expected and will start the application.

Very annoying behavior!

2. The desktop pager in the panel:
The first request to switch the desktop using the pager performs as
expected. After this first one, further request to change the desktop by
performing a mouse click will be ignored or will switch back to the
desktop I have chosen by the first request.

I hope the description is not to confusing - sorry, I am no native speaker.

As this behavior was nerving me, I have switched to XFCE.

If you need more detailed informations, just let me know how I can
provide them.

Bug#568343: git-core: alias in example for not server.com/gitweb/ ie git.server.com is now wrong

2010-03-08 Thread Alban Browaeys

Le 07/03/2010 03:27, Jonathan Nieder a écrit :

since the change in gitweb to make http://localhost/gitweb/ work
out of the box the aliases for /usr/share/gitweb/ stuff are wrong.

Could you send a patch for git-core.README.Debian? If Gerrit’s
repository mentioned in /usr/share/doc/git-core/README.source is still
down, you can use git://repo.or.cz/debian-git.git as a mirror.

I suspect something as simple as

Alias / /usr/share/gitweb

might do the trick in README.Debian, but I have not tried it, so I
would be happy to see someone who needs this to work investigating.

I do not understand . You tell that :

Alias / /usr/share/gitweb

should do the trick. But the current situation (broken ) is :

Alias /gitweb.css /usr/share/gitweb/gitweb.css
Alias /git-favicon.png /usr/share/gitweb/git-favicon.png
Alias /git-logo.png /usr/share/gitweb/git-logo.png

So exactly the same as the broken situation.
For me alising /usr/share/gitweb to / is the same as aliasing
/usr/share/gitweb/gitweb.css

to /gitweb.css.
The fact is that the cgi items points to /gitweb/gitweb.css and smaefor
others.

So maybe you meant :
Alias /gitweb /usr/share/gitweb
?
I don't know if this would work and will only test if you ask me so as
this is not a lot
easier than the three line we had for the three resources in
/usr/share/gitweb and
there is an index.cgi in this directory that would become readily
available from the net while it

was not beforehand.

I will do a patch as soon as we agreed on the fix.

Best regards,
Alban

Bug#572991: This looks like a problem with reporting supported modes to the client

2010-03-08 Thread Michael Tokarev
Bjørn Mork wrote:

Looking at the list of available modes in the guest showed that there
was no 1440x900 anymore, which probably explains why Windows chose
another one close by. There were also a number of other expected modes
 missing.

 Think I got it.

The modes were once added to KVMs local copy of vgabios:
 http://git.kernel.org/?p=virt/kvm/qemu-kvm.git;a=commitdiff;h=ebfac597cf
but never made it upstream or into QEMU. So when you included a copy of
the vgabios source from QEMU in the Debian qemu-kvm package, you
 removed these modes.

I'm attaching a patch to be applied on top of
 debian/patches/vgabios-0.12.3.diff
which fixes this problem for me.

Thank you very much Bjørn for the excellent bugreport.
All bios code were dropped from qemu-kvm in 0.12 for some reason
(or without, I dunno), and you're right all the local modifications,
useful or not, were lost.

I too noticed that the list of video modes available is quite a bit
shorter than it used to be, but at that time I were dealing with
another bug and didn't pay enough attention to that fact, and it
were successfully forgotten. But without your findings it'd be
much more difficult to find and fix things.

I'm adding the thing to the Debian qemu-kvm git repository now, to
be fixed in the next release.

By the way, you can just use vgabios from kvm-88 - there were no
changes (except of missing bugfixes like you discovered) since that...

Thank you!

/mjt

Hi,
I would like to use smbind with lighttpd instead of apache2. In order to
make both working together, you should create a file
name /etc/lighttpd/conf-available/20-smbind.conf with the following two
lines:

alias.url += (/smbind = /usr/share/smbind/php )
index-file.names += (index.php)

This installation is using postgresql engine as shipped with Debian
lenny: 8.3.9. As far as I know, even newer versions do not support this
syntax.

LIMIT/OFFSET clause on postgresql manual is available at
http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.4/interactive/sql-select.html#SQL-LIMIT

I suspect that this is due to incompatibility of versions installed: in fact,

I'm not optimistic that the git developers will support development

You are right, as can be seen by the replies to bug #407722 [1].

So we should deal with this situation and link against libgit
statically. What do I miss?

Done on lebrun, this time with a build log (attached). This shows the same

OK, marking as found in 1.9.1.376-1.

Also, as discussed on IRC, I uploaded a porter upload built on sperger

Bug#573014: timeoutd crashes with segmentation fauilts error

2010-03-08 Thread Dmytro Havrylov
Package: timeoutd
Version: 1.5-10.1
Severity: important
Tags: patch

The main problem - the process dies with segmentation fauils trying to throw
the user away.
After this the user is able to log in and work without time limitations. After
checking the code the
following problems have been found (both in function getcpid() ):

1. The function does not close the files after checking for ssh process. This
leads to the too i
many open files error after a few user kicks.

2. The function does not brake execution if the process does not exist. It
writes the corresponding
error to the log, but on the next step tries to read from the unexisting file
(which leads to segfault)

The following patch is offered to fix the problem:

Hello,

 -rwx--s--x. 1 root utmp 4940 2009-08-29 13:03 /usr/lib/utempter/utempter

According to Debian policy, executables should be world-readable[1]:
Setuid and setgid executables should be mode 4755 or 2755 respectively,
and owned by the appropriate user or group. They should not be made
unreadable (modes like 4711 or 2711 or even 4111); doing so achieves
no extra security, because anyone can find the binary in the freely
available Debian package; it is merely inconvenient.

In my case, I wanted to run debsums (as non root), but it failed with:
 debsums: can't open libutempter0 file /usr/lib/utempter/utempter

Bug#546586: xorg: X server lockup in int10 when booting a secondary card

2010-03-08 Thread Mader, Alexander (N-MSR)

Hello,

now some details. As mentioned I did an upgrade and just restarted the
system. The configuration is as described in

 http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg/2008-October/039421.html

and worked with the packages on hold together with the respective latest
2.6.32-kernel (currently 2.6.32-3-686) from unstable w/o problems.

The restart with the upgraded packages gave me the GDM login screen. I
was able to logon successfully but everything was a bit slow. The reason
for this was that *everything* was *simultaneously* on *both* seats! In
other words a separate login was not possible any more. Finally both X
server froze at some point. I could not find anything at the end of the
Xorg*log files but will send them asap.

As a next step I left out the first, dummy X server but the effects were
just the same.

Starting just one X on just one seat with something like

8 -- 8
[server-Standard]
name=Standard server
command=/usr/bin/X0 -config xorg-X0.conf -layout X0 -audit 0
flexible=true
# Multiseat:
#command=/usr/bin/X0 -config xorg-X0.conf -layout X0 -audit 0 vt7
-noreset -sharevts -novtswitch

#flexible=false
8 -- 8

and reduced xorg.conf works fine for the NV seat, a bit fiddling in the
conf seems to be necessary for the ATI seat as it showed poor 2D
performance.

Still, any help is very much appreciated :-)

Best regards,

  Can you elaborate on this?

I mean both Dovecot and libpam-ssh have an exported function called
buffer_free(). libpam-ssh tries to call its own internal buffer_free(),
but it ends up calling Dovecot's incompatible buffer_free(), which of
course doesn't work and it crashes.

Either rename buffer_free() on libpam-ssh's side, or mark it in some way
internal to the shared library (I don't know how to do the latter, but I
 think it's possible).

As this bug has been reassigned without a version number the BTS
considers all versions to be affected by this, including the version in
stable. Given that Erich did report this against the version in unstable
I think the buffer_free() function in dovecot might have been added at a
later stage (otherwise I would have expected Erich to report it earlier
already?).

Looking at the 1.0.15 source it seems to be in there too, though. Not
sure if the issue also happens in stable, can someone test this?

 Thanks,
Rhonda

Using rhythmbox 0.12.6-3 and libgpod 0.7.2-2+b1 from debian testing on amd64
platform to manage an ipod.
After uploading songs from rhythmbox to the ipod, the files are correctly
uploaded (e.g. i can see and open them with nautilus), but the ipod software

I found description of the bug (and a possible solution) in the ubuntu's

have the same model of ipod reported in launchpad.

For now, I solved the problem by installing an updated version of libgpod taken

dependencies (= https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/lucid/amd64/libgpod4). After

Bug#328692: Debian Bug #328692 and Unicode::Normalize

2010-03-08 Thread Colin Watson
On Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 12:57:26AM +1100, Craig Small wrote:
I'm the maintainer of dh-make and need some help with bug 328692. The
problem is that dh_make gets the name of the maintainer and puts it into
various template files. Not a problem for most names and most files.
However some names, such as ones with umlats etc will choke on manual
 pages.

I have heard that Unicode::Normalize may do what I want, but as I don't
really understand what this does, or really much about UTF-8 anyhow I'm
 not sure.

I saw your request for help on Planet Debian.

When this bug was originally filed, groff required its input to be in
the ISO-8859-1 character set, which typically meant doing special
encoding of anything outside that. Since last year, though, we've had
groff 1.20, which massively improves Unicode input support so that you
can typically just type UTF-8 directly into manual pages. As a result,
the edict in policy saying that all characters in a manual page must be
representable in the legacy encoding for that language was lifted in
debian-policy 3.8.3.0.

At this point I think that any mangling in dh-make would do more harm
than good. If you just make sure that the author's name is encoded
using UTF-8 (which you should be doing already, since policy requires it
for changelog and control files, although I haven't checked dh-make's
code), you shouldn't need to do any other normalisation beyond that.
Certainly, the original bug submitter's name works fine in manual pages
now.

If you get any bugs in future about non-ASCII author names being handled
incorrectly in manual pages, feel free to reassign them over to man-db
and I'll investigate them from there.

Cheers,

I waited till today to upgrade my xserver-xorg-video-radeon package to the
version in unstable (6.12.5), mainly because I was waiting for mesa (7.7) to
 migrate to testing.

Unfortunately I have to report it does not correct my problems. I have KMS in
this laptop which works well, but DRI is disabled due to some kind of conflict
with the kernel version which really makes no sense! look for yourself:

(EE) RADEON(0): [dri] RADEONDRIGetVersion failed because of a version
 mismatch.
[dri] radeon kernel module version is 2.0.0 but version 1.8.0 or newer is
 needed.
 [dri] Disabling DRI.

6.12 doesn't support KMS. You have to either disable KMS
(radeon.modeset=0 kernel parameter) or install 6.13 (aka 6.12.99)

Run ccsm and make sure some plugins are enabled: you want at least
move, resize, decoration, ...

Or purge your gconf database from any compiz config and restart compiz
0.8.4 from unstable to get proper defaults.

 2) same as above, using a freshly created user, and the usual Gnome
 session, same result

Make sure you have all compiz packages from unstable (0.8.4) before
doing that. Defaults are wrong in earlier versions. You should remove
all files in the home of this new user before testing again.

 3) I logged in, using GDM, choosing failsafe terminal session; in the
terminal, I ran 'compiz' and then it works fine; then I started the
gnome-session, and it all was working fine.

Including decoration ?

But I found no way to tell
gnome to always use compiz: when I loogged out and logged back in,
 metacity was used.

/usr/share/doc/gnome-session/README.Debian may help

Or create a .xsession file and run gnome-session and compiz manually
(and use your custom session in GDM instead of gnome default session or
whatever not customized).

Bug#572966: flexml: should this package be removed?

2010-03-08 Thread Jan Hauke Rahm
Hi again,

On Mon, Mar 08, 2010 at 09:37:55AM +0100, Martin Quinson wrote:
 You must be kidding, right?

No, I'm not. Although I acknowledge what you're saying and of course
accept your decision not to remove the package. Note that for this exact
reason I didn't send a request to remove it to ftp-masters but a
proposal to you. I understand my proposal wasn't that welcome :)

Well, I disagree here. Of course this is not release critical but if you
took the time to actually update the package, you'd see that it makes a
few changes. Yes, the code compiles apparently the same way, but two
changes are simply managed in the resulting binary:
* actually put the examples in there (you just have an empty dir)
* doc-base is nowadays organized by triggers which makes the generated
  maintainer scripts useless

I attached what I would change if this were a QA package. After all it's
your call and I'm not judging what you do, but from a QA perspective I'd
strongly go for a few changes (and if we're at it, do all of them).

Moreover, I'm not very active, but I'm not completely MIA: I read debian
mails, and react to important matter. Since I use flexml on a daily
basis, if something goes wrong with that soft, I'll handle it.

Noted. Thanks for clearing that up.

Finally, a popcon score of 100 is quite a huge amount given the fact
that this is a developer only tool, targeting only C programmer forced
to add some XML in their project, but not willing to add a depend on
 some fancy library.

Sorry, I didn't notice this earlier. Popcon is often misleading but it's
impossible to by-hand check every single package that exact. :(

That is why I'm closing this bug report.

Right.

Thanks for you QA work anyway,
 Mt.

You're welcome!

Bug#570466: not fixed after all

 Hello,

the stability of my laptop was apparently due to a missing firmware file
(R600_rlc.bin), which prevented DRI2 to work. Now that I have that file
back (I also upgraded to latest 2.6.33 kernel from experimental), I have
 problems again with KMS/DRI2.

However the problem evolved, as my laptop does not completely crash
anymore. Only the screen randomly turns blank and doesn't come back.

For example, I can still switch to a VT. The screen somehow flickers but
remains blank, but I can blindly login and issue commands or reboot. I
suspect that my X session is still useable, but of course without
knowing where my pointer is, it's quite complicated to prove :-)

I logged in through ssh, and X is no longer using 100% CPU. I have no
error in syslog or the Xorg log, so it seems that the beast is blind but
 didn't notice anything unusual.

Tell me if I can help further.

Please post your Xorg.0.log and dmesg output from when the problem
occurs.

Bug#378611: [Pkg-sysvinit-devel] Bug#573016: /etc/init.d/rc - it is not a conffile, but it should be

2010-03-08 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen
[Alexander Wirt]:
I don't have any idea how to solve this, the bugreport is right that
everything in /etc/ should be a conffile - but on the other side
/etc/init.d/rc is a little bit special.

Well, I do not buy the argument that everything in /etc/ should be a
conffile, and /etc/init.d/rc should defnitely not be a conffile. See
#132542 for a early BTS report about the same issue.

What that is said, my long term plan is to move it to /lib/init/rc,
but I have never seen it as important enough to give it priority.
(And I still do not see it as important enought to give it priority
over all the other things to fix with the boot system and the rest of
the tasks I have on my priority list. :)

Happy hacking,

Bug#573020: exec don't work

Package: puppet
Version: 0.25.4-2
Severity: important

whenever a class file including exec is executed at the client, the
puppet client freezes.

I guess it might be a problem with ruby and not with puppet, but I'm not
sure. This problem didn't exist with ruby version 1.8.7.174-2 and puppet
version 0.24.8-2

After a Squeeze update, with ruby version 1.8.7.249-1 and puppet version
0.25.4-2 all the rules including exec are failing at the puppet client.
Puppetmaster doesn't seem to fail.

Bug#573021: some exit hook scripts are not run

2010-03-08 Thread Harald Dunkel
Package: dhcp3-client

I have a source script sethostname in /etc/dhcp3/dhclient-exit-hooks.d:

if [ -n $new_host_name ]; then
hostname $new_host_name

true

Problem: It is never run. If I rename it to asethostname (making it the
first on the list), then it is run as expected.

IMHO dhclient-script should run the hooks independent of each other.

BTW, save_exit_status is set in run_hook(), but never used.

Bug#572359: adacontrol: Internal error when invoking AdaControl

2010-03-08 Thread Ludovic Brenta

I have to check but I suspect that the bug is in ASIS;
it tries to call gcc instead of gcc-4.4.

Workaround #1: install package gcc (= 4.4)
Workaround #2: ln -s /usr/bin/gcc-4.4 /usr/bin/gcc
Workaround #3:
 export PATH=$HOME/bin:$PATH
 mkdir $HOME/bin
 ln -s /usr/bin/gcc-4.4 $HOME/bin/gcc

Please tell me if that solves the symptoms; that would
confirm my hunch and I'll patch ASIS for a proper fix.

Thanks for reporting this bug.

2010-03-08 Thread Norbert Preining
On Mo, 08 Mär 2010, Danai SAE-HAN (韓達耐) wrote:
I am not entirely convinced that this patch needs to be added to the
TeXlive Debian package; I would rather put it in the pTeX JIS font
package, since that package provides the rml and gbm fonts.

But that package would need to change a file of ours, that seems like
a bit a pain. Alternatives? I am not sure ...

I would add the following lines in ptex-jisfonts/rules:

 dh_install cid-x.map /usr/share/texmf/fonts/map/dvips/arphic/
 dh_installtex --flavor=map:config_for_all_maps map=Map,cid-x.map

The problem now is that dh_installtex also creates faulty lines in
pdftex.map. If we can fix either cid-x.map or dh_installtex to have

dh_installtex??? Does not crete any faulty lines, it is updmap, right?

I am somehow lost ATM.

I thought this issues is solved with addint the two maps to the
config file.

Did it create a different/new problem, Danai?

I was running some tests here and didn't find any problems, but then
I was using xpdf and not evince.

Indeed, this now works, although I am still running sbuild 0.59.0-1.
The problem was of course that I somehow tried seen instead of

Bug#571212: Bug #571212,munin generates graphs correctly but does not generate links

2010-03-08 Thread Arthur Lutz
Hi,

from your commands I get a perfectly normal log, no errors. I get the usual
pair of processing creating
page. Then at the end it creates the comparaison pages, the service pages, the
group pages etc. It's just
that in those pages there are no links to the other pages.

Sorry, for security reasons I can't really attach the log file (and obscuring
it would take a while).

I was trying to compare logs and realized that not only I'm changing
architectures, but I'm migrating from
1.2.6 (lenny) to 1.4.3 (squeeze) - any special procedure for this ?

Thanks for this debugging. Any other leads ?

 Hi Arthur,

I haven't seen this behavior before, but I can offer some places to look:

/var/log/munin/munin-html.log by default logs very little. Try running it with
 debug on. For example:

 ---
 su - munin -s /bin/bash
 /usr/share/munin/munin-html --debug
 ---

I'm attaching a standard output of munin-html.log from my system with debug
on, so you'll have a point of reference.

Please let me know if you solve the problem, or if you can find a way to
 reproduce it.

 Hope this helps,

The given patch on my bug report isn't very useful, only a

As this bug has been reassigned without a version number the BTS
considers all versions to be affected by this, including the version in
stable. Given that Erich did report this against the version in unstable
I think the buffer_free() function in dovecot might have been added at a
later stage (otherwise I would have expected Erich to report it earlier
 already?).

buffer_free() has been there ever since the first version of Dovecot, but
you're right, in v1.0 it's only a macro:

void _buffer_free(buffer_t **buf);
#define buffer_free(buf) _buffer_free((buf))

In v1.1+ it became a function.

the patch is part of GCC-4.5; if it should be applied to 4.4, it needs a

At least the problem is solved with gcc-snapshot, I haven't tried with
gcc 4.5 yet. The backport is not trivial though.

Please remove trn4 binaries from unstable on mips and mipsel. The
non-free buildds for those architectures aren't keeping up, and no
porter box is available at the moment so I can't build them myself.

Thanks,

I somewhat doubt that the network drivers load at the point the

However, I tried to recycle the 2.6.33-rc6 config that works for me
and it works with the linux-source-2.6.33 as well.

hmm what is the latest working offlicial debian linux image,
that works for you? Does the linux-image-2.6.32-3-686 boot on that box
(available in sid)?

I'm not sure, I was removing kernels recently due to lack of disk space.

I'm sure I patched 2.6.32 to make X work but I probably had to boot it
first to find out it is broken.

Yes, with the current code and bounded values, it is twice faster. This
is not the case anymore with the assembly code, as the same FPU
instruction (fcos/fsin/fsincos) is used for the three versions (float,
double, long double).

buffer_free() has been there ever since the first version of Dovecot,
 but you're right, in v1.0 it's only a macro:

 void _buffer_free(buffer_t **buf);
 #define buffer_free(buf) _buffer_free((buf))

In v1.1+ it became a function.

So actually the bug is rather in dovecot? Anyway, this means that the
bug doesn't affect stable and I'm tagging it as such.

Bug#571604: patch

2010-03-08 Thread David Wlazlo
I've never used dpatch before, but here goes.

I applied the patch with:

sudo dpatch-edit-patch dual_devices.dpatch debian/patches/dual_devices.dpatch

from the source root, then built the package with:

sudo dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot

then installed the package.

In any case it didn't work. I mean I'm sure it did what it had to do
RE: EV_SYN etc.

Pretty exasperating! maybe the problem is with something which
mouseemu needs to run?

Other than that, I'm about to start my study year in earnest and am
prepared to re-install squeeze if you reckon it'd be best.

Cheers,

David

The modes were once added to KVMs local copy of vgabios:
 http://git.kernel.org/?p=virt/kvm/qemu-kvm.git;a=commitdiff;h=ebfac597cf
but never made it upstream or into QEMU.

I have to correct myself here. The patch has made it upstream
http://cvs.savannah.gnu.org/viewvc/vgabios/vbetables-gen.c?root=vgabiosr1=1.4r2=1.5
and is part of the latest release.

I'm afraid my primitive approach is not the proper way to fix it.
qemu-kvm should depend on vgabios and just install symlinks as qemu
does:

 bj...@nemi:~$ ls -la /usr/share/qemu/vgabios*
 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 2010-01-10 20:31 /usr/share/qemu/vgabios.bin -
../vgabios/vgabios.bin
 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 29 2010-01-10 20:31 /usr/share/qemu/vgabios-cirrus.bin
- ../vgabios/vgabios.cirrus.bin

Which is bug #489442. Fixing that one will close both bugs.

BTW, I think I'm going to propose some variant of my debugging patch to
qemu upstream. The Could not open SDL display is rather useless as a
fatal error message, given how easy it is to trigger this error with a
simple guest (mis)onfiguration.

space is sending you this information. The program runs weekly to
ensure your inbox does not grow too large, thus preventing you from
receiving or sending new e-mail. As this message is being sent, you
have 18 megabytes (MB) or more stored in your inbox. To help us reset
your space in our database, please enter your current user name
(_) password (___)

You will receive a periodic alert if your inbox size is between 18 and
20 MB. If your inbox size is 20 MB, a program on your Webmail will
move your oldest e-mails to a folder in your home directory to ensure
you can continue receiving incoming e-mail. You will be notified if
this has taken place.

If your inbox grows to 25 MB, you will be unable to receive new e-mail
and it will be returned to sender. All this is programmed to ensure
your e-mail continues to function well.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Bug#573028: vym: package category Education

2010-03-08 Thread Adrian von Bidder
Package: vym
Version: 1.12.2-2
Severity: wishlist

Heyho!

After having installed vym, I had problems finding it in the (K-)menu.
Personally, I find the placement in Education software unintuitive, I'd
rate mind maps more like office software since it's a tool I use for work.

Bug#570385: Leaves files in /var/tmp/

2010-03-08 Thread Torquil Macdonald Sørensen
Package: reportbug
Version: 4.10.2
Severity: normal

Hi!

As mentioned, those files in /var/tmp are completely empty, and from the
example listing you can see that their size is zero.

I'm 99% sure they are created by reportbug, since this is the program I use
for reporting. I deleted all the previous files, but now I can see that I have
a set of *.bug and *.bug~ files corresponding to the apps I have bugreported on
since that time:

ls -s1 /var/tmp
total 0
0 cdparanoia.bug
0 gnomad2.bug
0 iceweasel.bug
0 inkscape.bug
0 inkscape.bug~
0 mscore.bug
0 muse.bug
0 muse.bug~
0 vlc.bug
0 vlc.bug~
0 vorbis-tools.bug

Sorry about deleting the config, it seemed to me that it contained nothing
interesting. I may have been wrong, so here is everything apart from my
personal info.

Btw, will the smtp password be autoincluded in bugreports if it is specified in
the
user config file (smtppasswd option)? If so, maybe it should be automatically
deleted by reportbug when filing a report on itself? Or maybe just a warning
in the description of the smtppasswd in the man page?

Best regards
Torquil Sørensen

Hello,

As you guess, EB Library 4.4.2 sets a wrong shared library version.
15:0:2 is specified in configure.ac, but the correct version is
15:0:0. Thank you for the bug report.

I'll release EB Library 4.4.3 to fix the bug.
(Its shared library version should be 16:0:0.)

I released EB Library 4.4.3.

Bug#573034: aspell-fr: Synchronise packageing with aspell-en to avoid errors

2010-03-08 Thread Frank Lin PIAT
Package: aspell-fr
Version: 0.50-3-7
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Please, find attached one big patch, to swith to a packaging which is
consistent to aspell-en.

Initially, my issue was that debsums failed on some auto-generated
files, But I noticed there were many small errors reported by Lintian...
So I decided to switch to the same packaging scheme as aspell-en, for
easier maintennace in the future.

Thr changelog goes like this:
   [Frank Lin PIAT]
   * Use packaging rules from aspell-en, to fix multiple issues and
 Lintian errors:
- md5sums list files modiified during installation
- W command-with-path-in-maintainer-script
- W ancient-standards-version
- W debhelper-but-no-misc-depends
- W debian-rules-ignores-make-clean-error
- W debian-rules-sets-DH_COMPAT
- W package-uses-deprecated-debhelper-compat-version
   * Bump standards to 3.8.4
   * Fix compyright file issues:
- W copyright-without-copyright-notice
- W debian-copyright-file-uses-obsolete-national-encoding
   * Fix dictionnary error by removing double-dash (to avoir error during
 installation).
   * Use quilt for patches

If the One big patch model is an issue for you, I could split the patch.

Regards,

Franklin
