Hi, after some time searching for a script usable to handle xen in grub2, I have wrote some code (based on patches from debian bug #505517 [1] and /etc/grub.d/10_linux) that can be used without modify grub2. I will keep this setting now for a while and see if it is indeed stable. So I guess that bug #385366 might be fixed. Bug #386989 needs some more testing with 3D apps. Bad news. I just ran google earth and shortly after, while doing some aggressive window-swapping, it crashed with the usual symptoms. Note that while switching, metacity draws white borders around windows using probably the same technique as OSD. Without PageFlip, this seems to be stable. This is without any packages from experimental. I will try that some other time. Is this issue still reproducible with mesa 7.7 or 7.8? Dear Sander, I have built the python-twisted-calendarserver and calendarserver packages. You can download the source and compile from http://repos.synovel.com/packages/debian/twisted-calendarserver_8.2.0.svn27622-1~synovel2+scs1/ http://repos.synovel.com/packages/debian/calendarserver_2.4.dfsg-1~synovel1+scs1/ Let me know if you face any issues. I would be happy to look into it. Also I am working on building a deb for Calendarserver 3.0. Guido, were there any issues in pushing the sources I have compiled to sid? If so, kindly let me know. I am not an official Debian maintainer and so not completely aware of the procedure of pushing packages to Sid. Nevertheless, I shall be glad to help in fixing the bugs which prevent calendarserver 2.4 from getting into Sid. Also I have been using calendarserver 2.4 (backported to debian lenny) in a production environment for quite sometime and it seems to be working fine. Regards, Rahul. But we have one major problem: when we edit /etc/otrs/Kernel/Config.pm and save the file OTRS breaks. Even if we don't change the file content - just open it and save it. I've to restart apache to get OTRS up again. If a someone opens a ticket in otrs and was filling out the field on the webpage, all his work would be wiped by just editing this file. What happens if you reproduce this issue and after that RESTART your apache webserver? Hm, I'm not sure if I understand your question. _Every_ time I edit Config.pm with Apache2::Reload enabled, I have to restart apache otherwise I get the error message. The immediate issue as I see it is that contents of the file would have to be different - if heimdal-dev is not installed, then the include directory is /usr/include/heimdal not /usr/heimdal and the lib directory is /usr/lib/heimdal instead of /usr/lib. No, I haven't had the time to work on this yet. It would indeed require patching krb5-config (perhaps this can be upstreamed?) to use different directories, but that shouldn't be too problematic I think. If the very last file that iscan's hook script checks for in DESTDIR doesn't exist, the `test -e` call fails and the script ends with a failed status even though nothing really went wrong. Bug#530427: libguestfs Debian, an idea
On Thu, Jun 24, 2010 at 11:45:32AM +0800, Paul Wise wrote: How about the libguestfs package depends on each of the packages used inside the vm/appliance, then builds the vm on first install and updates the vm via file triggers whenever the packages outside the vm change? This means it doesn't need to access the network at build time or at install time and also gives free updates of the vm. This is kinda similar to how the initramfs is built on Debian. Could do this, but building the appliance from debs is quite slow (3-10 minutes), and really once you've built it you should test it (1-2 hours). When we build the Fedora package, we do all this work once on the builders, and can then be fairly certain that what we're about to ship to end users will actually work. What's the problem with running debirf on the Debian builders anyway? It shouldn't need any special permissions or network access. We could introduce a conflict against a to new zlib1g or we could loosen the dep in the source code of luatex itself (a similar thing was done before). The dep declared by the zlib1g package works only if its reverse dependencies don't second guess it like luatex does. What is the reason for having this check in the first place? Bug#587520: xz memory usage (Was: Bug#587520 closed)
I noticed you set the compression options for xz to -9. I'm not sure this is a good idea, with -9 xz will use 674MB of memory - even for files that are smaller than that (a 100MB file used 674MB, and a 3.3MB file used 139MB, but it probably varies depending on content). I think you should not set any number, and let xz decide on the default (which is currently -6, which has a max of 94MB). Is it realistic to take another option (1-9) to pass to the compressor if people want to change it? Bug#587736: frei0r-plugins: Missing dependency on libcv-dev
On Thu, Jul 01, 2010 at 11:44 AM, Olivier Aubert wrote: Hi! Some frei0r filters, based on opencv, require classifier data files which are not present in libcv, but in libcv-dev. For instance, trying to launch a pipeline involving frei0r-filter-water without installing libcv-dev will abort with: ERROR: Could not load classifier cascade /usr/share/opencv/haarcascades/haarcascade_frontalface_alt2.xml Solution: add libcv-dev as a Depends:, or at least as a Recommends: If a file is needed for normal usage of a library and not for develpment purposes then it should not be in the -dev package. http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-sharedlibs.html#s-sharedlibs-dev Thank you for reporting this. Bug#565751: wmnut: no withdrawn mode
On Mon, Jun 28, 2010 at 09:16:52PM +0200, Arnaud Quette wrote: I'm mostly done with one for awn using the existing battery applet ;-) which dock are you using btw? It's openbox's builtin dock, mostly wmaker compatible I think. well, afaik, there is no builtin dock in openbox! No, really there is a default dock in plain openbox. Just launch any wmaker applet and you'll see them appear docked together. you're probably running tint2 or awn. can you please describe your installation, ie if you used a Debian derivative or some kind of script. Just plain debian/sid. ultimately, the following files might help: /etc/xdg/openbox/autostart.sh ~/.config/openbox/autostart.sh finally, what do you mean by mostly wmaker compatible? are you running old school wm apps and which ones? I just meant that wm* applets that work in openbox support a withdrawn mode. -- http://www.cruisefish.net -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
