Bug#713943: Same problem with linux-image-3.12-1-powerpc64

2014-02-22 Thread Erik de Castro Lopo
Hi,

I run debian testing on a dual G5 powermac.

Just upgraded from linux-image-3.4-trunk-powerpc64 to
linux-image-3.12-1-powerpc64 and found the same issue. The windfarm
modules are loading but the about 30 seconds to a couple of minutes
after booting to 3.12-1-powerpc64 the fans speed up to full speed.

lsmod says the windfarm modules are being loaded, and its the same
modules being loaded under the 3.4 kernel.

I have however found a difference. On 3.12 I get:

 dmesg | grep windfarm
[4.358299] windfarm: initializing for dual-core desktop G5

whereas on 3.4 I get:

 dmesg | grep windfarm
[4.791589] windfarm: initializing for dual-core desktop G5
[9.077416] windfarm: CPUs control loops started.
[ 12.440957] windfarm: Backside control loop started.
[ 12.491701] windfarm: Slots control loop started.
[ 12.592933] windfarm: Drive bay control loop started.

Definitely something wonky there.

Bug#713943: Lack of i2c_powermac module may be the cause

2014-02-22 Thread Erik de Castro Lopo
Hi,

A previosu message in this big suggested that the i2c_powermac module
may be involved.

I can confirm that this module is missing completely for the 3.12 kernel
(there is no module of that name in the /lib/modules/3.12-1-powerpc64/
tree) whereas for the 3.4 kernel this module is available and is being
auto-loaded.

It seems that the i2c_powermac module from 3.4 is now called i2c-powermac
(underscore replaced with a minux sign).

Manually loading the i2c-powermac module results in fans that run at the
normal. expected low speed. I will be adding this to /etc/modules as a
workaround for this issue.

A question about kernel modules, can one module (eg windfarm_core) be
made to depend on and auto-load another (eg i2c-powermac)?

Bug#739743: FTBFS: circular dependency

2014-02-22 Thread Rebecca N. Palmer

Package: libfontconfig1
Severity: serious

fontconfig recently added a build-dependency on docbook-utils, and hence
an indirect build-dependency on itself. As the arch:any libfontconfig1
has an exact version dependency on the arch:all fontconfig-config, this
causes the build to fail on all architectures other than the first:

Bug#738701: xul-ext-firebug: According to 'compatibility list' Firefox 24 is only compatible with Firebug 1.12

2014-02-22 Thread Daniel Dickinson
Package: xul-ext-firebug
Version: 1.9.2~b2-1
Followup-For: Bug #738701

I have observed the same behavior and thought I would add that I noticed that
in the compatibility table shown when you click on the 'More' for firebug in
'Extensions' that Firefox 24 (i.e. the version wheezy's Iceweasel (v24) is
based on)
is only listed as compatible with firebug 1.12 and the list includes earlier
versions
of Firefox some which are compatible with firebug 1.9 (the version currently in
the security archive for wheezy).

In short even though the automatic detection of incompatible versions is
failing it
is known to firebug developers that Firefox 24 (and presumably also Iceweasel
24)
is not compatible with Firebug 1.9. So it seems Wheezy with security updates
cannot
work with current packages; perhaps oldstable's firebug got uploaded to stable?

Regards,

Daniel

Hi,

Looks like changes in file(1) broke our test suite. There is a

Besides that, we got some tests failing on funny filenames (e.g.
ones with backslash) and finally S-V 3.9.3 has become ancient...

I tried with CFLAGS set to -mcpu=cortex-a15 -mfpu=neon, and that still
gives illegal instruction when running it.

This is weird. What happened in debian side since
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=667653#35 ? We have
the current code working on this setup:

device: iPod touch 4G with iOS 5.1.1
toolchain: gcc 4.2.1(from Xcode 3.2.6) on OSX 10.6.8, clang 3.3(from Xcode
5.0.2) on OSX 10.9.1 (double checked)
configure script option: --host=armv7-apple-darwin --with-cpu=arm_nofpu[neon]
--with-audio=dummy --disable-shared --enable-static [--enable-int-quality]

Taihei also just checked the compliance of the decoder choices
including NEON. That illegal instruction ... care to fire up the
debugger to tell us where it actually occurs? The NEON assembly is
written as plain assembler input (cpp + as), you can see the
instructions we use right there and it doesn't differ from iOS.

It might be a good idea to have the benchmark script actuall check the
 return code of system()

Yes.

It makes DNS queries instead of downloading files, but that doesn't make much

Bug#738326: apt sometimes auto installs suggests not just depends and depends

2014-02-22 Thread Daniel Dickinson
Control: reopen -1 =
Control: retitle -1 apt sometimes installs suggests not just depends and
recommends
Control: reassign -1 apt 0.9.7.9+deb7u1

As you can see from the bug history gnuplot is being installed by apt
even though no packages which Depends on or Recommends on gnuplot are
either directly or indirectly installed (based on binary package
dependencies). In as described previously, 'aptitude why gnuplot' on the
resulting system claims the reason that gnuplot was installed is that
amanda-client Suggests it. While amanda-client *is* delibarately
installed and does suggest gnuplot, there is no reason that a Suggests
should automatically cause a package to be installed (that is no reason
except, if it is possible to do so, explicitly enabling such behavior,
which is not done in this case).

Therefore either apt is automatically installing a Suggests (which it
should not do), aptitude why is confused AND the apt output as recorded
in build.log is missing package apt is installing (and live-build
maintainers claim apt output is reported verbatim) (since what is shown
does not include any of the reverse dependencies/recommends of gnuplot),
or apt is automatically installing packages based on source package or
build-time dependencies (neither of which should happen either).

In any even there is clearly a mystery here as live-build maintainers
claim to do nothing special that would cause apt to install gnuplot and
no package which has gnuplot as a binary Recommends or Depends is either
directly or, based on apt's own output, indirectly being installed.

[verbose:why discovered]
FYI the initial use-case that uncovered this was an attempt to build a
debian-live businesscard-cd sized rescue system without turning off the
automatic install of Recommends (because I was hoping to avoid the pain
of manually going through dependencies to identify which ones would
cause issues due to missing functionality or unexpectedly missing
package (since most packages in debian now assume that their Recommends
will be available for functionality most users consider important but
the package technically could live without). Basically I was trying to
minimize the amount of time I had to put into a nice-to-have vs
must-have. It has turned out to be much more effort that is really
justified by the reward, especially since I do not exactly have copious
spare time and really should even now be probably doing something other
than worrying about someone else's bugs when it doesn't pay the bills.
Sadly my paid works demands excessive amount of time and is not open
source which would at least make me feel better about having little time
to work on either my own projects or projects to which I would like to
contribute time.

Bug#738326: Oops on the reassign

2014-02-22 Thread Daniel Dickinson
Control: reassign -1 apt
Control: retitle -1 apt sometimes autoinstalls suggests

For full details see the bug history from before assigned to apt.

Bug#713943: Lack of i2c_powermac module may be the cause

 Hi,

I run debian testing on a dual G5 powermac.

 Just upgraded from linux-image-3.4-trunk-powerpc64 to

modules are loading but the about 30 seconds to a couple of minutes
after booting to 3.12-1-powerpc64 the fans speed up to full speed.

lsmod says the windfarm modules are being loaded, and its the same
modules being loaded under the 3.4 kernel.

I have however found a difference. On 3.12 I get:

 dmesg | grep windfarm
[4.358299] windfarm: initializing for dual-core desktop G5

 whereas on 3.4 I get:

 dmesg | grep windfarm

 Definitely something wonky there.

 Erik de Castro Lopo wrote:

 Hi,

A previous message in this bug suggested that the i2c_powermac module
 may be involved.

Bug#739749: apt: Source package contains two generated files that isn't removed by debian/rules clean.

2014-02-22 Thread Jon Severinsson
Package: apt
Version: 0.9.14.2
Severity: minor

The cmdline/apt-key and vendor/debian/sources.list files are generated
from their respective *.in file if they doesn't exist at build time,
but they are not removed when cleaning the source directory.

This becomes a problem whenever the vendor information is updated, as
the generated binary packages will contain the stale files from the
source package instead of regenerated files with updated information.

For the recent release of Tanglu 1 (Aequorea Victoria) we got bitten
by an outdated cmdline/apt-key, and as a workaround manually removed
the generated files from the source package. A propper fix would be
to remove them at make clean time, but I'm unsure about the prefered
way of doing that, so are not providing a patch at this time.

Bug#735139: [Nbd] nbd recovery after suspend/resume

Hi Paul,

Op vrijdag 21 februari 2014 22:54:43 schreef Paul Clements:
Is it a kernel related thing, or could it be the fix to nbd-client signal
handling as detailed in this thread?

I doubt that it is userspace-related. When reading the bug log, no mention is
made of changes in userspace, only of using a more recent kernel.

However, that doesn't mean there are no such changes. Ernesto, did you change
anything in the way you ran the NBD device?

If not, can you clarify how exactly you're establishing the client side of the
NBD connection?

Thanks,

How to reproduce:

Bug#623913: schroot: Please support read-only bind-mounts

2014-02-22 Thread Ralf Jung
Hi,

this would indeed be a great feature. It would also be interesting to be
able to make the chroot root mount (which is not controlled by the
fstab file) read-only. Furthermore, there are additional interesting
flags that can be set for bind mounts, but only with a remount - think
of nosuid, noexec.

Kind regards
Ralf

 Dear Maintainer,
while looking at bug #586430 i found that the long text Using
Reportbug-NG never got translated, no matter what. Looking at the code
i noticed that this is because there is a trailing \ in
src/rnghelpers.py that isn't present in the version between source tags
in the .st files. Removing this char makes the strings identical and
 localization starts to work.

The attached patch fixes the issue. Now one can run for example
LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 reportbug-ng to get it in German.

Just to check with everybody. Are there any objections uploading the
current svn version + enabling python3-speechd? If not, I will do a
final check and upload if I don't find anything.

I have updated svn (locally) to 3.10 and tried it and it doesn't work at all
(the orca process runs but doesn't emit any sound). I haven't had the time to
 debug this yet though.

I am working on the latest 3.8. If it runs, I will upload that for now
and we can have some time to get 3.10 working. I expect I can get this
 finished this weekend...

I've updated svn. The problem I was having (with 3.8 and 3.10) was because I had
speech-dispatcher 0.7, but 0.8 is needed.

The only issue I see right now is that 3.10 dropped the binding to start/stop
Orca, which is now in gnome-settings-daemon 3.10, but we only have 3.8 in sid.
So we can revert the removal in Orca, or backport the change in
gnome-settings-daemon. I'll look into the latter.

Also note that since Orca 3.7.x, the Orca window (with the Preferences and Quit
button) no longer exists. You can still go to preferences or quit Orca using the
keyboard shortcuts. I have added a note in NEWS.

Bug#739762: Umtsmon - graphical programm for connecting cellphones or gsm-modems to the internet

2014-02-22 Thread Hans
Package: umtsmon
Version: 0.9

Dear maintainers,

I found this nice programm, which allows easy connection of GSM, GPRS, HSPDA
etc. devices to the internet. During my search I found nothing similar, so
please take a look at it. Although there is an old debian package available,
which is running well, it would be nice if you could try to rebuild it with
newer libs (i.e. qt4 instead of qt3).

You do not need to add new features, just rebuild.

Package details:

URL: http://umtsmon.sourceforge.net
License: GPL2
Packagename: umtsmon
Version: 0.9 (hint: latest version 0.10 is running very unstable, but 0.9 is
running stable)

Developer: Klaas van Gend kvang...@users.sf.net and several others, please
see also http://umtsmon.sourceforge.net/authors.shtml

Description: UMTSmon is a tool to control and monitor a wireless mobile
network card (GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, UMTS, HSDPA) in a laptop running the Linux
operating system. It handles PIN codes, operator choice (roaming), signal
strength and network statistics, sending/receiving SMS .

It probably also works well with several 3G phones that provide a serial
interface in Linux.

Download-URL for binary and sourcce:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/umtsmon/files/

Download-URL for CVS: http://sourceforge.net/projects/umtsmon/

Personal statement: I am running this app now for several years on my EEEPC
and my Acer Aspire 7530G with an Huawei-stick. No Problems at all. It is
working much more stable than network-manager or umts-panel for example. You
can see signal strength, send and receive SMS and it is highly configurable.
It is really worth, to take a look at it. Pity that it is orphaned, really!

Thank you for reading this.

Best regards

Hans-J. Ullrich

P.S. my ryportbug does not work, so I had to send this via e-mail. Sorry for
that.

Bug#739767: The partitioning phase of the installer crashes when using usb as installation medium

2014-02-22 Thread Mark Nuyts
Package: installer

severity: important

Dear Installer Team,

I used the nightly build of the Jessy i386 mini.iso (22-Feb-2014
00:16) to install to an old laptop.

I wrote the mini.iso to a usb-stick using unetbootin.

During the partitioning phase of the installation i got the following error:

Error informing the kernel about modifications to partition /dev/sda1
-- Device or resource busy. This means Linux won't know about any
changes you made to /dev/sda1 until you reboot --

There is an option to ignore, but this doesn't alleviate the problem.

As a usb-stick is an increasingly popular installation medium, I would
categorize this bug as important.

Work around:

+ Remove the usb-stick with the netinstaller before entering the
partioning phase of the installation.

Greetings,

Mark

Bug#739768: winbind: Non-kerberos logins fails on winbind 4.X when krb5_auth is configured in PAM (default)

2014-02-22 Thread hkbakke
Package: winbind
Version: 2:4.1.4+dfsg-3
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

After testing winbind 4.x in both wheezy-backports and jessie I have discovered
that I just can't login to the system if _not_ using kerberos. This breaks both
sudo and non-GSSAPI logins. If I remove krb5_auth from
/usr/share/pam-configs/winbind everything works.

Test scenario:
- Clean minimal netinstall of Jessie
- Install winbind with necessary dependencies and configuration identical to
what is working with winbind 3.x, except for defining server role in smb.conf
- Verify that everything works (getent passwd/group, wbinfo etc)
- Login via SSH (without GSSAPI)
- Login fails with the following error

Bug#739577: freeciv-client-gtk: unit/tile info tied to middle mouse button only

2014-02-22 Thread Jacob Nevins
Overally, it would be nice if there was an alternative way to
trigger this functionality, perhaps ctrl + LMB or some such. Some
googling suggests alt + LMB might trigger it on some platforms,

Alt+LMB is indeed supported by the Freeciv Gtk client as the alternative
to middle-click; this is documented in the 'Controls' section of the
online help.

In general, other modifier+button combinations are pretty well used for
other functions, so I don't see much scope for adding a third
alternative.

but that moves a window in X11 (and even in fullscreen mode, doesn't
seem to have any effect here).

It's more likely to be your window manager / desktop environment that
eats Alt+mouse than X11 itself. For instance, I think Xfce has the
behaviour you describe.

However, e.g. the thinkpad notebooks can use the middle button
to emulate a scrollwheel if held, which is extremely useful but
interferes with this. (Curiously - just tapping the middle mouse button
normally retains its function, e.g. pastes in a terminal, but has no
 effect in the freeciv client.)

Not sure why this might be, but the effect of tapping would be to bring
up the info popup only momentarily, which isn't very useful, so I'm not
inclined to spend time investigating the discrepancy.

Bug#739740: logrotate: Erroneous error messages when /var/log is tmpfs

Set su directive in config file to tell logrotate which user/group should
 be used for rotation.

This is correct and secure behaviour. It prevents a possible symlink
attack by a hostile. The /var/log directory should not have either
0777 or 01777 permissions.

I suggest you mount your /var/log tmpfs with the mode=0755 option.

Bug#739775: root-system: Please support building with Ruby 2.0

2014-02-22 Thread Christian Hofstaedtler

Dear Maintainer,

A new ruby-defaults, switching the default Ruby version to 2.0, will be
uploaded soon. (It is available in experimental for testing.)

During a test rebuild of rdepends with the new package, your package
failed to build.

If possible, please change your package in advance to support building
for Ruby 2.0, so when ruby-defaults is uploaded, only a binNMU is
needed.

Bug#713943: Lack of i2c_powermac module may be the cause

I can confirm that this module is missing completely for the 3.12 kernel
(there is no module of that name in the /lib/modules/3.12-1-powerpc64/

  auto-loaded.

It seems that the i2c_powermac module from 3.4 is now called i2c-powermac
(underscore replaced with a minux sign).

These are the same name, so far as the kernel is concerned.

Manually loading the i2c-powermac module results in fans that run at the
normal. expected low speed. I will be adding this to /etc/modules as a
 workaround for this issue.

Does it matter whether you load i2c-powermac before or after the
windfarm modules?

A question about kernel modules, can one module (eg windfarm_core) be
made to depend on and auto-load another (eg i2c-powermac)?

Yes but I don't think that's the correct solution. I'll ask upstream.

Ben.

Bug#739740: logrotate: Erroneous error messages when /var/log is tmpfs

According to ls it is mounted 755, that is what was confusing me:

reiner@weather:/var$ ls -ld /var/log
drwxr-xr-x 13 root root 4096 Feb 22 06:25 /var/log

Thats why I think the error message is wrong. Am I missing something?

This is correct and secure behaviour. It prevents a possible symlink
attack by a hostile. The /var/log directory should not have either
0777 or 01777 permissions.

I suggest you mount your /var/log tmpfs with the mode=0755 option.

libwayland-egl has been included in the libegl1-mesa-drivers, which

Practically this causes an issue on systems where wayland is used but
   the
EGL/GL stack isn't provided by mesa as applications using
   libwayland-egl depend
on libegl1-mesa-drivers which almost forcibly pulls in mesa.

How would alternative implementations satisfy the dependency? Should we
  name the
package libwayland-egl1-mesa, and have the shlibs force a dependency on
  libwayland-egl1-mesa | libwayland-egl1-provider (or similar) ?
Yeah same as libegl1-mesa has | libegl1-x11 by its symbols file.
Attached is a patch that splits out the library in that way, but keeps
the library pkg-config files as part of libegl1-mesa-dev

Cool, let's do this. There was a typo in the Provides (libwayland-egl). I have
fixed that and removed the debian revision from the symbols file and committed
that.

Bug#739780: pass: Pass does not handle GPG errors

2014-02-22 Thread Guus Sliepen
Package: pass
Version: 1.4.2-3
Severity: important

When inserting or generating a new password, pass does not check whether the
call to gpg to store the encrypted password actually succeeds. If GPG fails,
the exit code of pass is 0, and in case you generate a new password, the
generated password is still printed on the screen or copied to the clipboard.
The problem is of course that you think you have stored the password, but in
reality it is lost.

[guus@haplo]~pass generate -c test 10
gpg: please do a --check-trustdb
gpg: 1234ABCD: There is no assurance this key belongs to the named user
gpg: [stdin]: encryption failed: Onbruikbare publieke sleutel
Copied test to clipboard. Will clear in 45 seconds.
[guus@haplo]~echo $?
0

In case GPG fails, pass should NOT return a password and the exit code should
be non-zero. Also, in case the --clip option is used, pass should clear the
clipboard before doing anything else, to ensure that in case of an error, the
clipboard does not contain any other contents from before pass was called.

Indeed, when a user is preselected autologin doesn't work, but it kind

already logged in previously, and I would find it weird to log me back
in if I just logged out.

First, it can sound as good reason, but trace last login is job for

Second, it does not work as you described. I created second account in

And finally third, the autologin always happens when timeout is 0,
then nothing is traced.

By this, your solution track, that i (autologin account) was logged in,
but do not track, when the another account was logged in. Or does track
absolutely nothing. IMO it only breaks the autologin proces.

It is time to continue with another DM and leave this tracking system

The password is displayed only when the users is preselected from

This doesn't happen, when autologin works. After logout, there is no
preselected user. But when i select the user and restart the
  LightDM, the users stays preselected...

So far, I manage to have an user preselected when restarting lightdm
(wether manually or because I've just logged out of a session), but
password doesn't appear in clear text at all.

See attached screenshot from VM... The numbers are not a part of

It would be great to have soon a version which could enter jessie, and
later on having jessie released with a package based on that branch.

Bug#739783: ruby-bootstrap-sass: relax to only suggest ruby-sass-rails

2014-02-22 Thread Jonas Smedegaard
Source: ruby-bootstrap-sass
Severity: important

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA512

Sass libraries generally are usable without Rails, and I see no reason
it should be any different for this one.

Please therefore relax to only suggest ruby-sass-rails.

Raising this to important, because pulling in 14MB on a web server is
serious for some users (e.g. when running a webserver from a tiny ARM
box).

the same happens with other file types ( I tried an MTS file )

Also it seems that if one defines a wrong preset name, than HandBrake converts

The gtk version of handbrake works fine.

Bug#713943: Lack of i2c_powermac module may be the cause

2014-02-22 Thread David Gosselin
Are you testing on a PowerMac G5 7,3? Should be in /proc/cpuinfo.
I have a 7,3 model and cannot load the windfarm driver. It appears that the
hardware on the 7,3 is not supported. I’ve been working to update the
therm_pm72 driver to use the probe interface instead of the attach_adapter
interface. Maybe you’re hitting this issue?

lsmod says the windfarm modules are being loaded, and its the same

I have however found a difference. On 3.12 I get:

 Hi,

A previous message in this bug suggested that the i2c_powermac module
 may be involved.

Bug#731742: me too

2014-02-22 Thread Salvo Tomaselli
severity: grave
thanks

Have experienced the same problem and solved manually by following the
instructions on this bug.

I am raising severity because I just found out that I have no logs from the
moment I installed systemd, more than a week ago (and I found that out because
I needed to look in the logs).

Systemd should not break logging when installed.

Bug#739785: fontconfig-config: fails to purge: rmdir: failed to remove '/etc/fonts/conf.d': No such file or directory

2014-02-22 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Package: fontconfig-config
Version: 2.11.0-3
Severity: serious
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package failed to purge.

From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):

  Removing fontconfig-config (2.11.0-3) ...
  Purging configuration files for fontconfig-config (2.11.0-3) ...
rmdir: failed to remove '/etc/fonts/conf.d': No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing package fontconfig-config (--purge):
subprocess installed post-removal script returned error exit status 1
  Errors were encountered while processing:
   fontconfig-config

Since /etc/fonts/conf.d is shipped by the package (and some others as
well) it should not be managed by maintainer scripts, but by dpkg only.
So remove the rmdir call.
There is currently a bug in dpkg that causes some directories to be left
behind (#316521) - this is going to be fixed in dpkg, no need to work
around this in packages. For piuparts this will be worked around by
adding such directories to an internal ignore list until dpkg gets fixed.

cheers,

Andreas

http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-maintainerscripts.html#s-removedetails

Filing this as important as having a piuparts clean archive is a release

The maintainer scripts create (and later remove) a file in that

If the package would ship this as an empty directory, dpkg would take
care of the creation and removal (if it's empty).

Bug#683982: cupt: show should remove dots of blank lines when printing descriptions

2014-02-22 Thread Eugene V. Lyubimkin
Control: tags -1 + wontfix

Hi,

[ going through old bugs ]

I've rethought this case once again and came to the conclusion that for
the moment being I would rather not add the additional code for this.
For many cases, I'd personally prefer current behavior, plus users can
do something like

$ function mycuptshow() { cupt show $@ | sed 's/^ \.$/ /'; }
$ mycuptshow sed grep

to configure the behavior wanted.

Bug#739789: causes Apache segfaults

2014-02-22 Thread Marc Dequènes (Duck)

Package: php5-xcache
Version: 3.1.0-1
Severity: grave
Justification: package partially unusable, breaking (related) softwares
Tags: upstream

Coin,

Recently i experienced blank pages on Horde on specific pages, and
went down to find an Apache segfault. After some investigation, it
appears xache is the culprit (see below).

Deactivating the following Horde specific xcache features did not help:
  $conf['cache']['driver'] = 'Xcache';
  $conf['cache']['use_memorycache'] = 'Xcache';

The only way to fix it was to disable xcache completely.

On another machine i also experienced such kind of crashes when using
other softwares (dotclear for examples) and deactivating xache fixed
the problem.

I made a trace on the machine where i found the problem first, which
is attached.

Regards.

Filing this as important as having a piuparts clean archive is a release
goal since lenny.

The maintainer scripts create (and later remove) a file in that
directory. Manual directory removal may be not appropriate as this
directory is shared between several packages.

If the package would ship this as an empty directory, dpkg would take
care of the creation and removal (if it's empty).

From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):

0m42.0s ERROR: FAIL: Package purging left files on system:

IMO this is more a minor bug, since the initrd is still created.

Then dracut should recommend console-data, and this message should be
downgraded to a warning.

Bug#739794: LVM support tries to modify nonexistent udev rules

2014-02-22 Thread Ben Hutchings
Package: dracut
Version: 036-1
Severity: normal

/usr/lib/dracut/modules.d/90lvm/module-setup.sh tries to remove
some commands from ${initdir}/lib/udev/rules.d/69-dm-lvm-metad.rules.
There is no such file /lib/udev/rules.d/69-dm-lvm-metad.rules in
current udev in Debian, so this results in error messages:

grep: /var/tmp/initramfs.Dinwu0/lib/udev/rules.d/69-dm-lvm-metad.rules: No such
file or directory
sed: can't read
/var/tmp/initramfs.Dinwu0/lib/udev/rules.d/69-dm-lvm-metad.rules: No such file
or directory

It should test whether the file exists first.

Bug#622939: cupt: tries to install okular instead of upgrading evince-gtk

2014-02-22 Thread Eugene V. Lyubimkin
Hello,

[ going through old bugs ]

Despite the ultimate solution didn't come (and I start to doubt it'll
ever come), many resolver improvements were done in 2.x series, and some
more is coming.

Cupt also got the mechanism to easily reproduce resolver environments
from other machines (tar-metadata + pre.conf (coming in 2.7)), so
problematic inputs situations can be rechecked with other versions of
Cupt.

Do you have any machine where Cupt (from Debian stable or later) have
this or any similar problem, that is, cupt's reoslver chooses to install
some other packages instead of upgrading existing one(s)?

My bad, I messed up the rebuild and did it against the old package. I've redone

sourceful upload with a small patch.

Bug#739796: fs-uae: please consider packaging new version available (2.4.0)

Hi Ernesto!

On 02/22/2014 03:14 PM, Ernesto Domato wrote:

Thanks for letting me know! However please be aware that such bug
reports about new versions are usually not required as the Debian
PTS normally informs me about new versions [1].

It just seems that Frode changed the locations of the upstream sources
and therefore the PTS website for fs-uae didn't display the new
version.

I will verify that and also package the new version in the upcoming
days.

Cheers,

Adrian

Ah. Thanks for the explanation. So the only purpose of this bug is to
prevent all apt-listbugs users from installing -3

Hello Helmut,
this is very nice of you!

However, please note that, in order for apt-listbugs to warn its users
that the fontconfig/2.11.0-2 → fontconfig/2.11.0-3 upgrade is unsafe,
this bug report should *not* be marked as found in
fontconfig/2.11.0-2 ...

I am consequently fixing the BTS version tracking info.

Thanks for thinking about apt-listbugs users!
Bye.
