What, if we do the following: libhdf5-openmpi-dev[alpha amd64 i386 ia64 kfreebsd-amd64 kfreebsd-i386 powerpc sparc], libhdf5-lam-dev[!alpha !amd64 !i386 !ia64 !kfreebsd-amd64 !kfreebsd-i386 !powerpc !sparc] It should work for most of platforms. But I am not sure, how to check it without uploading. Anton I just recall that to enable med support the precense of libhdf5.so is mandatory... I think (but I may be wrong) that removing libhdf5-openmpi-dev will disable med support... :( I understand that libhdf5-openmpi-dev is not available for all platforms but it seems it exists for almost all platfomrs except m68k (unofficial port). To my point of view it is best to keep libhdf5-openmpi-dev to enable med support on most of the platforms and wait for libhdf5-openmpi-dev support for m68k... Seems, we have problems with compiling gmsh on some platforms: https://buildd.debian.org/build.cgi?pkg=gmshdist=sid I think, that the problem is in libhdf5-lam-dev package, which is used for those platforms and is uncompilable with gmsh. Bug#613056: Please compile gmsh with support for .med files
Hi, all! I have a question regarding this package. 2.5.0.dfsg-6 version has the following line in control file[1]: libhdf5-mpi-dev[alpha amd64 i386 ia64 kfreebsd-amd64 kfreebsd-i386 powerpc sparc], As I understand, libhdf5-mpi-dev should be included only on platforms, listed above. But builldd includes this package for all platforms, causing FTBFS on some of them. For example, mips is not listed above, but buildd includes libhdf5-mpi-dev for building [2]: Get:112 http://mirror-ubc.debian.org/debian/ unstable/main libhdf5-mpi-dev mips 1.8.4-patch1-2 [18.3 kB] I have changed libhdf5-mpi-dev on libhdf5-openmpi-dev in build-deps [3]: libhdf5-openmpi-dev[alpha amd64 i386 ia64 kfreebsd-amd64 kfreebsd-i386 powerpc sparc] But I am afraid, that it will cause again FTBFS, because libhdf5-openmpi-dev is not available on all platforms. Can anybody say, what do I do wrong? Why buildd ignores platforms, like described in Debian Policy [4]? Bug#640195: ParaViewConfig.cmake disapeared from paraview-* package
Before I close this bug, could you please confirm this is done on purpose ? My intial understanding when you volonteer to help on the paraview package, was that paraview package should only contains anything needed by paraview application at run time. While paraview-dev would be a package for building third party module... The idea was to put header-files into the separate binary to unload a little bit paraview itself. That is it. I am not against reshuffling some files between paraview and paraview-dev. I am just against of strong hard-coding, which can lead to a mess. But I have a couple of notice: You have commented those 2 lines: #CFLAGS := -Wall -lXt $(shell dpkg-buildflags --get CFLAGS) #CXXFLAGS := -Wall -lXt $(shell dpkg-buildflags --get CXXFLAGS) I would keep them, as was suggested by Bernhard R. Bug#637397: Possible solutions
Paraview is really not an easy source to package. Now the debian-directory is rewritten almost completely to make the packaging as simple as possible. I prefer to escape overpatching, because it complicates a maintainance. I am afraid, that replacing the vtk is not an easy work. It can produce even more bugs and problems. For example, it was impossible to replace fltk and sqlite with packaged in debian variants [1], because, it seems, upstream uses another version of the source. Anyway, if somebody has a wish to try to do it, git-repo is open for everybody. Bug#680359: paraview: non-versioned shlibs file
Hi, I did not quite understand. paraview-dev should depend on 'paraview (= ${upstream_version}), paraview (${upstream_version}+)'? Thanks Anton 2012/7/5 Julien Cristau julien.cris...@logilab.fr: Package: paraview Version: 3.14.1-6 Severity: important Hi, the paraview package ships a shlibs file with no version information. That is a problem for other packages that build a paraview plugin. Something like 'paraview (= ${upstream_version}), paraview ( ${upstream_version}+)' might work (many of the libs aren't versioned so I guess there's no ABI guarantee). Bug#669150: RM: liboce-*1 -- RoM
Sorry to rise the question again. The new upload of elmerfem did not fix the problem [1] (not supposed to. but...). What about removing elmerfem on armel and armhf? I understand, it is not the best solution. But, for example, freecad is hanging in sid since March not being able to migrate to testing because of this. Thank you. Bug#669150: RM: liboce-*1 -- RoM
I requested removal of gmsh on kfreebsd* after enabling autotests. There is also #617931, which does not allow migration to testing (license issue). Probably, it needs to be workarounded as done for freecad. But it needs to be discussed before. Anton 2012/5/30 D. Barbier bou...@gmail.com: Hello Anton, gmsh still FTBFS on kfreebsd-*, isn't this also a problem for this transition? This happens since auto-tests are enabled, maybe you can disable them on kfreebsd-*? Not a perfect solution, but AFAICT this is not a regression.
