on my host support is enabled...

Bug#613056: Please compile gmsh with support for .med files

2011-03-31 Thread Anton Gladky
What, if we do the following:

libhdf5-openmpi-dev[alpha amd64 i386 ia64 kfreebsd-amd64 kfreebsd-i386
powerpc sparc],
libhdf5-lam-dev[!alpha !amd64 !i386 !ia64 !kfreebsd-amd64
!kfreebsd-i386 !powerpc !sparc]

It should work for most of platforms. But I am not sure, how to check
it without uploading.

Anton

I just recall that to enable med support the precense of libhdf5.so is
mandatory... I think (but I may be wrong) that removing
libhdf5-openmpi-dev will disable med support... :(

I understand that libhdf5-openmpi-dev is not available for all platforms
but it seems it exists for almost all platfomrs except m68k (unofficial
 port).

To my point of view it is best to keep libhdf5-openmpi-dev to enable med
support on most of the platforms and wait for libhdf5-openmpi-dev
 support for m68k...

Bug#613056: Please compile gmsh with support for .med files

2011-04-01 Thread Anton Gladky
Seems, we have problems with compiling gmsh on some platforms:
https://buildd.debian.org/build.cgi?pkg=gmshdist=sid

I think, that the problem is in libhdf5-lam-dev package, which is used
for those platforms and is uncompilable with gmsh.

My opinion is, that we have to replace libhdf5-mpi-dev to the following line:
libhdf5-openmpi-dev[alpha amd64 i386 ia64 kfreebsd-amd64 kfreebsd-i386
powerpc sparc]

it will disable MED-support for some platforms, but will be compilable.

OCC is not found during configuration process:

But it should be:
-I. -I../../.. -I/usr/include/opencascade -I././inc/ -D_OCC64 -g -D_DEBUG

Has anybody an idea, how to fix it? Patch ./configure file?

Bug#613056: Please compile gmsh with support for .med files

2011-04-11 Thread Anton Gladky
Hi, all!

I have a question regarding this package.
2.5.0.dfsg-6 version has the following line in control file[1]:

libhdf5-mpi-dev[alpha amd64 i386 ia64 kfreebsd-amd64 kfreebsd-i386
powerpc sparc],

As I understand, libhdf5-mpi-dev should be included only on platforms,
listed above.
But builldd includes this package for all platforms, causing FTBFS on
some of them. For example, mips is not listed above, but buildd
includes libhdf5-mpi-dev for building [2]:

Get:112 http://mirror-ubc.debian.org/debian/ unstable/main
libhdf5-mpi-dev mips 1.8.4-patch1-2 [18.3 kB]

I have changed libhdf5-mpi-dev on libhdf5-openmpi-dev in build-deps [3]:

libhdf5-openmpi-dev[alpha amd64 i386 ia64 kfreebsd-amd64 kfreebsd-i386
powerpc sparc]

But I am afraid, that it will cause again FTBFS, because
libhdf5-openmpi-dev is not available on all platforms. Can anybody
say, what do I do wrong? Why buildd ignores platforms, like described
in Debian Policy [4]?

Thank you
Anton

 Hi!

yade tries writing to $HOME during build which is not allowed for debian
packages. AS $HOME points to a invalid directory on buildds to test for
this kind of bugs it fgails to build there.

 See for example
 https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=yadearch=kfreebsd-amd64ver=0.60.2-2stamp=1304912109

  File /build/buildd-yade_0.60.2-2-armel-7Iv8CI/yade-0.60.2/SConstruct, line

  File /usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/matplotlib/__init__.py, line 597:

Since the move to paraview 3.10, the cmake import file:

Bug#640195: ParaViewConfig.cmake disapeared from paraview-* package

2011-09-03 Thread Anton Gladky
Before I close this bug, could you please confirm this is done on
purpose ? My intial understanding when you volonteer to help on the
paraview package, was that paraview package should only contains
anything needed by paraview application at run time. While
paraview-dev would be a package for building third party module...

The idea was to put header-files into the separate binary to unload a
little bit paraview itself. That is it.

I am not against reshuffling some files between paraview and
paraview-dev. I am just against of strong hard-coding, which can lead
to a mess.

Hi Mathieu,

thanks for fixing that bug! But I have a couple of notice:

You have commented those 2 lines:
#CFLAGS := -Wall -lXt $(shell dpkg-buildflags --get CFLAGS)
#CXXFLAGS := -Wall -lXt $(shell dpkg-buildflags --get CXXFLAGS)

I would keep them, as was suggested by Bernhard R. Link [1]

Anton, I will start using your git/debian package repository, using
convention from debian-science as depicted here:
 http://lists.debian.org/debian-science/2008/05/msg00118.html

Let me know if I should follow any other convention.

There is a debian-branch, but I usually commit to master.
Please, when you commit, give a meaningful comment.
Then we will use git-dch to generate debian/changelog

637397 indicates the following issue 'paraview and python-vtk: error
when trying to install together. And this bug is fixed in 3.10.1-2,
maybe by a brute way but fixed.

Cleaning paraview from vtk-files is an another issue, so it should be
definitely another bug not to mix the problems. I do not think, this
issue is a serious bug and should be a blocker, because it does not
break anything like an initial 637397. So, please, consider closing
637397 and opening a new, lower one.

Thanks.

Bug#637397: Possible solutions

2011-08-28 Thread Anton Gladky
Paraview is really not an easy source to package.

Now the debian-directory is rewritten almost completely to make the
packaging as simple as possible. I prefer to escape overpatching,
because it complicates a maintainance.

I am afraid, that replacing the vtk is not an easy work. It can
produce even more bugs and problems. For example, it was impossible to
replace fltk and sqlite with packaged in debian variants [1], because,
it seems, upstream uses another version of the source.

Anyway, if somebody has a wish to try to do it, git-repo is open for everybody.

Bug#623560: FTBFS on kfreebsd-*: fatal error: Driver_Document.h: No such file or directory

2011-07-16 Thread Anton Gladky
Hi Werner,

thanks for suggestion. So, in this case salomemesh will not be
compiled at all? Will we loose some functionality?
But there _is_ a /usr/include/opencascade in the system. It just
cannot be properly detected by configurator.

This problem is solved by adding -lrt to LDFLAGS.

But the following problem appears:
././src/SMDS/SMDS_Mesh.cpp:68:18: error: aggregate
‘SMDS_Mesh::CheckMemory(bool)::sysinfo si’ has incomplete type and

It is discussed here [1]:
The GNU/kFreeBSD does not have struct sysinfo at all. [2]

You can use sysctl for ram and libkvm for swap, see:

2012-06-29 Thread Anton Gladky
Hello Michael,

thanks for the patch. But I would like you to ask to remove
this NMU. Multiarch is fixed already in git [1] about a week ago.
But it is not yet fully tested against all build-rdepends.

The new version debian/2.6.0-3 which fixes FTBFS on KfreeBSD-systems
is waiting for uploading [2]. The next upload will fix multi-arch issue.

Thank you

Isn't it possible to build a single /usr/bin/gnuplot binary with
all the relevant support for all the graphical interactive
terminals supported by Debian, and then provide the necessary
lib/gnuplot/ driver binaries in three separate packages
 (gnuplot-x11, gnuplot-wxt, gnuplot-qt)?

I do not think so. We have now: gnuplot-nox, gnuplot-x11 and gnuplot-qt.
Such structure is clear and no need to add one more gnuplot-wxt.
That is my point of view.

Bug#680359: paraview: non-versioned shlibs file

Hi,

I did not quite understand. paraview-dev should depend on
'paraview (= ${upstream_version}), paraview (${upstream_version}+)'?

Thanks

 Package: paraview
 Version: 3.14.1-6

 Hi,

the paraview package ships a shlibs file with no version information.
That is a problem for other packages that build a paraview plugin.
 Something like 'paraview (= ${upstream_version}), paraview (
${upstream_version}+)' might work (many of the libs aren't versioned so
I guess there's no ABI guarantee).

 Thanks,

Sorry to rise the question again. The new upload of elmerfem did not
fix the problem [1]
(not supposed to. but...).

What about removing elmerfem on armel and armhf? I understand, it is
not the best

being able to
migrate to testing because of this.

Thank you.

I requested removal of gmsh on kfreebsd* after enabling autotests.
There is also #617931, which does not allow migration to testing
(license issue).

Probably, it needs to be workarounded as done for freecad. But it
needs to be discussed before.

Anton

2012/5/30 D. Barbier bou...@gmail.com:
 Hello Anton,

gmsh still FTBFS on kfreebsd-*, isn't this also a problem for this
transition?  This happens since auto-tests are enabled, maybe you can
disable them on kfreebsd-*?  Not a perfect solution, but AFAICT this
 is not a regression.
